That was a much, much better episode than most of the first half of the season was. They really decided to roll out the big deaths/life changing events all in this episode.

Lol some of you are such nitpickers but it's all good.

When Sam got bitten I thought it was him having a fear-filled day dream sequence but when it turned out it was actually happening I was overcome with so much joy...then the mum gets it and then Michonne guts the other brother....what a fantastic and satisfying episode.

Great episode. Loved seeing those two prick kids die. F*** yeah Michonne!!!! Shame about Jessie, but only because she was nice to look at. Her character was pretty bland overall. LOVED seeing Darryl take out Negan's goons. I did NOT see that coming. Also, loved seeing Carol take out Max Landis Wolf. That guy was the worst.

Glen has more lives than a cat but is still think

There saving his real Death for Negan

Oh yeah and got to love the unlimited amount of ammo in that firearm they gave Glenn when he attempted to save Maggie from that platform. It puts Hershel’s unlimited ammo rifle from the season 2 finale to shame, but he at least reloaded.

Not that hard to believe honestly. Considering some 9mm handguns can hold around 16 rounds. Some more than that if you get an extended clip (I have one).

Hershel's shotgun however... was an unlimited ammo cheat unlocked.

I think TWD deserves alot of this kinda criticism but I also think you are coming down a little to hard on this first season. It really moved for me. Especially the start.

This episode was insanely good. One of the show's best. Pulled no punches, brimming with action and tension, and so many great character moments.

I hope the season can continue this standard.

Yeah I figured that kid was going to be the one to go...didn't think he'd take the whole family down with him.

I'm not sad to see Sam's a-hole brother die. Jessie was a decent character though. Much better than the other female counterpart in the comic.

The first episode or two were fine but it quickly stalled from there when they went several episodes of passing only a day showcasing what the once again scattered group was doing. It didn't pick up until the midseason finale and then it was done for several months.

My only question was what did the kid do to attract the walkers? He was still covered in guts. Was he making noise? I couldn't tell

What a great episode. Taking Negan's goons out like that was hysterical. The Jessie family death scene was really well done; Rick's horror at watching her get swarmed and then chopping her hand off to save Carl was intense. I shot up out of my seat and said "Oh ****!" when Carl looked up and muttered "Dad?" I loved seeing Rick calmly walk outside and start to destroy walkers, and seeing the townspeople rise up and follow him (especially Gabriel and SuperMullet) was gruesomely heart warming. Overall this was one of their best episodes.

I have to agree, this is definitely in the top 5 best ep's they've put out.

Man this was tough to sit through, but the comedy in the episode was great. The walkers just popping into frame to kill Sam felt like a Naked Gun-gag, Carl getting his eye shot was also hysterical. Gabriel giving his motivation speech at the church was also hilarious, and then Rick's speech to Carl over soaring post-rock at the end was another groaner.

At this point I don't even know why I still watch it, either I like self-torture or I just want to finish what I've started. All those hours invested, I wanna at least get closure.

Also kinda feel like this wouldve made a stronger mid-season finale than premiere. But... whateva. I'm not in charge.
Agreed. “No Way Out” was a better mid-season finale than mid-season premiere, imo. It was a really good episode but it was basically the mid-season finale AMC delayed for two months, imo. Now that everything's been settled I'm really looking forward to next week's ep.

Was Sam's death the first on-screen death of a child in the show? Not counting Sophia, since she was already a walker, and we didn't actually see Lizzie kill Mika or later get shot herself.

MJ, I was literally thinking those same words when I saw his post .

Chris Hardwick is right. This was one of the best episodes of TWD. Even after all the chaos, that ending scene hit me right in the feels.
I don't have cable anymore; get my Walking Dead fix via iTunes. Do you (or anyone else) know where/how I could watch Talking Dead? I miss geeking out with Hardwick and Co after the episodes.
