I have only been cheeky to someone when they have been cheeky to me first, or if they have been cheeky to someone else first.
But, y'know, I am not surprised by your opinion, given that you have tried to wind me up in the lounge here before, and I pretty much ran rings around you with comeback lines, of which, you had, like, one, that wasn't too great.

I just saw Inglorious Basterds for the first time. I was extremely impressed by the movie. Not Tarantino's usual flare. And Hans Landa, that Nazi SOB was an impressive character. I liked him and Fassbender's character the most.

Despite the movie being about good old fashion Nazi killing, at least they made a point to make the Nazis look smarter than they are usually portrayed. That scene in the bar, I guess I'll call it Willi's party scene was incredibly tense when this SS guy kept probing for Fassbender's weakness. The give away was so incredible subtle and I guess it made sense. I mean, I'm not sure if its real but I thought it was a very good twist.

I thought the French lady they casted for Shoshanna was pretty damn good. Pretty in this plain kind of way.

As for Bear Jew, I dunno. You know the scene where they capture this German patrol and Aldo tries to scare intel out of the German sergeant who shows absolutely no fear? I kind of had a bad taste in my mouth when Bear Jew killed him. I did like the short but powerful verbal exchange they had.

"You get that for killing Jews?"

"Bravery"

And proceeds to bash the sergeant's skull in.

This movie had this weird vibe though. In the shadow of say the reports of a rogue American "kill-team" doing something in the same vein as the Basterds in Afghanistan.

I may be a joke to you, but I've figured complex things out that you had to be taught. If you were in my shoes, with the job I have, you wouldn't even have got to the starting line, and my job is more important than anything you will ever come into contact with.
People don't like to think about that though, they say that I figured that stuff out because I had a mind like a child...but, y'know what? It actually took many years of philosophical thought to get to that point, that's what they don't like to think about, cause they had to be taught that, they would all still be sitting on the toilet pan thinking about the rent if they were in my shoes, whereas I figured out that the toilet was a phone for talking to God, and I didn't need to pay rent because I created the planet.

Well, I would probably control myself, but he has taken it to the point where it has become fighting talk, I'd have to do something about it, one way or another. Because he crossed the line the other week when he actually accused me of something when he knew I was innocent, and now he is throwing the term around again, accusing someone of something specifically goes beyond just throwing out the term as a horrible insult because you don't like someone. No-one else is gonna do anything about it, so I'll have to.

I have to say, it's quite funny still seeing posts saying that BlackLantern should be brought back, the truth is, the guy was an ass, and I'm pretty sure the mods were too intimidated by him and his popularity to ban him and take the blame themselves.
So, when i called him out on the flaming he was doing, they saw a way of banning him with the heat falling at my feet, and that's fine by me.
I didn't know he was close to getting banned, and wouldn't have called him out on getting away with the flaming if I had known, but I'm glad he's gone now.
but I can see why some folk wanted him around, he was like the 'wetworks' guy they sent in, to be verbally violent towards people they wanted to intimidate for political reasons, they knew he was a distasteful character and used that for their own ends.
There is another poster round here who is trying to do the same kind of thing, a muscleheaded ass who keeps spanking over Bane images and tries to intimidate with veiled threats of violence, he was also saying BL should be brought back, it's ridiculous, why bother talking about it? The wetworks guy is gone, and that's why he's gone.
and I don't mind taking the heat for that, in fact, I'm proud to take the heat for that. His posts were usually just a lot of reactionary rubbish anyway.

It's a pretty great movie and I thought the cast all gave really good performances too. Hans Landa was probably one of the most genuinely sinister movie characters I have seen

And the Italian accent scene always makes me laugh

i can't decide if i despise it for trying take a fairly tame tale aimed at children and grimdark it up for the sake of grimdarking it up, if i'm ok with it because i have to support an artist's right to leeway with a given subject mater, or if i'm just apathetic to it. i think it's probably the first one, but one thing is sure, charlese theron coming out of that milk bath is crazy hot.
