The Flash The Villain Bar

I thought the speed force took care of all that sonic boom stuff?

Sometimes? I mean, I've read that, but it's applied super inconsistently. Regardless, that's really stupid. It basically turns the Speed Force into "the thing that does whatever" instead of a specific thing with defined abilities and limitations. It also seems kind of pointless to me.

It pretty well that is what it is, its something that Flash break the laws of physics at his discretion. So Flash can move at faster then the speed of light and not cause sonic booms in the city, because of the speed force. Flash has a bunch of over the top feats when it comes to speed force tricks, with Flash being able to steal speed from others, vibrate through tings and one time the speed force saved Flash's life when a bullet was about to kill, by slowing everything down.

The speed force has made Flash such an over the top game breaker, that its hard for almost any villain besides Zoom to be a realistic challenge to him, they really have to done down his powers in the TV show, the 90s show limited his speed to make the villains more believable threats, I really think they should do that here.

The Flash can't move at supersonic or light speed even if he'c capable of it if he's within a city. If he's going at top speed within a city, the wind, friction, heat, and sonic booms he'd leave in his wake would destroy the city. He has to keep at subsonic speeds within a populated area or risk hurting innocent people.

Also, it kind of depends on how his speed works more than what his top speed. Is he simply capable of accelerating to super or light speed, or can he stand in one place and still passively think and move that fast? Because if it's only the former, than going too fast risks overshooting and missing his target entirely.

Silver Age: Supes and GL Casually zoom to other worlds. And Who's faster Superman or Flash is an issue?

That's pretty much what the speed force is; Remember when his costume was just "made of speedforce"?

Yeah. I don't like that. What the Speed Force is and does should begin and end at "is is fuel source and is why running that fast doesn't kill him." Everything else added onto it always made my eyes roll.

Except for the pseudo-religious stuff. That would be kind of interesting when done properly. But the speed force constructs and whatnot were pointlessly silly.

Or, just take out the part where the side effects of running that fast are negated. Say that he's capable of breaking the sound barrier, but he never does so within a populated area because the side effects would level the environment and kill hundreds if not thousands of people. That's why his villains can challenge him within the city limits, because he's handicapped there.

Also, make it clear that he can't passively stand around and simply "exist" and super sonic or near-light speeds. He can accelerate to those kinds of speeds, and he does have enhanced reflexes up to a point, put charging at an enemy too fast runs the risk over over-shooting.

It's not that hard to have him able to break the sound barrier and have his enemies still pose a threat.

You would still have to tone down all the speed force tricks he has, if he can speed steal from other people, he can defeat enemies way too easily. Put some limits on his powers.

I think they should stay well away from speed stealing/lending, and other esoteric speed force tricks, for the foreseeable future. Stick with feats based on movement, and once he gets more experienced, vibration.

The thread title reminds me of that satellite in Identity Crisis, where the villains just go to hang out. I so want that. Just to see Merlyn casually getting a coffee, with John Barrowman's gloriously hammy delivery.

I really hope there will be many and deverse villains, as in Arrow. Arrow has done a wonderful job in creating its own big universe, with so many different villains from Dc universe. I hope producers will do that on Flash, too. Hope we will see not just Barry's villains, but also DC main villains, as in Arrow.

Producers in Arrow put focus not just on Arrow villains from comic books, but the villains from all DC universe. In Arrow we saw Deathstroke, Brother Blood, Raveger, which are not Arrow's main villains. Also, we have been given a glimpse od League of Assassins, and also we saw Suicide Squad.

So I hope besides The Rouges, Zoom, we will se more DC villains and teams, which should help building interconected bigger and better universe.
Villains such as T.O.Morrow, Maxwell Lord, Kobra, Zookeeper and teams as, H.I.V.E., OGRE. Also, it would be cool if Victor Stone and Atom would appear.

who was the black fellow who could (ahem) 'inhale' stuff? his initial portrayal was extremely obese.

So, first up is Weather Wizard as the villain in the pilot. Do you think every tech-based villain from the comics will be turned into a Metahuman in the series, or will we still have tech ones? And what would you prefer anyway? Villains that have unique powers and abilities through technology, or should they be Metahumans like the Flash?

I think that they would be smart to tie Cold's origin in with Killer Frost's, like have him be responsible for her powers. Having 2 ice themed villains with unrelated origins would seem too coincidental. Also, I'd like to see Boomerang vs Arrow, I think their archaic ranged weapons would be an interesting match up. Mirror Master should control holograms and such, but please no mirror-dimensions. That'd be too much of a stretch.

Also on a side note, Weather Wizard's FX look great, but I hope they give him a better outfit eventually. I know this is just an origin story, but it seems like most of the bad guys on Arrow are all dudes in black jackets and dark clothes. I hope that trend doesn't carry over to Flash. At least give him a green coat or something.

Golden Glider. The Rogues need a female villain. She's the sister of one rogue SO of another.

Killing her off in the comics was Dan Didio level stupidipity, even if Didio didn't do it.

Victor Fries, Icecycle...

Victor Fries, Icecycle...

I don't expect to see either of them on this show. Frost, however, already is, and Cold is one of Flash's biggest foes, so I'm fairly certain he'll show up. It'd just be good storytelling to have some sort of connection between these two.

Gotta have the villain bar.

Any chance of Black Flash appearing?

I hope to God not.

These are the two I am most looking forward to!

I wonder how how Mirror Master is going to look on this show. I could see Cold, Heatwave, and Boomerang's outfits being translated fairly well into the show, but Mirror Master's orange and green look might be difficult to make look good. Once again, I must say please don't just slap a black jacket on a guy and call it a day. We've seen too much of that already on Arrow.

Black Flash showing up usually means a speedster's going to die, so no thanks...
