Ever see a movie years ago but can't remember what it was? That's what this thread is about. And I'll start with a few movies that I've seen many years ago, but do not know anything else about them.

Movie 1: Gangster Film

I saw this movie probably in the late 90's/early 2000's when I was young. It was on television so I know it was probably somewhat old, but it looked like a 90's movie.

This film opens up with a bunch of people celebrating a man's birthday. They're talking, everyone looks happy, and the guy blows out the candles on his cake. At some point, these gangsters bring him to a playground and kill him (with guns, I think) and he dies on the merry-go-round.

I literally remember nothing else about the film. Does anyone recall what movie this is?

Movie 2: Horror Film

There is a film that opens up with a man doing laps in an indoor swimming pool. After going back a few points, he goes underwater and suddenly his leg is handcuffed to the ladder. He is stuck underwater and drowns. I was so frightened that I turned it off and never finished it, but a decade later and I keep wondering what this movie is?

This was easily a 70's-80's film.

Movie 3: Horror/Sci-Fi film

This is a film about a man who appears to be some sort of beast, and he does not die. He's lived for centuries (I think) and now finds himself in modern day. He makes friends with an attractive girl (I remember her being a blonde, but that could be false memory). There is a scene where she mentions she sleeps with him and she's wearing lingerie. He gets tired of living and at the end of the film, he finds a way to die and she watches with a group of people.

This looked like it could have been a late 80's/90's movie.

==================

If you are familiar with the movies I mentioned above, please let me know! And ask about movies that you've seen that you can't remember but want to know about.

There's a movie I used to watch when I was younger, but I don't remember much of it.

All I know is that the movie had a robot (I think it was a gold robot) and the main villain at the end says "Tonight, victory will be mine." I know it's not much to go on, but yeah.

I'm also very uncertain of this, but I think john rhys davies was in this movie (as I kid I remembered him because I knew him as sallah from Indiana Jones). But I looked at his filmography and wasn't able to find anything like it.

I remember my teacher told me once about a movie where in the climax the protagonist finds some artifact (I remember him saying it was a mirror) that is supposedly all-knowing, and he asks it what the meaning of life is. I remember thinking it sounded really profound and I want to watch it but I have no idea what the movie is. Not much info but maybe someone has an idea.

Heartbeeps maybe?

There was this animated film that I used to borrow from the library all the time, and it was very bizarre.

This movie was made through either claymation or some sort of stop motion animation. I remember it being very colorful. But it could have also been made of computer graphics (early CGI) and I'm remembering it wrong.

The movie started with this nerdy looking kid sitting at his computer. He had glasses I think, and the film would start with him typing on his computer and looking at these strange graphics and shapes. It would then transition into different segments of objects or being doing weird things. From what I remember, this is absolutely no dialogue in this movie. It would every so often cut back to this kid on his computer. I'm trying to remember what the actual segments were, but my gosh I can't remember any good details! The entire movie in my memory looks like an acid trip.

If I recall, the kid's name was also in the title of this movie. [INSERT NAME]'s World, something like that.

This was likely a straight to VHS film, and I think it was short, too. Probably from the 90's or early 2000's. My memory of this film is so fuzzy but it's another one that's driving me nuts.

This isnt a movie. But likely the series. I remember watching it on TV during 90's. Likely it is either 80's or 90's show.

I couldnt find series anywhere. But it's series of likely with some sci fi elements. And it was in spirit likely to Twilight Zone or The Third Eye (TV series) or some similar series. I remember series having some big green stones who glowed on some specific moments. And some people who wanted to discover mystery of them I think. I couldnt find it.

I'm guessing it was an anthology show if it's like Twilight Zone? Was it Tales From the Crypt or Tales from the Darkside? Any recollection of the series intro?

I remember when I was a kid flipping through the channels...I came across a much older movie that seemed to be horror-esque... I remember a shot of a stair case...and a young kid watching a rat...or perhaps the rat was watching him.

That's literally all I got. Seemed like...BBC-ish. I don't know why but it terrified me. I changed the channel and left the room, I was probably around 6. The few seconds I saw gave me the impression the youngster was locked in that room and the rodent was getting hungry.

Actually, I don't know if I want to know what film or show this was...haha. It is funny though how our brains can latch onto something so obscure.

Could it have been Amazing Stories?

There was a Twilight Zone series in the 80's as well, and I think the same goes for Outer Limits.

There was a movie I saw on TV as a kid in the early-mid '90s in which a bunch of regular people would turn into creatures, I think at night. There were good creatures and bad creatures and I think one of the lead good characters was a caucasian man with glasses and a mustache, who may have been a teacher and I think he turned into a really large caterpillar-looking creature. I think it may have been a horror movie or horror tv movie. The movie took place in a big city. Any idea?

There's another movie I saw on tv in the 90s in which I think a married couple go to this old rich guy's mansion and it has chutes they fall through?

You could be thinking of Nothing But Trouble.

I kept thinking of this today... driving me nuts.
