The Wes Bently/Blackheart Thread

Unholy Satan!
That´s...just cool!
Really nice to see one of my biggest worries about the movie fading out: the villains.
They will be very cool.
And very bad, as it seems.
Nice work, mr. MSJ.

Mephisto isn't looking too shabby either.

I like it a lot,yes it can be argued they look Blade-ish but that's hard to avoid with human form demon characters.
As long as the CGI on his Demon form is first class then everything should be fine in the BH department as his human look is great IMO

I don't understand these comments on how it looks Blade-ish? What does that exactly mean? Whatever it is, I have no idea how you're coming to that conclusion. It reminds me nothing of Blade.

Blackheart costume is pretty sweet actually. It reminds me of old Victorian wear but mixed with a western look. All the costumes are great in fact.

I think by Blade-ish they mean more of a cliche vampire look. But it looks great to me.

You see, I don't get vampire from that at all. Interesting.

Oh... yeah. I guess zombies, ghosts and mimes all remind them of Vampires too then eh? hehe.

"You've come to start the war. I've come to win the war." Great line.

Indeed it is. The relationship between Meph and Blackheart is awesome and I think they'll do that justice in the movie... though I only get that from that line so far.

I also really love Wes's eyes man. They're so dead and his huge eyebrows really work for this character.

I myself was worried from the announcement of human form Blackheart but from what I saw from Wes it is looking very promising. He can certainly play the creepiness part well. From that line he comes off as pompous and arrogant and I like that.

Aye Cap'n, me too. I really like him as an actor (from American Beauty of course) and was personally thrilled when I heard he was attached. Plus, I have faith in MSJ and his directing so he'll be able to bring whatever's needed out of the actors.

You're right though, pompous and arrogant is Blackheart. I like it too!

Meh they look to human.

i fully expected them to look 100% human for most of the film..only makes sense since if they are not trying to attract too much attention to themselves. im just hoping that when they fight GR they change to thier true demon forms which i also hope will be quite monstrous.
i can imagine that most of the cgi money will go for GR himself (and the bike)...since they should take up most of screentime.

i also guess that the dude w/ the sharp teeth (seen in the comic con trailer) is Abigor...since it looked like he had dreadlocks. i wonder if those clothes are part of the demon's actual skin...kindve like how the T-100 morphed his body to look like clothes. BH's coat has a wierd black shine to it and could actually be his skin. could also explain why Abigor has a fur trim around the collar...could be something like a mane.
just an idea though...

Well the guy with the dreads should be Blackheart as he resembles Blackhearts demon form. I just think that they should barely pass a human.

Think of their human form as a disguise because that is the point.

That sounds like a solid idea to me BG. It would be much like Mystiques morphing in X-men I assume. Great thinkin' there.

I don't know anything about Abigor though. Can anyone help me out with that?

I thought MSJ was going for demons of the elements. Am I wrong?

So Wallow shouldn't look wet then?

Ever think that the picture is after the scene where Wallow and Ghost Rider have their underwater fight??

That may be but thats not what I asked. If he did appear wet through out the movie he would look better, I don't think he should walk around dripping wet but kinda damp looking. Someone immediatly identified him as Wallow from the pic because of that.
If most people were shown a picture of Blackhearts demon form first then his and Abigors human forms who do you think they would pick as Blackheart? Honestly.

I agree that Abigor's locks remind me of Blackheart's tendrils but it also does look like a mane, as BG was suggesting. I assume that BH's demon form will not be exactly like his comic version but it still might be. It all depends on how they view those tendrils. Paying homage to them would be perfect... small spikes on his head instead of long ones. Something like that.

As for Wallow, I really love that he looks like he's been soakin' in water forever. His skin looks great that way and I assume he'll always have that look, which is fine by me.

The more i see the new picture the more i think BH will mantain somewhat his eyes... i think that hard makeup is a hint about BH eyes...but i fear from his costume we will get a more "smooth" version of BH demon skin....something like a snake maybe?
Abigor is way too furry to look like BH...he looks almost like Beastman of Masters of the Universe IMHO..:P
