Why did they make X-men an Anime to begin with? I just don't think that it really makes sense.

(A*B) + (A*C) = A(B+C)
Nerds like X-Men. + Nerds like anime. = Nerds like X-men anime.

I'm guessing some Japanese studio wanted the rights to adapt it into a 12 episode cartoon. Like 90% of all anime is just some studio adapting a comic book.

There's really nothing about it that doesn't not make sense.

Well I mean think about it. X-Men has all the earmarks of your average anime. Pretentious writing, over drawn melodrama, girly lookin' dudes, moral ambiguity.

Girly looking dudes isn't just related to Anime have you seen those j-pop or korean pops bands. People would struggle to tell they are male in the west

What's the deal with that anyways? All the pretty boys over there look like pretty girls. And all of the pretty girls look like 12 year old girls. That entire country is designed to **** you over.

I find the best way to deal with that issue is to not be turned on by 12 year olds.

I watched that Beckii Cruel documentary about a 14 year old Rebecca Flint from the UK who posted a video of herself performing some Japanese pop dance routine and became a superstar in Japan like Rebecca Black I guess except when she went to Japan all her fans wher creepy Japanese men.

Her Japanese manager was constantly explaing to her dad who is a cop and came with her to Japan that there its normal for middle aged dudes to be fans of teenage girl pop stars.
Her dad was like cool as long its safe he was really intrested in making a load of money off his daughters career though.

She had weird Japanese middle aged fans sending her gifts too. I can't imagine that stuff going down well over here

I mean I'm assuming you're American. I don't pay a lot of attention sometimes, maybe you're Canadian or something, I don't know.

I'm surprised that he died of pneumonia instead of a heart attack.

I remember when I was stationed in Japan (98-2001) the big hot pop act was a group called Glay and they were girly looking Japanese men

Yeah, Japanese men tend to be more in touch with their feminine side once they realize how good-looking they are. The 'boyish charms' thing appeals to a large audience from young teens to middle aged housewives.

As to it being apart of their overall culture? Not really. These pretty boys are simply cashing in on their looks. And everything is youth orientated which is sad because a lot of older Japanese performers are pretty good. It's like they're afraid of age,
