The Wolverine The Wolverine Unleashed Extended Edition Blu-Ray: December 3

I asked who the Alien fan was, since Wolverine mispronounced "Noburo" as "Nostromo" in one scene (Nostromo is the name of the spaceship in Alien).

That was pretty cool!

He's answered my guestions too a couple of times. A gentleman, cares very much about his craft, loves cinema and stories in general. I didn't catch that "Nostromo" myself. How did I miss that! You've got good ears, ma'am.

Alien might be my favorite film ever, by the way. I'm not sure. It's a battle between "Alien", "Apocalypse now" and "Blade Runner".

So, it looks like my birthday gift will be that Best Buy 3D Special Package edition.

Just looking at the images of it, man the art for this film looks absolutely amazing. The high contrast minimalist cover that looks just as beautiful as it would on a comic book cover, and the beautiful cover that has the black with a red moon, on the best buy box. I haven't watched the movie yet, but I think I can say confidently that they absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark with the promotional art and design of posters/dvd, etc. Just beautiful artwork to look at.

Just finished this. Still a little bit cheesed off I had to get the 3D version (would it really have mattered to make it either a separate release or on the regular blu?) but it was really good! Noticed we still are missing a few things, and it didn't radically change the film or anything, but I quite liked it just as much as I did the first time I saw it.

9/10

Finally got around to watching this..

wow, just wow.

It pieced everything together so perfectly. I loved the original but this is the one I'll be watching from now on/showing to anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet.

The extended version is my favorite of the years so far. Not saying it'll win any oscars, but it's the most enjoyable for me. Catching fire is close.

Extended edition was awesome, really glad Fox decided to release it. That Ninja fight was so much better then the theatrical.

Got to show my Dad the flick, which he really dug. Besides Avengers and Batman my parents really dont dig comic flicks, so I was pretty stoked he enjoyed this. Except for them forgetting who Jean Grey was, TW and FC were the only X flicks I didn't have to explain every detail of what was going on. So thats been nice. My folks are also now convinced by the DOFP trailer that Prof X is the villain. Gonna require some X geek history lessons on that one.

I just bought a copy of the extended edition for my mom for Christmas.

...which will inevitably end up being my dad's copy of the extended edition, but I had to commemorate Mom seeing her first X-Men movie this summer (and she liked it!). :oldrazz:

Nice! My Mom freaked the hell out during the Snow plow Ninja scene haha. Which was awesome. If Jackman wasn't in this she would have bailed. That guy really holds alot of credibility with my parents. They were comparing him to Clint Eastwood which I thought was pretty cool.

As minimal as the extra footage may be, all the extra stabs and language in the extended edition got a good reaction. Some well placed f bombs.

I thought Yukio killing those ninjas with the snow plow (?) was kinda excessive, but that's just me.

And I got the Best Buy Exclusive (the one pictured on this thread). But ever with the same price tag, here in the Canada we didn't get the painted art cards. Ugh.

I should have picked that best buy one up, but already bought it ahead without knowing about it. That case is pretty solid.

Yeah, same happened to me. I may just trade my copy in and use that towards the BRBA set, and just re-buy it lol.

The unrated version added small little things that made it better. That unrated version is the one that I will watch from now on.

Can I just say that this movie gets so better with each viewing!

I saw it last night and man, its just amazing and I still can't believe a Wolverine movie became one of my fav movies ever.

And btw, when the mid-credits scene started rolling, my sister stood up and she was paying attention to the whole scene.

Yes you most certainly can!:woot:

I know its hard to believe a year ago I was like "oh great another Wolverine film, that will suck". Never been more glad to be wrong!!:woot:

Just goes to show, the director does make a difference.

I kept hope alive. There seemed to be some good vibes going into this one.

Although a year ago, when I was sobbing my way through the last 20 minutes of Les Mis, I didn't think that, seven months later, I'd be standing on a stage with Hugh while wearing Wolverine sneakers and holding a foam claw hand. That part was a surprise. :oldrazz:

I heard 10 extra minutes, true?

Yeah about 10 - 12 extra minutes (forgot the exact amount of time). The unrated version is a good jab at how a Wolverine movie should be, they show his claws actually going through the body of people he stabs and coming out the other end and with blood splatting all over the place. Plus a lot more swearing.

Ha yeah that sounds even more far fetched that just simply "a decent film", glad it happened for you though.

Imagine would could happen next year...............:woot:

DOFP is my most anticipated of next year. Don't get me wrong, I'm too stoked for Guardians & Cap, but DOFP takes the cake. TASM2 i'll see simply because Spidey is my favorite Marvel character, and I like Garfield/Stone's relationship and their casting.

I just wonder what would have happened if Mangold had directed Origins. Although Rothman was still still around and would have had his say, but Mangold seems to hold more sway with Fox than Hood did, I dont think Hood is a bad director either but its obvious Rothman bullied him around a bit with Origins.

That X-Men and The Wolverine box set that includes every movie doesn't feature the Unrated Cut, right? The only way to get the Unrated Cut is through the 3D Blu-Ray set (normal or Best Buy Exclusive package)?
