Well I hear a lot of people saying that they arent happy about Rogue in X3. I know I am not happy about is. And Anna isn't I heard.

My question is.

How would your Rogue be in X3.

What would be her first scene?
Her other scenes?
Her last scene.

So lets disccus about it :D

Personally all Rogue had to do was touch Jean somehow in the beginning of the movie with her being knocked out through most of it & she wakes up she gains more poer (permnately) by the end of the movie then she flies out of the mansion to the final battle (now with super strength) & as she flew out wesee some random student say "Fly Rogue Fly" & Rogue along with Angel would have joined the damn battle

The perfect Rogue in X3 would be... she goes to get the cure, sees a little girl crying on line, Rogue asks why she is sad and the girl tells her bc her parents forced her to get the cure and she doesn't want it. Rogue goes back to the mansion and either goes with Angel to Alcatraz (how did he get there again?) or with the team, she didn't get the cure bc people were being forced against their will and she wants to stand for something better. At some point in the final battle, Peter battles a bad guy who flies and is super strong, Peter knocks him and Rogue absorbs him and uses the power to help fight. The movie would end with Rogue and Bobby talking and Rogue saying she is happy she didnt take the cure bc now she can fly (the transfer was permanent) she then dumps Bobby bc she decides she needs to make herself happy before she can make anyone else happy and then with a big grin she flies away.

Sounds good to me.
Rogue needed to fly in that god damned film. Explaining it to the non fans? Erm....she's a mutant.....flying for her is a mutation. Explanation enough?

to me, Rogue would go take the cure. Pyro exploded the clinic, and in a desperate act, she busts into the clinic to get a sample. Inside, the fire is consuming and a victim screams for help. Rogue thinks and decides to help the person. After this, she takes a sample from her pocket (she got it before heping the victim) and points it to her elbow. CUT. She arrives at the mansion, we dont know if she's cured or not. She knows about the battle, takes another little jet and flies to Alcatraz with Angel. In there, she absorbs Juggernaut and fights him. She and Kitty defeat Juggernaut together. In the end, she talks with Bobby and tells him she's not sure if she made the right choice. He says she did the right thing and they hug (without touching each other, of course).

I posted a long post in the official Rogue/Anna thread about one possible way Rogue's character could have developed. But that thread is tired and had no responses so I will post an abbreviated version here:

My version of Rogue would have definitely been the type of mutant who did, indeed, take the cure. So I am quite glad that it was decided to have her take the cure in the movie. Rogue is not the proud, strong fierce warrior that other X-men are. Or other mutants for that matter. Diamterically opposite of Rogue is Storm. Always proud and defiant, always unabashedly unapologetic for who and what she is. If someone has aproblem with Storm being a mutant, it's THEIR problem - NOT Storm's. If there's one mutant most comfortable in her shoes, it's Storm. And the least comfortable as a mutant would be Rogue. Her powers have always been a curse. NOT a blessing.

So my Rogue would have taken the cure and moved back to Lousianna to be with her parents.

And there's also another direction Rogue could have went in that involved an older Leech, if the writers would have made him old enough to date Rogue. My Rogue would have basically became addicted to Leech's influence over other mutants. Namely, his influence to nullify Rogue's powers. She would have convinced Leech fall in love with her (some girls have some wicked ways, after all) and they would have lived happily ever after.

But MY Rogue would have taken the cure, just like she did in the movie. And in the movie universe, she would have continued to take the cure. That is, if Leech agreed to continue to donate his blood to Worthington labs so a cure could still be produced for mutants who still wanted the cure even after the events of X3. Maybe the mutant cure program was discontinued after X3. And when the effects were found to be temporary, she would arrange to take the shots when the cure's duration started to wear off.

MY Rogue would have taken the cure, boinked Bobby, fell in love with Leech and happily ride off into the sunset.

(At which point Marie would have given birth to Leech's child. A child that had the ability to PERMANENTLY and instantly absorb & retain the abilities of other mutants. Even from a distance. A child that would inherit ALL the worst aspects of his/her parent's powers.)

That's be MY Rogue. And a possible future for my version of the character.

what i find intriging is how in the comicbook the place where Rogue absorbed Ms Marvel's powers was on the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE.

ahahaha where was final battle? on the golden gate bridge/alcatraz island (the bridge smashed into the island). A wasted oppurtinuity i guess (but X-men the Last Stand/Fox's rushed moneymaker in a nutshell... i still slightly love it though)

eyeyeyeyeyeyeye

There were a lot of small wasted opportunities in X3. But all of them together in no way detracts from the movie in all the ways the little missed moments hurt Superman Returns.

I am grateful that it was decided Rogue would take the cure. Even though there was a deleted scene filmed where she did NOT take the cure. The right direction was taken I feel.

Not according to the critics :p

Those little moments where too little and had no depth or serious emotion to them. I think SR had little moments but they where expanded upon and made the movie meaningful. Personally i loved SR.

all IMO of course. :)

The perfect X3 Rogue is... you leave some of the scenes from the movie in it, but the scene where she goes to get the cure, I would let her think hard about it, and have her return to the mansion uncured before the X-Men leave for Alcatraz.

I read a fan script once where Rogue was in the final battle, and all of the X-Men gave her some of their power. They all touched her at the same time, and she started to display a unique mixture of their powers permanently. It was a scene that really gave her the spotlight, and seemed sorta cool.

It would have been cool if Rogue was in the final battle and stole some random mutant power. But the power would have to be cool.

in the first post of the first forum i ever visited, i presented this idea, in a way to defeat the Phoenix. But another user (whom later i became really good friend with) said that movie Rogue wouldnt support such a display of power, she would go crazy with all the memories and faint due to the massive amount of power. After an extensive, painful and long discussion, i ended up agreeing with her.

You know Rogue greatly regressing in X3 was partially Anna's fault. She chose to take a big role in some other movie that interfered with X3's shooting schedule! Zak Penn said on an interview the role was written around her "Margaret" schedule. So Anna Crapin should be mad at her herself for not getting the action she wanted in X3.:o

ummm no, X3 took forever to get off the ground. Anna signed for Margaret before she was approached with XTLS, so it wasn't Anna's fault. Fox shouldve locked in their actors, director and crew asap, but they didnt

And isn't Anna...
Something like an executive producer for that film???

A misconception.

Anna was never keen on coming back without Bryan Singer. Part of her "deal" was that she would star in Lonergan's film that Fox Searchlight was producing. This same deal was created for Romijn's "Pepper Dennis". They were made to entice the actor's that really had no desire to return after Bryan left.

The cure of Rogue was also political. A way to get Anna out of future films and as the same with Romijn's Mystique.

You are thinking of Blue State.

The producers for Margaret are Anthony Minghella (ie Cold Mountain, Talented Mr. Ripley), Sydney Pollack (ie. The Way we Were, Out of Africa, Tootsie, The Firm and Sabrina), Scott Rudin (ie. Ransom, Clueless, Ms. Soffel, Angela's Ashes, etc..)

I have a similar idea where Rogue is inside about to get the cure when Phoenix (instead of Pyro) attacks the cure clinic. She gets knocked out and a fellow mutant tries to help her and accidentally touches her skin. The contact lasts pretty long until Rogue wakes up and finds him passed out. She realizes what happened and then fire erupts around her. But she doesnt get burned. She puts two and two together and then hears Dr. Rao screaming (she's trapped under a portion of the ceiling that collapsed). We see the dilemma in her eyes and then CUT to Rao trapped under the concrete. She stops crying for help when the ceiling begins to lift up and she sees Rogue there holding it up. Rogue gets her out of the building and the doctor is genuinely grateful. A fireman checks Rogue for burns and obviously finds none.

FIREMAN: Mutant huh?

Rogue nods.

FIREMAN: Well done

And he walks off. Rogue watches him go until Rao starts calling over reporters to gush about her and Rogue quickly disappears from the scene. In a later scene she discovers she can fly and is actually joyous (cue scene of Rogue flying over a park hooting and hollering in joy. Towards the climax she goes back to the mansion after the other X-men have already left and finds Cyclops and Angel arriving from their own journey (Angel finds Cyke at Alkali Lake and they team up). They see whats happening at Muir Island off the coast of Manhattan (instead of Alcatraz in San Francisco) and fly over there with Cyke riding on Angels back. In the end Rogue decides to keep her powers but she breaks up with Bobby, telling him that he's better off with Kitty.

when asked if she would come back, Anna said absolutely yes  and the producers Lauren and Avi werent happy with her taking the cure, a seen in the commentary. I dont think there were politics regarding that, sorry. It was a decision that didnt please almost anyone but the director. Even some executives werent happy with this. I think Anna would come back if asked. Heck, the only complaints she ever made werent about the lack of screentime, the director or whatever. She just wanted a tougher Rogue, involved in more actions scenes in which she wouldnt be a victim, but the active part. And even so, she never made it true words. She just sarcastilly joked about the whininess of the character.
