The Virginity Question

I'm glad I lost it relatively early (18) because I didn't want that monkey on my back.

But it's nice when your first is someone you have feeling sfor or at least is very attractive. It makes it an event you fondly remember even if it wasn't the ideal sex.
 
I'm 25 now and I still haven't gone all the way with anyone. I've done lots of other stuff, but there hasn't been anyone who's ever gotten my mojo running enough to want it. At this point it's not even an issue. If someone asks I can always lie my pants off if the situation calls
 
I'm still one myself. Haven't even been kissed yet. I'm 20. I used to be adamant about waiting until marriage, but now I'm less restrictive about it. If it happens before I marry, it happens. If not, it doesn't. But one thing I know for sure, I don't want it to be some one-night fling. I want it to mean something because to me, that sort of thing should. People having sex just to have sex don't bother me. It's just not the decision I'd make. I'd rather it be with someone who I love and who loves me (married or not) that won't turn into a *****e the next morning.
 
But I do admit that I feel a little pathetic that I haven't even been on a real serious date at my age.
 
There's no such thing as a "serious" date before you're twenty.

I think that it is very stereotypical to set an age that people know enough about the world/relationships at. There are plenty of 30+ year olds who have never been on a "serious" date. Age ain't nothin but a number :o

Edit: Now granted, I'll give you that the younger you go, the slimmer the likelihood of any serious date, but to deal in such an absolute as to put 20 as the age where it suddenly becomes "serious" is what I disagree with. I have known plenty of people who have had "serious" dates at the age of 18 and 19, for example. There will almost always be something to break age absolutes due to varying emotional maturity levels.

I'm not a virgin, los tit when I was 17. Had a kid when I was 18, though it was not from the first time. Still with her, my fiance' now.

Part of me has felt like waiting until marriage, while another part believes the same thing as you, in that if it happens than it happens. But when it does happen, I at least want it to be with someone I have some kind of connection to. I don't think I could hook up with some girl and then forget about her the morning after.

Don't worry, I'm 22 and have never been on any kind of date. Heck, during my prom, I asked a friend of mine that I liked out, and she knew I liked her, but she would only agree to be my friend date. But I didn't even get to dance with her once the whole night. So even that "date" wasn't a date.
 
Funny/sad story of one of my failed attempts.

I remember there was this girl that I thought I had no chance with during my first semester in college. I asked her out one day, expecting her to say no, but she said yes. I didn't have anything planned so we went to this pizza shop by my house since its right next to the school. We started walking and stopped at a pet shop. She liked the dogs so I invited her to my place to see my dog. After I got her to my place and into my room, I was waiting for something to happen. I didn't know if I was supposed to take off my clothes first, or if she was. But ultimately nothing happened, which turned out to be not so bad because she ended up getting pregnant by some other dude a while later.
 
i lost mine when i was 21. she was 48 and my friends aunt. im glad i did it. who can say they lost their v card to a cougar? not many.
 
I have yet to lose my virginity(20) and neither has my girlfriend(19). Out of the group we hang out with we're the only one's who haven't had sex.

To me, I'm waiting for someone I like enough to want to go that far. I've had two girlfriends in the past that I pretty much only dated so I could learn what to do and what not to do in a relationship. And it's not like I didn't have the opprotunities to have sex. My first gf when I broke up with her asked if she could call me for booty calls, and my second broke up with me cus after two months I had yet to have sex with her.
 
I've stopped myself from having sex with a virgin on more than one occasion. The risk of them falling in love is too great for a bit of sex.

It's how I rationalize dating them. When I got to college I wasn't used to girls having an interest in me, so I asked them out without relizing I don't really like them. Then BAM two months later I break up with them. Not like I didn't have good reason. The first girls just kep telling me if I break up with her I'll turn gay like her past boyfriends, one of which is my best friend here, and the other just talked about another guy everytime we were around each other.

The third is the first girl I've ever felt a real interest in from the start, and honestly, I hope to stay with her a long time.

Oh Gawd my spelling is terrible. It's way too late.
 
Lost it at 16 at a party to a hot chick. Ahh, good times...good times.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with people who wait. :up:
