Movies that were blatantly plagerized

I hope you're not serious.

As serious as the dumbass allegations of The Incredibles ripping off Fantastic Four.

Jessica Alba's Lover is a rip-off of Michael Weatherly.

Well, one very obviously plagerism I can think of is Disney's The Lion King, ripping off a classic Japanese anime series called Kimba, the White Lion. Aside from the fact that TLK's protagonist is called Simba (which, not surprisingly, is similar to Kimba), TLK features characters that almost all can be traced back to Kimba the White Lion. Disney claimed that they didn't know the existence of Kimba when they made TLK, but that's a blatant lie.

Let's see. Both are about superhero families whose archnemesis has a problem mainly with the male leader.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Incredibles but it's a blatant ripoff of the Fantastic Four comics.

THE ARCHNEMESIS HAS A PROBLEM MAIN WITH THE MALE LEADER?! Sorry, but Fantastic Four did not create that. Sorry, that's not rip-off, plagiarism or any crap like that.

That's about every mainstream superhero comic in existence.

Superhero families have been done outside of The Fantastic Four as well. They don't have ownership over that either.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Incredibles but it's a blatant ripoff of the Fantastic Four comics.

Fantastic Four is a blatant rip-off of Justice League and JSA.

Mr. Fantastic is a blatant rip-off of Plasticman

So Fantastic Four sucks and is bull**** because its a rip-off of DC Comics. So they should get sued.

I do agree with you. I love The Incredibles but it is very clear to me that it took way too many ideas from FF to be a coincidence. Both TI and FF share similarities such as the team based on a family unit, have powers that mirror each other (except for Dash), and a villain who has no superpowers but used his intelligence to create a suit that gives him abilities like a superhero, and has a deep hatred toward the leader of the team, etc.

But TI was a better movie than FF...way better.

a Sharks tale was a copy off a Finding Nemo

The Island was like the Same thing as THX 1138

Jessica Alba's Lover is the same thing as Michael Weatherly.

charlie and the chocolate factory is a rip off of A movie called willy wonka and the chocolate factory, And dont get me started about this book that they BOTH ****ing ripped off of!!

um... besides the fact that they both took place underwater, what did they have in common?

i agree that fox probably said "hey, Nemo was successful, let's make an underwater cgi movie, too!" but they didn't copy Nemo's story at all.

But when someone on the internets says "this movie ripped off that movie" then damn it, it MUST BE TRUE!!

Except Timon & Pumba. There's no doubt in my mind that they're a Disney-fied Ren & Stimpy.

You're right, I'm sorry.

The whole Matrxi/Dark City always gets people fired up though :D Unfortunately for me, I am one of those people :(

Am I the only one who saw the trailer for Accepted and thought of Camp Nowhere?(I'm not saying they blatantly plagiarized it,I'm just saying there are similarities)

Well, don't forget, The Lion King was also a loose rip-off of Hamlet too.

Another one that looks to be a rip-off is this new movie coming out soon where these girls go spelunking and get attacked by monsters (sorry, don't remember the name), but it looks to be just a rehash of "The Cave," which was also just a stupid rip-off of a dozen or so other horror movies.

IIRC,Monkeybone was a pretty shameless rip-off of Cool World.

I guess I don't need to mention the Matrix and Dark City. Oh, darn. I did. Shucks. Well, whatareyagonnado?

The Island is based on a story by Phillip K. Dick I believe and I doubt he was thinking about THX 1138 when he wrote it, if indeed the movie had come out when he wrote it. However, I did hear that the movie was unfaithful to the story so who knows. I didn't see it. And you know, the premise of THX 1138 does seem to be similar to a Dick story in many ways.

Obvious cases of plagiarism:

-"The Chronicles of Narnia" copied "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Wizard of Oz"

-"The New World" is a copy of Disney's "Pocahontas"

-"Sky High" is a copy of the comic book "Astro City"

-"Sin City" (the movie) is a copy of "Pulp Fiction" (which is not surprising, given that Rodriguez and Tarantino are friends)

WOW! All wrong.
The Chronicles of Narnia was written almost at the exact same time as The Lord of the Rings. Narnia is very christian tale, where as LOTR is far from christian. The Wizard of Oz was an allegory about the economy and politics of 1890's America, The film was an allegory about The Great Depression. Narnia is a comment on WWII, LOTR is a comment on well... Nothing. This argument is pointless.

The New World can't possibly plagerize Pocahontas, because unlike Pocahontas, The New World is historically accurate, and a better film.
Plus they are based on the same historical event, which negates the whole plagerism argument.

I don't remember reading about a school for Superheroes in Astro City.

You should say Pulp fiction actually plagerized Sin City, because the Graphic Novels came out 3 years before Pulp Fiction. I don't see any similarities between the two also.

Actually,The Island is an extremely blatant plagiarization of Parts: The Clonus Horror.

Here's a pretty telling comparison

Not to be nit-picky,but that's not exactly true.Tolkien hated allegory, and was very adamant that LOTR was just a story, with no subtext or hidden meaning whatsoever.

Well...
You helped me prove my point even further.
Thanks:up:

La Femme Nikita (French version) V.S. Point of No Return. The dialogue in Point of No Return was exactly the same as the English subtitles fom the French version, the action was the same, the characters were the same, the whole damn story was the same! I'm just glad I saw the French version way before I saw this rip-off.

The only thing the Incredibles did was take the idea of a superhero family unit.
