^Sad but true. I wish it wasn't like that though.
Yeah and Witchblade is meant to be super t&a. An now she has a really cool full body armor suit.
Exactly and I still think it looks just as sexy so that's not an excuse.

It is true. Though I think what Azzarello and Chiang did was great.

^Yes I actually love the new run. But even Chiang wanted to do something more Hellenic but DC forbid it.

Of course..... Oh well. What we have is still really good.

i dont see a problem with a skirt... the skirt can be done successfully.

personally, i wouldnt mind seeing a muted golden skirt, like some of the other posters that have posted here, but have a dark blue shorts instead of that high-cut design from the 90's...

I'd love to see this kind of cut for her armor:

Chiang's a good guy. Even though DC enforces the panties, he does his best to not be lewd about it.

And to be honest, I do have some faith that Snyder will give us a good costume. In MOS, there were no silly skimpy costumes. None. If he had WW in something like that this time, it would be jarring. Snyder's more skimpy costumes in Sucker Punch and Watchmen were sort of a parody and even those covered more than that thing WW's being wearing. Even if he put WW in one of those, it would still be a slight improvement.

^ I like that one. Good overall concept. Although I prefer the blue skirt.

THIS! The Silk Specter II costume does not show ANY cleavage, and as for Sucker Punch, that wasn't an adaptation.

I think some aspects he's gonna keep the same, and given that Faora had a lot of appeal even in the metallic armor, I don't think he'll go to far away from that for WW.

I don't think so either. Faora's costume was done perfectly. It was fit for her body and badass looking. It made sense for her character and the context of the movie, but she was still sexy because she was played by a sexy woman. There's no need to have skimpy outfits to appeal to a male demographic. Ok...maybe some men demand skimpy outfits (we all know there are some of those right here in this thread), but most don't. Most seem to find sexy women sexy even when they wear clothes.

The comparisons to Watchmen and Sucker Punch are a little out there. Watchmen wasn't your traditional comic book. It went all out, and some may argue that it's a piece of social commentary not just on politics but also on the comic genre. It was meant to be a little crazy, and Snyder's depiction of the universe allowed for Silk Spectre's costume to be sexualized. There was little effort in the creation of the universe to encourage equality, especially among the genders. The same can be said for Sucker Punch (not the comic bits). The world it revolved around was intentionally dysfunctional and disturbing. The MOS universe, however, at least attempts to base itself in a believable world, regardless of the supernatural events which took place. Why bog this world down with the sexualization of women? Faora was attractive enough without wearing a glorified bikini, so why can't WW? Covering her up a bit will not negatively impact her portrayal.

Just for fun, I'd like to see someone try and manip Faora's costume into a Wonder Woman outfit.

Wit a few alterations that costume would have been fine. Pretty much what they did with the Smallville season 11.

The art and colors on here are really done well. Still hate the design though :p along with pretty much every other design from Smallville season 11

Faora who? Nobody cared about her.

This is so inaccurate it is anti-accurate. Before the MoS, few people cared about Faora, now she is widely adored. You only need to see amount of lewd fanart in which she features to realise this.

Here's another skirt idea:

It looks great, but I can't quite make sense of it. It seems to be halfway between skirt and trunks, but may have the disadvantages of both.

Hey all, long time lurker (and I mean long time, I remember organic vs. mechanical web-shooters), first time poster. I thought I'd throw together a concept sketch for WW tonight (boredom). I drew this out in about an hour and spent another half hour throwing on some color in Photoshop. I have to say, I'm a botanical painter and photographer, and not a Photoshop/graphic design guy, so this is really just a sketch. I was mainly playing around with the mid-section design with the battle skirt. I couldn't make up my mind on boots, so I just left them out for now. I might add in shoulder pads or straps later, but to be honest, she's pretty much indestructible, so… I'm not sure I care for the shoulder pad look anyway. It's possible I may do a more serious oil on canvas later just for something different to work on. (I don't draw/paint people very much) ….Oh well, nice to meet you all….and have at it!

Very nice, well done.

^That just looks ridiculous and awful. I don't get the same impression if I see WW's regular costume.

Poor Halle. Her costume has the rare distinction of being heavily sexualised without being sexy to anyone.

It made sense for her character and the context of the movie, but she was still sexy because she was played by a sexy woman.

This is true, but I am slightly surprised that you didn't find her, as a character, to be over sexualised. She was a kind of dominatrix fantasy, like Xenia from Bond.

I loved her, anyway. :hrt:

To be honest, I loved her too.

And I think she was sexy by default, rather than by design. People may make lewd fanart and stuff, but none of that was in the movie. They didn't make the character about sex, even though she was sexy (if that makes any sense). She was capable, badass, and a loyal 2nd in command, but also a beautiful woman. I was rather pleased with that character.

I'll elaborate, if it wasn't clear for the first time. As I said, nobody cared about her prior MOS. Few, nobody, she was incomparable less popular than WW. (Obviously now she's very popular. After MOS. Never denied that.) So the example about Faora wasn't really accurate. WW's design is way more sensitive topic to people.

To be fair. People make lewd fan art for everything.

Man, the Catwoman movie should be studied. How can something cost so much money and be so bad?

That's sort of what's weird about the DC movie history.

Their movies are either amazing or they're awful. There's very few examples where it's just an OK or average movie.

Though IMO MoS was getting somewhat close to dropping from good to average on my personal scale.

But is there a scientific explanation for this? I mean, forget the abomination called Catwoman. Why did Green Lantern suck? I watched it only once and it was a while ago, but I remember being surprise how bad the CGI looked... and we're talking about a 200 mi film!

And it's not like Warner doesn't make big budget films...

Funny how Faora is like an exact opposite example of what I want from WW. Much less armor, much more substance.
