There's a time and a place for Bendis, and that time and place is limited to:

His own stuff
Ultimate Spidey
Select Daredevil stuff

I think Bendis dialogue works ok with the kids in Ultimate Spidey... I don't think he should be anywhere near an Avengers book though.

I'd been following his plans for Moon Knight for several months now in horror, but I'm still a sucker for the character until the death when he does actually destroy it. I'll give him more than one issue, but I'm still not thrilled.

I'd have much preferred Dan Slott been given the title.

I didn't mind that Secret Avengers series he wrote that was okay sort of

But most of the time his writing doesn't really interest me all that much

He didn't write Secret Avengers, unless you mean Secret War.

Two years and $70 later, and all I got was Swamp Thing, an even more angsty Hawkman, a soon-to-explode Firestorm, and some crap with Aquaman. Did Brightest Day just troll and taffy me?

New Green Lantern trailer with the fixed SFX was amazing. i must have watched it about 15 times.

Gotta go to bed, i'm helping out at my LCS for free comic book day, everyone should visit atleast one shop to show that it's working.

I got asked to help too, but today's moving day.

If you go to FCBD, I know the word Free is awesome, but buy something. These stores need all the help they can get, anime and Magic cards ain't enough to sustain a business.

**** 'em....they've outlived their usefulness....Im jumping on the e-comic train early and buying my subscriptions online now

Translation: Sure Darth, I was going to do that anyway.

I know some LCS I wish would close down. Went to Ft. Lauderdale once, walked into a comic store he had all the comics in bags and boards. Saw something caught my eye, walked up to the owner asked if he had any I could flip through he said if I wanted to flip through it it would cost me the price is says on the cover. As if I was was going to sit there, read it and then throw it back in his face.

Yep they need our support

why? from a purely economical standpoint....?? when I can them online for a fraction of the cost?

That kind of sucks. The people at the comic shop i go to are fine with people reading the comics in the store

My local comic shop owners have always been nothing but polite, nice and helpful. They will chat with you about comics, recommend comics you might like, even give you free comics from time to time.

I get on well with one comic shop owner in particular because I've been going to his shop since I was 8 years old.

I like using my comic shop instead of only shopping online because the people who work there are really friendly and becausea lot of the regulars there are really fun to chat with about comics and anime

That's why i like to support my local comic shop

you're wasting your money (not something one wants to do in this day and age) and supporting an obsolete business model

Brubaker wrote that.

It's why it was far better than both the regular series and New Avengers at the time... Well, that and giving Brubaker grittier stuff invariably ends with WINNING!

Blantern lives to crush the hopes and dreams of the small businessmen...

the small businessmen who doesn't move forward and adjust their business to meet the needs of the modern consumer

if a company or business doesn't reinvent itself every 10 years it will die....happened to my old job, so I jumped ship early and now 60 people are out of work because "they hoped for the best"

Yep Brubaker is pretty great at writing that kind of story

His run on Captain America has been :awesome: sauce too

Because I'm socially starved and enjoy interacting with the guy who owns my LCB and the other guys who work there.

Also I doubt very much I'd be able to get Bendis' first issue of Moon Knight at US cover price by any other means. They treat me well and they do a lot of good for the community as well, probbly why in the lead up to Free Comic Book day they've wound up with TWO different articles in Adelaide's major newspaper promoting the store I freqent...

I support it because One: I will never buy an e-comic and Two: I not only strive to buy all my single issues but I only buy trades at my LCS. I also enjoy Steve because he has become a friend of mine. He says his store is actually doing good right now and he has an E-mail newsletter that goes out every week and he is pretty established and honestly if that place was going under I would try to get a loan to help them out. Plus all these movies really help the shops in awesome and amazing ways. A lot of them are dieing but they are not all dieing and not even quickly like some other small bussiness, he says he still has guys that come in on Wed and buy EVERY MARVEL and DC title and as long as there are guys like that he'll stay a float.

Yup, but don't worry. I got him back for you by grabbing Issue Zero for free with no intention of purchashing Blackest Night.

Fight the power! :ninja::argh:
