You mean we should breed seal/bee hybrids that could produce blubber-enriched honey for them. Beal farms are the way of the future!

Yes :atp:

The world will call us mad but in 5-10 years everyone will want to work on our Beal farms

You people are aware that CM Punk is just following the script that McMahon wrote (Or approved, I think Wrestling is where all the soap writers go after they get s**t canned.)

Yeah, but he unlike say Cena has the in-ring ability and charisma to make it look great.

Yes, Vince McMahon probably approves of most of the stuff he allows to let CM Punk say on air but if Punk was a crap wrestler to begin with, none of this would have flown.

And he's got the passion. I've read a lot of biographies of wrestlers (I started with Mick Foley's Have a Nice Day) and I know roughly how unglamorous the life of a Pro Wrestler can be if you don't become a main-eventer, its quite a journey. Have you guys seen Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler"? Can you imagine living your life having to hurt yourself in the ring on a weekly basis.

This isn't like "Legitimate" sports where the boxers or MMA fighters you see at the top of the card defending their titles monthly. A legitimate professional fighter may take months before he even has a glimpse of his title shot/title defense. In in that time in between matches, he's got training, sponsorship money and all kinds of perks to lean back on.

Pro Wrestling? Its a passion. Its like watching the Rodeo, or a bull fight. Because like Bronco busters and matadors, you REALLY need to remember why you're letting another man hit you in the face with a steel chair. The same feeling of letting an angry bull charge at you or riding on a horse that wants to snap your neck. Your doing it because you love it.

I'd say Pro wrestling is more of a form of extreme Ballet. :o

Sure the falls are real. Going head first through a table then getting up only to get hit in the head with chair still hurts......but once you know the outcome, storylines, etc are all predetermined then it's not a sport.

All I can picture right now is the Ultimate Warrior in a ballerina costume

It's not a "sport" per se, but the people involved aren't untrained "actors" either. Like I said, you've got to be a seasoned veteran to ensure you look convincing while not ending up hurting the other guy or even killing him by accident. There's a lot of skill involved.

It's like a soap opera where all of the roles are played by stuntpeople.

Also, it's vaguely lame. :oldrazz:

Oh, hey, you know what else some of the acting reminds me of? Those sentai shows in Japan, where they overemphasize their movements to insane degrees. Of course, the difference is that the sentai actors have to do that, since they're covered from head to toe and can't emote any other way. The wrestling guys do it because... um...

You're right, Kane. As you've shown, wrestling is the very highest form of art. The picture of subtlety, even. :awesome:

As far as im concerned, when I used to watch wrestling it was far more entertaining than most sh** on tv.

I see that more as a referendum on the majority of TV--which I agree is totally s***--than an endorsement of wrestling as an especially good alternative.

I'm stunned you know what Sentai even is Corp.

But yeah, its still better than half the crap on TV anyways. And I've always appreciated Wrestling for both the entertainment value as well as the actual in-ring ability.

Most of us have only been exposed to say the more mainstream stuff like WWE and TNA, but if you look outside the States to Japan and Mexico, you really see how truly impressive Pro Wrestling is.

Well, Japan does have a bit more tentacle rape monsters wrestling. :o

wrestling is fun to watch. it's nice to shut your brain off and just enjoy something sometimes, and wrestling helps me do that.

Yeah, pretty much. Like Michael bay movies.

Speaking of Bay, I heard he's trying to expand his directing chops by trying his hand at a low-budget crime drama/mystery or something.

Not sure how to gauge a "low-budget" Bay film though.

So I just got done reading The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul which has issues from Robin, Nightwing and Paul Dini and Grant Morrisons Batman comics. Overall it was pretty good, but the Robin issues were definitely a weak point. Is it fair to say Peter Milligan failed to properly characterize Damian? He made him a whimpering scared little boy. I also thought it was pretty bad that it took the Nightwing writer to give his Robin some proper motivation.

i really hope damian dies soon. betting more than a little tired of him
