The Amazing Spider-Man The Web Fluid: Stolen, or bought? Oscorp, or not?

Yea, but that doesn't explain why he said he developed the webbing himself.

Seriously, do you NOT want Peter to have developed the webbing himself or something?

Doesnt matter what he said, he didn't create the webbing himself. At the most he modified what was already there.

The super web is organically spun by engineered spiders and packed by the few hundred yard into compressed cartridges. These are facts shown in the movie, everything else about him changing the chemicals in the web are all unproven.

Modifying the bio-cable into webbing form = making webbing

Yes, it's unproven, that's why this is theory.

Are you trying to ruin my fun or something?

Um, are they not in webbing form when they are naturally spun by the engineered spiders?

They are spiders...they already make webbing.........

I don't think the bio-cable is the same webbing that Peter uses :/ *shrug*

there's nothing to say that the bio cable isn't the same webbing Peter uses

Okay, but there isn't any proof that directly contradicts it. What's wrong with theories?

After seeing it yesturday, I definately think that he ordered it online. He watches the oscorp video beforehand, and the box that he opens looks exactly like they use to deliver, with the white label and everything. (so he probably ordered it directly from Oscorp.)

As for the web-fluid itself, I think he may have put another chemical agent in to soften the cable slightly maybe, or to modify it slightly as the web-shooters do give off a puff of smoke.

At the end of the day I don't think it's something that MUST have been adressed, no one apart from us really cares or looks that much into the scene. :funny:

At first, I thought the webbing was the bio-cable. But now I'm not so sure. I wish Webb was more in depth of how Peter developed the webbing or modify it from the Oscorp invention of bio-cable.

i think it was the editing

Yeah, unfortunately. I hope they put the extra scenes in the DVD/Blu-Ray.

Because there isn't anything that supports that he did, had they panned the camera across a table with a cartridge next to a chemistry set then maybe you could say that. But what's in the movie says that he got the webbing from Oscorp.

Yes, that's what it says, but it also says Peter made the webbing himself.

Dude, why can't you just accept that there are two different, but each possible theories?

it is also possible that Peter was lying to a car thief

Yea, I know it's possible he's lying, I just don't think he was.

Note, I said that the theory I stated was MY top theory. It's what I think is most likely, but it's also what I want the most, so I dunno, maybe it's just bias?

It's some mental gymnastics going on, is what it is. When a movie forces you to fill in a plot inconsistency that could have easily been addressed, that's a sign of a bad film making.

no, but you are being contradictory

sorry my autocorrect is doing that

My posts mean
I feel that bio cable is the same webbing Peter uses

and that there is a chance that Peter was lying to the car thief

I sort of want to change this into a general Oscorp topic.. :/

Because I think Oscorp in this universe is going to be focused on, and it almost seems like it'll be the Stark Inc./Wayne Co. of Spider-Man, just more evil and not owned by the hero.

Maybe in the second movie we'll see either the OsPhone from the game or the OsBerry from TSSM? :P

Err..

I like mental gymnastics.

but you cant try and disprove one theory by saying there was nothing in the movie indicating said theory, and then go and propose another theory thats just as baseless.

thats all im sayin.

though in general movie rules, characters dont lie unless explicitly shown to be doing so.
