Well, this is actually better than most costumes I've seen... and better than Wondie's actual costume!

It's Wonder Girl from Young Justice. RIP YJ.

Yeah, that is better than Wondy's costume. Although, not something I'd want for WW. Nice to see something that isn't the usual shtick, though.

kind of a rough edit, but replaced swords with lasso and removed the old one from her waist. again, credit to Teagone for the original version I modified from and Batboy for the tiara.

Make those gloves fingerless and then it will be:

I think I like the teagone manip best with the shoulder armor on it. There's something badass about that version.

This isn't a costume though. It's literally what every young girl is exercising in these days.

I feel like that's a slippery slope. There's been this trend as of late especially with the traditional superhero costume changing with the removal of all the trunks on DC characters. But we're just getting closer and closer to civilian clothing.

But that's kind of the point. You don't need much to dress better than a stripper. And as much as I like Wondie, I hate that she still dress as one. So I would much rather see her in Cassie's outfit than in her default one.

^ I like Wondie's costume more ;)

I especially like the new 52 armor segments. It's just more visually arresting than a sleeveless top and sweatpants.

I don't know, it feels closer to the border of Singer territory than I feel comfortable with ;)

I think what we need is a new movie costume which HONORS the tenets of the classic suit (the embelm, the stars, the armor) without BEING the swimsuit.

I think the battleskirt is the way to go, though pants would probably fit in more with the male superheroes ;)

So many strippers in this picture:

:whatever:

They're beach side, so they're in bikinis, it makes sense.

Fighting in swimwear is ******ed looking.

They're on the beach. But the fact that you already know that begs the question why did you even post it?

And about the nu52 costume, this would be perfect:

But if you take out the pants, Cassie's becomes superior.

I'm just trying to address the weird current in this thread where WW's traditional look, and swimwear in general, is 'icky' and what a 'stripper wears'. Did Lynda Carter go through all this?

Well, Wonder Woman tv show was from the amateur era, so it really doesn't matter.

Diana grew up on an island. She spent her whole life on the beach. The swimsuit costume has been her defining look for 75 years. No-one has a problem with it. Except for some comic-book fans for some reason. It's so bizarre.

It was a 70's TV series that followed a very campy Batman show and a lighter toned Superman, of course it wasn't a problem.

This isn't really too far off from what people might think a stripper might wear, either. It's not as bare, but there are design elements ("choker", knee-high boots) which immediately evoke sexualization rather than fighter.

Swimwear belongs on the beach. Not on the battlefield.

It's just such a weird argument. All female superhero costumes are form-fitting. Just like all male superhero costumes are form-fitting. But because tight fabric to a female body accentuates her curves and sexuality, it seems some people here go crazy for some reason.

I have yet to see anyone say her costume cannot be form fitting.

Nobody's going crazy right now. People are just talking.

And it's not a weird argument. Some people don't view women as sex objects like you do. That's all there is to it. Some people think female characters deserve respect and costumes that make sense in their given context. It's not a complex idea.

I think we can all agree at least the situation wouldn't be as bad as trying to adapt Star Sapphire or Starfire. Those are truly looks undisputably created from an erotic fantasy.

Even the recent news of Wanda having a different look is having fans go nuts a bit. Wonder Woman has it lucky, all things considered.

Like...she could already be there suntanning, and then there's an alien attack right there by the surf shop...she's not going to have time change, right?

I guess not. That is a rather unlikely scenario though.

Yeah. Watch it. I'm not being accusatory of you. And I'm not pointing fingers. We're allowed to disagree on this. And none of us are being sexist. We just have different thresholds of what is exploitive and what is not. That's all.

I just think the traditional costume is fine and innocent, and not seedy, gross, and designed by perverts.
