The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 8 "Too Far Gone" Discussion Thread

They already did the whole "Hey, look at all these characters you don't care about dying!" thing with the flu at the prison. We're losing people we actually care about next sunday. Bet on it.

In one of the shots they showed during Talking Dead it showed Maggie with blood all over her hands holding Judith. I could be mistaken that this shot hasn't happened yet but, [blackout]most of us know how things turn out for Little Asskicker.[/blackout]

You mean this? It's from Killer Within.

I really think this will be The Governor's last hurrah. I don't think anyone is expecting it will how recently he was introduced back and with this only being the midseason finale, but that's why I think it's the perfect time to do it.

I would gladly watch The Governor behead Tyreese.

It wouldn't have the same sort of weight.

I think next episode might well be the last hurrah of P-Gov.

I have a feeling he might kill Herschel too.

at this point I have no problem with The Gov beheading Tyreese, he has been disappointing.

But wouldn't you rather see him behead someone who will elicit an emotional reaction, and give Tyreese the chance to become a better character?

Yeah, I say switch Tyreese with Herschel and then I could see it happen.

[blackout]I think Herschel will die, but Daryl being in comic Tyreese's place would be mindblowing.[/blackout]

The fangirls would ***** about it, but the need to be aware that they don't dictate the story being told, the storytellers do. :o

Now that I think of it... I hope that happens. lol

Still think it could be Carol.

Also, anyone think that Lily will be pregnant with the Governor's baby by the time Rick takes them in?

Yeah, I think there's a chance Carol shows up in the next episode.

we wont see carol to the back 8 episodes I bet along with morgan

I've been hoping he would do this for a while now. If I knew for sure they were going to have moment happen I would bet that they'd do it to [BLACKOUT]Hershel[/BLACKOUT] simply because the show doesn't have the balls the comic does. And the evidence seems to point to that. [BLACKOUT]The Gov mentioned that Rick's group will notice their men are missing soon, in that extended clip on Talking Dead, Hershel and Michonne are the closest to him, so I'm betting they'll get captured, but the Michonne will escape, and the Gov will use her Katana to off Herschel's head. I've been thinking Hershel might be gone soon after that Heshcel centric episode they had a while back. If they have the guts to axe the baby and Hershel, I'll be happy. If they axe Daryl and the baby, I'd be floored. It would be Red-Wedding caliber in terms of shock value.[/BLACKOUT]

I don't quite agree with that. Killing [blackout]Hershel and Judith[/blackout] would be quite Red Wedding level. Killing [blackout]Daryl[/blackout] would be beyond that. Killing him would be like killing Tyrion, with the amount of fan-love he gets.

But the more I think about it.... it's not happening. They've put too much time into making [blackout]Carol/Daryl[/blackout] an important relationship on this show for them to not even get a proper goodbye.

I'm not sure about that. The characters killed in the Red Wedding were probably more popular than say Herschel. But I would agree that I'm not sure if any of them reach the popularity of someone like Daryl. But some were close.

However, I don't think it's going to happen at all. It would be epic, and it would show that the show has the same gahonies that the comic does, but the show has yet to kill off a popular character that people really like. So I'm not holding my breath.

I'm going with:
Beth taking the Lori spot when Judith dies. Then that might scar Carl double. I wonder if he will lose his eye in all this?

I'm on the it's Hershal bandwagon for the beheading death if there is one. Which looks likely from the tease we've seen. He's the most obvious candidate for all the reasons listed: Was outside the prison, had a very centric and heroic episode recently, he's missing part of a leg, he's also been with the group for a long time now.

The major thing I think losing him would do besides devestating everyone emotionally is they lose their doctor, even if he is technically only a veternarian.

Yeah, the preview definitely made it look like Hershel will either get captured or killed early in the episode. I hope he doesn't die because he's become one of my favorite characters but... it just seems like it has to happen.

Did he die in the comics?
