The Wolverine The Wolverine Unleashed Extended Edition Blu-Ray: December 3

can't wait!!!! obviously we know about the extended ninja fight in the 3rd act, but where do you think they will be adding the most footage? I think it will be the 1st act because the 2nd act in the Nagasaki already does take it's time and is "slower" than the other acts.

I just thought, I think most of the 12 minutes WILL be in the 1st act because you have got the yakuza pointing a gun at Logan in the rain scene, maybe more stuff in the Yukon at the start and you have a scene with Shingen and old Yashida where he says in English "You are not the man to lead Yashida" which I found in the Ronin Story Featurette as well as ninjas kneeling before Mariko.

but where do you think they will be adding the most footage?
It's tough to say. In the trailers, there are snippets of Logan being attacked outside the love hotel or something (remember that shot of him shaking on the ground in the rain?), and there was this pic that wasn't seen in the film:

Mangold has also mentioned adding another scene with Hiro Sanada, but I don't think he indicated when in the film that would take place. Also, I think there might be a longer version of the second Nagasaki flashback, probably featuring Logan and Yashida sitting and talking before the sword offering-- early on in this TV spot, there's a shot that points to that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6m-6c4nzFc

In addition to full scenes, we already know that some action sequences are going to be longer and more brutal, 'cause they needed to be trimmed down to get a PG-13 rating. So I'd expect the funeral fight to play out a little bit differently.

Wonder if they filmed two versions of the fight scenes. Hope they don't keep them the same but just add CGI blood

Wouldn't worry about them being the same. Mangold mentioned on Twitter that there would be "action-packed deleted scenes and restored ratings trims."

I hope the movie is peppered with some lines from the trailers/spots that weren't in the theatrical version. "Eternity? You don't know the meaning of the word" is one I like.

I'd like to see Harada's "we will accept your surrender with respect" line from the commercials. In the movie, it was something like,"we thank you for your protection of Mariko, but now you need to make one more sacrifice for the Yashida family." Not that that line was bad, but Logan's response would be funnier to the surrender line.

I would love to see more of the 'family feud' drama with the yashida family in the first act especially with more Shingen scenes because I don't remember many scenes with him and his father (old yashida). That's why I can't wait for "you are not the man to lead Yashida" scene in the Ronin Story Featurette.

:highfive:

My favorite line from the marketing. The one I kept randomly repeating to myself during my everyday life.

Some twitter stuff, nothing special but pretty much how we have figured it out:

@MikeH5856 I think it will be branched. 2:17 will be the approx new length. And unrated.

Interesting, have they mentioned whether it will be a double dip with the EE coming later or will it be part of the 1st release?

I'm just really excited that Fox is allowing this, and that it's near the release date. After all the fan talk of a more violent cut on video and they are going through with it. Very cool.

Hope to see Mangold again in the Wolverine or X-Men franchise. For the most part it's been nothing but solid choices.

I was just thinking that :D. If Mangold's been working on it for these past few weeks, it likely means it'll be released sooner, rather than later.

I'm still hoping this news will arrive along with a steelbook version of the original poster. :D

I hope he directs Wolverine 3, if there's going to be one.

Any word on what an what an alt cover might look like?

I live in the UK, but so far the standard cover that will be released everywhere is the theatrical poster where wolverine is kneeling down with his claws out, but that could change near the release date which is November 18th.

In the UK at HMV, there is a steelbook with the japanese style teaser poster on which I definitely getting :)

Looks like the home video release date in the UK and Ireland is November 18th, according to Zavvi and Amazon UK.

Wait... There is a R Rated version I can buy?

I want it :)
