The Walking Dead "The Walking Dead" General Stuff & Thaaaangs Thread - Part 8

AMC marathon is up to Season 2. I had forgotten about T-Dog finding the bloody baby seat when they were stranded on the highway. :csad:

I thought the more obvious plot hole was how Michonne ended up bumping into Daryl so quickly. I streamed it last night so I don't know if there was a commercial break when it was live but I was like WTF when they bumped into each as soon as Merle let her go.

Well Daryl was meant to be tracking them, but still it was pretty shoddy editing. If they'd even shown him on the road for a few seconds examining car tracks or whatever, the transition would have been a bit smoother.

What about the fact that Daryl was able to jog all the way to Woodbury in no time flat, all the while looking completely fresh from his trip?

Was the meeting place in Woodbury? Either way, minus the hiding parts, Andrea got back to the prison pretty quick, same with Merle going to the meeting place, aside from the hot wiring and constant braking. Daryl just ran and only stopped to talk to Michonne.

I assumed the meeting place was halfway between Woodbury and the prison.

They need to release a freaking map for the show, because this just confuses me more and more.

The only time the "map" annoyed me was Rick taking an afternoon drive to his hometown to see Morgan. That was a little troublesome. Because that was kind of important, that Rick left him behind and yet he's only like a two hour drive away.

Yeah the geography of the show is really terrible. I mean, at the end of season 2 the prison was just over that creek they were settled in for the night. But it took them 8 months of running around in circles to find it.

It's like the TARDIS. The distance looks smaller on the outside. :awesome:

I thought so too, but I think it was T-Dog who had a line in the premiere about how they were basically going from house to house, and it sounds like they never got very far over the winter, or were getting pushed back by herds from making any real progress.

I was surprised how close the prison seems to be to Rick's hometown. Less than a day's drive at least. Makes you wonder why he was so surprised when they discovered the prison, especially since he'd been a cop.

It's Georgia, the winters are fairly mild. You put on a sweater and go about your business. The way they make it sound, you have to wonder how they would survive in a place like New York where it actually snows.

More than likely the writers really haven't put much thought into the geography of the show.

"I don't know. I hear Nebraska's nice." :word: (Just off of the Marathon)

Rick at his most badass. I hope he gets some of that swagger back sooner than later.

I was missing it, but then he called the Governor "the town drunk." :woot:

Yeah I thought that has well, he was a cop so he should know where all the local prisons are...

I don't know if you guys watch the HISHE (how it should have ended) on youtube but for episode 15 I would do something like this....

"Yeah but I know you Rick. Yeah I've been thinking a lot about you. You don't have the stomach for this."
"You're right Merle, gotta plan or how about we bounce some ideas off each other with the rest of the group to take this bastard down."

Bang - Merle lives to fight another day. But no; let's go with plan A where one of the best characters on the show gets killed off because of another bad Rick decisions. :wall:

I thought this as well at first, but then I saw it from a different view. My thinking is that he probably knew of the prison, but it never occurred to him that it could be a potential safe haven. We are conditioned our whole lives to think of prisons as an undesireable place, so it doesn't surprise me that he wouldn't think of heading there. It wasn't until he actually saw it, that it clicked and he realized the potential.

Exactly. It wasn't like it was a place he could easily get to, and with everything else going on I imagine that it just hadn't dawned on him until they actually saw the prison that it might be a safe place.
