The blue is not "black with blue highlights". It's just blue. That's just how they show shadows and highlights in comics. You can't do that in real life. A dark blue however is the way to go.
By this logic her hair is also of blue color:

They're blue.

They just look better when they're drawn a really dark blue.

My wishes for her look and armor:

1) No gold elements. Iron/steel. It's battle armor, not parade one.

I actually disagree with this one. Historical armor for most of the period of the myths was bronze, and I think it would look better if Themiscyran armor and weapons came off as some kind of super-bronze, versus being just ordinary boring iron.

But silver has a more regal look. Diana is daughter to the Queen after all.

Umm, how is silver "more regal looking" than gold?

I'm in favor of pants. And a cape. Wonder Woman looks good in a cape. They should give her a white cape, one with a hood.

I know we are all off subject but It's when Joker gains Mr. Mxyzptlk power. They did an episode on Batman the brave and the Bold kind of losely based off of that. Joker kills Batman over and over. :funny:

I remember that episode. For a kids show that was pretty morbid.

Love the Brave and the Bold though. Sure it wasn't serious like TAS but it was funny and packed full of tons of silver age in jokes.

I still think Diana should just have a ton of outfits.

It makes perfect sense. Why limit yourself as a costume designer? Better merchandising options, too.

Yeah, the female superhero with a wardrobe full of different costumes. That's not sexist at all.

That's probably why some athletes are only striving for the silver medal. They probably think it looks more regal than winning a gold medal. :p

Hi people , I just registered,
to celebrate this I propose you a manip of Gal Gadot in a WonderWoman suit (not that well made), I didn't see much of them so I hope it will start a trend.
The "head gear" comes from a cosplay girl who made an awesome job :

the body comes directly from the picture of gal gadot (with a few modification) because remaking it entirely seemed tiresome :

hope you like it

(ps: not an english native speaker, sorry for the grammar mistake and stuff)

Typical example of a broken phone. The guy didn't say a word about gold being less regal than silver. Silver is more regal than bronze...

As for gold being a must have material for gods, I strongly disagree. Platinum look gorgeous as well. If we leave blue color in her gear - gold will work better. If not - I'd prefer titanium, black and red.

Also, another reason to use gold in her armor - to separate her from Thor.

I can't figure it out either. I think WW's costume looks terribly dull when the gold and blue are removed.
Silver is more regal than bronze. Read the posts properly :woot:

I'm not sure why the armor should regal appearance at all. It's battle armor.

Much like the weapons bestowed upon many demigod offspring like Perseus. Wonder Woman's armor is made up of separate and distinct parts, all of which have their own background origin and purposes to aid her.

The Lasso of Truth - Forged from the Golden Girdle of Gaea by Hephaestus.

Bracelets of Victory - Made from the shards of created from the shards of the Aegis shield, wielded by Zeus himself.

Royal Tiara - The only piece made to identify Diana and Royalty but is also a thrown weapon imbued with magic.

Wonder Woman's Battle Armor - Is simply her personal Amazon battle armor. The fact that it's more colorful and ornate than all of the other Amazons you see in brown leather is a direct reflection of her status in the Amazon culture. If I'm not mistaken in the New 52 the color pallet of it is symbolic and pays respect to her time of combat training under Ares.

I kind of want to see someone whip up a costume design where she's wearing a cuirass for her torso armor and has a battle skirt, a kind of updated and ceremonial looking Hoplite armor. It's craftsmanship and *curvature* could be explained as part of Hephaestus' personal trademark on his work, while its practical functions showcases his power and mastery.

I'm just surprised no ones tried anything like that for the look yet. The Greeks and Romans both had muscled cuirasses for their officers, and something like that could have a nice combination of old school look and new school interpretation. Plus, it'd be harder to call the costume a Xena knockoff if it looks heavier and more pimped out than anything she's wear.

If she has pants for outfit I'm skipping this movie! Skirt ftw!

The shorts would work best if Diana is planning on wearing the costume under civilian clothes.
