Same.
I think Venom deserves a second chance.
Not in this trilogy he doesn't.I think Venom deserves a second chance.

agreed.
Venom deserves to be in this trilogy far more than the likes of Rhino, Shocker, or Electro, in my opinion. He could probably carry a whole film by himself better than the three of them could put together.
Venom (done right) is the villain we deserve, but not the one we need right now.
I'd wait until the next trilogy to have Venom.
I don't see the point in waiting too long. Are there really any other big villains even left at this point except Green Goblin and Doc Ock?
Who says we need to have big villains in this trilogy? I'd be happy to see The Lizard, Green Goblin, and Mysterio as the villains in this trilogy.
Because the big villains are the ones worth spending millions of dollars to put on screen. Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom can justify those expenditures without question. Mysterio, Electro, et cetera are questionable at best. So I ask, "Why not use the big villains?"
I'd rather not see villains we saw on screen 10 years ago. That's why I don't necessarily want to see Doc Ock/Venom in this.
However, Green Goblin is probably the only one we'll probably have to see in this trilogy, because of Gwen Stacy. Although, they don't have to kill her in this trilogy if they choose not to, which I would be fine with.
If I recall correctly Venom is what everybody wanted to see the most. He was the whole hype for spiderman 3. Why else would they reboot it after such a well known villian failed ? I honestly think that this reboot is gonna be centered around the symbiote. I mean what other villain has been the most well known spidey villain and always in every show besides the green goblin? Venom is pretty much spideys joker. He's definatly going to show up somwhere. I remeber when people couldnt wait to see venom when spiderman the movie was even first annouced , the first thing on people's minds was how venom would look like.Venom deserves to be in this trilogy far more than the likes of Rhino, Shocker, or Electro, in my opinion. He could probably carry a whole film by himself better than the three of them could put together.
I'd much rather see the cream of the crop than the b-listers. Use the villains that people would be excited for. Why waste my time with the B-list villains when we could see the big stars?
Every time I hear of a new Spider-Man series, I wonder when Green Goblin and Venom will appear and what will be done with them. I don't really give a toss about Shocker, Rhino, or Sandman.
I agree that Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, and Venom should not appear on screen for at least twenty years again like Joker and Lex Luthor did.
Scorpion, Mysterio, Vulture, Kraven, Electro, Chameleon, Kingpin, and Hydroman should really be the only ones on the list for this reboot after the Lizard is used.
My top three choices are in bold.
Agreed. If this is supposed to be a more gritty version of Spider-man,I'd LOVE to see how scary and threatening Venom would be in this series. He's Spidey's most popular villain. It would be a waste not to use the character in this new series. Not just because he was screwed over in part 3(and deserves redemption),but because,as I've said, how popular he is.
yeah, just like Bane is getting his second shot.
they can even introduce Eddie Brock in the sequel and use him as Venom in the third movie.
For me, that would just be boring. I want to see Green Goblin and Venom again. I don't see the need for a reboot if you aren't going to use those characters.
I never really saw a need for a reboot except to make up for what happened in SM3. Green Goblin looked ridiculous in that armored suit, but it was still an adequate movie. The only reason that SM4 was not made was so Disney could not exploit a loop hole in the contract with their new ownership of Marvel characters and make their own movie because production was taking too long to begin with Raimi's crew. I figure using the character that were not in the trilogy is only fair.
I understand why some people aren't a big fan of Venom. The character in the comics was pretty much a one-trick pony. He wanted revenge, he had a horrendous back story, and after his first two stories (which were very good) writers weren't sure what to do with him. It wasn't until the following 90's TAS toon and SSM did we see some writers change the character into something interesting.
And that's the reason why I want to see Venom in a film. He has great potential. He just needs a little tweaking. And you never know what some tweaking can accomplish. Before B:TAS, if you had said your favorite Batman villain was Mr. Freeze, you would have been laughed out of the nerd community. After TAS, Freeze became of Batman's most tragic and interesting villains. And it only took one thirty minute episode to do that. Think of what someone could do with a whole movie with Venom.
