I can't believe you guys haven't heard of that, which tends to be true FYI. Put it this way, when they go back to the prison, they ain't all going back but I can guarantee you Darryl will. :o

We've all heard of that cliche, I just dont think it's always true

No one said It's always true but I'd say around 85-90% of the time it is. Are you willing to bet that out of those four, they'd kill Darryl now?

If they kill anybody, they'll kill Bob.

Tyreese isn't gonna die this early after getting an arc started for him.

No but I'd also not be willing to bet that they'd kill Tyrese or Michonne

If anyone goes, it's Bob. And that's really unlikely too. He was immediately added to the main cast, they're not going to set his character up and kill him four episodes in. That group's gonna be OK.

I agree. Even when Tyreese was surrounded, I knew he was going to be OK. Daryl and Michonne are just too popular to kill. Bob? Maybe someday, but it's just too early.

Two observations upon 2nd viewing:

It was great to see Carol front kick a walker. Kicking and tripping walkers needs to happen more often.

I'm guessing the scene with Tyreese waiting until the walkers surrounded the car to fight them single-handedly was based on the gym scene in the comics.

They'll all make it back. It's a supply run and while there is always a danger of being bitten and/or eaten it's not a guaranteed death sentence for someone in the group.

It's also interesting to note it was Daryl with two black men and a black woman on this run and no one else. He wasn't as bad as his brother Meryl but there was a touch of racism and mysognism in him at the beginning of the series. Now that seems to have been all but eliminated from him.

Just like Carol, he's really grown a lot as a character compared to his start.

The show has just been renewed for a fifth season, as per the TV guy for Entertainment Weekly

“We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season. This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently – and most notably – with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here’s to more Dead.”

Yep. We had two light-comic references in this ep. The Rich/Tyreese fight and the Tyreese taking out tons of zombies on his own.

Unfortunately, neither were as impactful as the events in the comics, but it was nice to see the homage.

About the least surprising renewal to a show yet.

Not a bad thing. Despite some zombie shambling episodes, I've liked what I've seen of it and this season has been a major improvement.

I'll agree with that. I'm liking what I've seen so far. But I'm just hoping the showrunners will start having the balls the comics do when it comes to the truly shocking events/deaths that occur. They've been handling the show with kid gloves so far (in relation to the content of the comics).

I'm so surprised, you guys. :o

Yeah I thought for sure this wasn't going to get a 5th season. After Season 4's record breaking premiere.:o

On a serious note, I'm very surprised that Scott Gimple gets to return as showrunner next season. Knowing AMC's track record for replacing showrunners each season. Good for Gimple he's doing a pretty good job so far, imo.

Season and a half.

Darabont - Season 1 + first half of season 2
Mazarra - second half of season 2 + Season 3

Provided AMC doesn't chuck Gimple out halfway through S5, they may be breaking the trend.

TWD Is TV's Number 1 Show - Why Aren't It's Stars Famous?

Odd article... the writer seems to be under the impression that movie roles = being famous. I like Kit Harrington and all, but Pompeii has bomb written all over it, and I don't think it will contribute an ounce to his "fame" if he had any to begin with.

Yeah, I guess you can count Jon Bernthal... he has two movies this year and starring in Mob City.

They're as famous as the fans of Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Glee, Supernatural, etc. etc. etc...

And TWD is doing big numbers in cable... which would still be a cancellation if it were broadcast network instead.

I think the problem here is the bubble effect. We're all in a bubble here. We can tell you who is starring in what but go ask the average person who doesn't watch all these shows (ie; anyone out of the bubble) and they would ask you, "Who? On what show?"

I don't think ANY network would cancel a show pulling in 12 million viewers.

Is it still consistently pulling those in? I don't keep track of them except that it did huge on the premiere. Maybe it would still be on network television but it's ratings demographic is still more important than the viewer numbers to the networks. If half of those 12 million aren't in that important 18-35 range then it's effectively 6 million viewers of importance as far as they're concerned.

I would be very surprised if the majority of TWD viewers weren't in the 18 to 35 range.
