Everything points to Brainiac but you never know with Gunn.

More like you never know with WB lol.
I was watching this video this morning by M Enterprises (can’t repost because of language) and they talked about the “Brainiac Curse” and went through all the times he almost appeared in a movie and then WB pulled the plug. And while most of those movies probably would have sucked at least it might have given Brainy more name recognition outside of comic book and animation fans.
Hopefully it finally happens but I have to admit, when Man of Tomorrow was announced, I was a little disheartened to see that the movie would feature Lex again in a prominent role. I love Lex but I feel like WB views him as Superman’s only marketable villain, aside from Zod (and goddamnit Zod had better not be in this movie; I would rather Toyman be the villain).
Now, Superman and Lex teaming up to defeat a larger threat is interesting and hopefully it IS Brainiac but you could also do that story with Superman and Kara as your co-leads (or just Superman) and have Lex cameo at most. But we’ll see.
I think if Gunn wants to use Brainiac he will. Gunn likes to use more obscure characters though and putting his own spin on them. Hopefully we find out soon.
I guess I've never viewed Lex as just a Superman villain. He's part of his supporting cast. Even before MOT was announced, I always said Lex's story should play out over the course of several movies. Having Clark forced to team up with Lex in the sequel, after what he went through in the last film, is a clever twist.
That last bit of art is horrible. Kara is too busy trying to pretend to be a model while Clark is protecting Kandor from Brainiac. My hope, is that it's Brainiac .

Gunn: we hear you. So we're doing the Injustice Gang and Alexander Luthor.Everything points to Brainiac but you never know with Gunn.
I am more looking forward to seeing Lex meeting Bruce Wayne in the DCU then Superman meeting Batman. That is a good point. Lex is unique in that he’s both Superman’s arch enemy and a part of his supporting cast. That said, I wouldn’t be opposed to a Superman movie where he doesn’t appear at all or just has a cameo.
Yessss!!!! Love this!I hope they'll keep Jon Peter's Skull Ship, even if it's similar to Knowhere.

Mongul?I`m honestly not sure about Brainiac, he feels more like a grand finale villain to me, but I also can't think any other threat that would put Superman and Lex on the same side.
... Can I withdraw my bet?It would. But (take this however you want) but Gunn said on the Stern show that he’s not a big fan of Mxy and prefers Batmite.

Or that Corenswet/Hoult chemistry! We'll see if that translates to success.Nicholas was definitely a secret weapon during the promo era of the first film so 100% they’re not wasting him
