It was. He wanted out of his contract, so they killed him off.

That's a shame. It's one thing when a character death is the tragic resolution of a well-built storyline that was always building up to that point. But it's a lot more disappointing when it is hastily prompted by outside factors, leaving the death as the truncation of a character arc rather than its natural conclusion.

**MASSIVE SPOILERS**

[BLACKOUT]Word is coming in that someone is dying in the season finale, and it's not who you think.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Shane will be dying this Sunday (not the season finale), and rumor has it that next week (the finale) will end with the death of.... [/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]RICK!!![/BLACKOUT]

That's right. No B.S. [BLACKOUT]Apparently Andrew Lincoln is still infuriated with Frank Darabont's departure, that Rick Grimes himself is being killed off. He's apparently content with this decision, because he no longer wants involvement with AMC.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Season 3 will be the continuation without Rick. Michonne will be introduced as the new leader of the group, and The Governor will be introduced too. The group will be living at the prison.[/BLACKOUT]

Once again, this is no B.S. :wow:

The second half doesn't seem as legit...

that latest spoiler news...[BLACKOUT]Sooo just have Michonne show up and become leader, no build up? A dead Rick and we would have to put up with a live Lori and Carl with out Shane or Rick to keep them in check? Not to mention a live T-Dog Nopes...not if they want to keep people watching.[/BLACKOUT]

Lol that spoiler tagged information sounds so bogus...They want to lose fans as fast as possible, thats the way to get it done

There's no way they kill off [blackout]Rick[/blackout]

Haha, Fox Crime just showed everything that was going to happen in the next episode. Do they air the same promos on AMC?

no way in hell
Rick gets killed off

i will seriously stop watching the show if this happens

In regards to the spoiler (though I think most people can guess what it says given everyone's reactions). The only way I'd buy it being plausible is if the people involved in the show really are that ticked off at Darabont's firing. Even then though, I can't see it happening, mostly because

I think AMC would throw tons and tons of cash at Lincoln, because they know he's their main character and the series protagonist, and they're not going to want to compromise this show because it's a cash cow and it's huge right now. And I have a hard time imagining that Lincoln is really THAT peeved that they canned Darabont.

Yeah the man is not going anywhere he is the guy on the show. Be no point in killing him off.

no way they kill off rick! if he wanted to leave they would trow tons of money at him or they would recast! this show is a cash cow right now amc aint that stupid if they did season 3 would be the last season because no one would watch!

Is that pic real? Looks odd. The bottom left corner looks like someone colored something over in Paint? The black area. Maybe I'm seeing things.

a lot to cover tonight, wish they made it special with limited commercial interruptions.

whoa, first 3 some minutes were a bit extreme dead killing

This opening is like Inglorious Basterds, but with zombies instead of Nazis. :o:up:
