I don't care what you have or don't have between your legs, 300 is about as much of a masterpiece as my toaster. It's serviceable, but there's nothing special or great about it.

you obviously don't know anything about film :o

Megan Fox sounds like she is really awful to work with :down

What, there was a Matrix episode of Smallville? Explain.

It defies explanation

No one can be told what the Smallville Matrix episode is they have to see it for themselves

it's fun

plain and simple....but I am not surprised that the festival crowd did not take to it

Do not be mean to your toaster Tron Bonne

It makes yummy toasted bread that is pretty special and great

You know what else was good enough for the general audience:

Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen

Oooooooooooo!

Well honestly while i had alot to dislike on 300 with the unnecessary changes, it still served as a pretty good adaption and most importantly: It had more action scenes then talking scenes, i believe!

Regarding the Matix episode, this is what i read from some user's comment:
What I meant was that Cloe acted out scenes from the Matrix almost verbatim. Morpheus tells Neo on the roof that none of this is real and he can bend reality, and coaxes him to jump off of the rooftop. Same thing here. Cloe later fights Black Canary with one hand, basically, blocking everything she's sending her way, just like Neo fought Smith when he woke up from being shot in the chest, "reborn." Cloe even does her best Agent Smith impersonation, by appearing as multiple hers later on in the show (though I know it was only someone using her avatar). The gunplay she did was Matrix-like, so was what she wore, though it was white and not a black trenchcoat. Switch wore white in the Matrix. This was just a blatant rip-off. All of it.

Chloe literally had to create a virtual avatar of herself and rescue Clark, Lois, Ollie, Canary, and Aquaman from this virtual world they were trapped in

It was kind of fun, but the story sucks, and the action chokes on its own slow-mo. The comic wasn't even that good really. Something like Commando, or a serious film with a good storyline like T2 is what I go for with that kind of popcorn flick personally. Not everything need strive to Shakespeare or anything, but at least shot for Hubbard, jeez.

Commando, while I enjoy it, is probably as paint by numbers as an action movie gets, but its executed in a fantastic way

plus its Arnold

Oh trust me, I'm a person who loves their toast, but I will not pretend my toaster is more than he is.

Oh my...

call me a Zack Snyder fanboy but I enjoyed every film he has directed so far.

Dawn of the Dead
300
Watchmen (and Tales of the Black Freighter/Under the Hood)
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

I cant wait to see Sucker Punch.

I'm kind of the opposite; I haven't enjoyed any of the films he's directed that much (not seen the Owl one, though). Watchmen is probably my favorite, but almost all of his added flair killed it for me. I do kind of want to see Sucker Punch, though, but I'm keeping my expectations in check based on that.

I didn't watch the Owl movie (no interest)

Sucker Punch looks quasi interesting to me, but I'm getting a bit worn out with all the Riot Grrrl Power movies

I think he took a lot of liberties with Watchmen, a lot that didn't have to be taken. But overall, I think Dawn of the Dead is still his best movie. I'm very nervous about his Superman though. Zack Snyder has the potential to make a great Superman movie.

I like Snyder but he needs to go easy on the slow-mo. He uses it more than Guy Richie

I watched Dawn of the Dead recently, haven't seen it in a few years....I've always liked it, seemed like a pretty basic, solid zombie flick

Yeah, I admit he did okay (much better than I think anyone expected with it), but overall I don't think he was a good fit for the material. Pretty much all the action scenes really derailed the film, and all the little changes (like Dr. M's last line being given away) totally gimped their impact. It was a lost cause to begin with, frankly, but Snyder pulled it as good as he could've, but even then, I still feel it could have been a better film.

I really want to see Sucker Punch think that I will dig it

At least hug your toaster now and then

Yep

I thought the action scenes were ok, I know many folks flipped out because Dan (Nite Owl) kicked people

and when it was announced, I was vehemently against it being adapted in any way shape or form

I still think a 12 part Band of Brothers/The Pacific HBO type mini-series was the best way to go with it.

you know people gave him flack about that ending but I actually prefer it to the graphic novel (and im a huge fan of that book). It made the story go full circle instead of having a last minute monster that destroys the whole city. My only complaint about that is that they didnt really show the magnitude of human life that was loss. I mean those panels really brought emotion that most comics dont show.

There was no Matrix episode of Smallville, perhaps you're just experiencing a little deja vu...

BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

if anyone comes across a still of scrawny Chris Evans from that spot last night, let me know

It makes me chuckle
