While I will admit that that is one sexy aircraft, I have to say that I am disappointed that the "X-Jet" has gotten away from its Blackbird roots:

Haha. Well, with the exception of its new outer shell (which would have to be replaced after the beating it took in X2), I think the X-Jet looks exactly the same physically.

**WARNING: Fanboy Nitpick Mode!** I just wish it was referred to as the "Blackbird" in the films as opposed just "the jet". And it's just worse when all the toys refer to it as the "X-Jet". **END Fanboy Nitpick Mode**

One of my favorite scens from any comic book movie is still the take-off of the BLACKBIRD!! in the first X-Men. With the basketball court opening, and the nice touch of having the basketball rolling in place as the court opens, and falling into the hangar.

I like both the old and the new Blackbird (won't call it X-Jet cuz I agree with you KenK on that point)!! The first one does kinda look more like a "bird"--a goose with a long neck...and the new one looks more like a flat shark! I don't know why I keep seeing animals in these [edit: Blackbirds] but I do.
