The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season IV Signup/OOC Thread

Incorrect!

Darkseid v. Thanos would be the greatest battle ever. Heck, I'll let Thanos have the Inifnity Gauntlet, too. He'll need a handicap. ;)

Incorrect!

The Joker and Deadpool trading "Yo momma" jokes would be the BEST BATTLE EVER!

As for the crossover, like Twilight said, it would only work if it was something short-term, for one specific arc. And like Purple Man said, you'd have to have the logistics worked out. But I also think it would need most of the players involved in each RPG for it to be a success. What's a crossover if most of the main players are absent? If it ended up that the majority of players weren't interested in getting involved, I wouldn't go ahead with the idea.

When would we do it (IF we're doing it, we're just tossing around ideas right now :) )? I'd say that we try and line up both the Marvel and DC RPGS so Season V ends for each at the same time. Then, we take like a month hiatus between seasons to do the crossover story. Then we go back to doing our respective seperate sixth seasons.

I'm not sure I'd like a crossover to be honest. It sounds nice, but I honestly don't know if I could genuinely contribute anything to it. Other than tagging along with the Titans, I don't see Rose having much to do inside such an arc.

Hey guys I haven't been around much lately...so I just finally read the 4 pages I missed...

So about the Crossover...that could be really cool...imagine a fight between people like Deathstroke/Deadshot/Deadpool/David Cain/etc. That would be amazing I think.

*Sigh*

Thats seems to be the only vaild reason people want a crossover for the "cool factor".

The point of RPG's are to have fun... And a Crossover sounds fun to me.

I'm not saying there not, but people only seem to be interested in a crossover so they can fight someone that couldn't normally.

The concept of a DC/Marvel acrossover is interesting, however I think for a lot of reasons it should remain just that a concept.

Its has alot of holes...

What do you do if people don’t want to be in the crossover? Do you alienated players for the sake of the crossover? What if someone from Marvel doesn't have a vast knowledge of DC and are thrown into an arc where they simply get confussed or vice versa.

Every idea, every concept has holes. We just need to take the effor to fill them in.

If someone doesn't want to be in the crossover, they could umm...Not be in the crossover?

Though I'm hard pressed to understand a valid reason to not want to be in the crossover. Any chance for character development I would think would be jumped upon.

People getting confused if they don't know who a character is from the opposite universe? There's wikipedia for that. Or forget Wikipedia and just let yourself learn who these characters are through your character. This is their first time meeting these characters so if you have a question about the character, have your character ask. And I'm sure your fellow players would help with any questions you have.

There's a lot of holes, but I'm confident I can fill them in. The only way these ideas fail is if everyone adopts your negativity. If you think it will fail, it'll surely fail. That's why while you're trying to tell us why it won't work, I'm creating ways for it to work.

It's a shame that some people don't put their talents to better use.

Honestly Purple just because I disagree with your idea, as a few others have I might add, you have to make it personal.

.....

I don't know what alternate reality you live in to even think it was conceivable...but I kinda wish I was there. :(

Eiterht the Marvel RPG would have to run longer or the DC one would have to run shorter.

and it would be a HUGE amount of coordination on the part of the GM's. I don't doubt we can do it..all the GM's are linked with MSN, but we'd have to see if they're all up to it because sotories would have to keep moving and the Seasons would have to end around the relatively same time.

Yes, because all we ever do is fight...

What if the story premise was that the Heroes fought together against a common enemy?

Red, you need to losen up.

On the same note:

Purple Man Yes, it is your idea, however once more people get involved in planning it I can guarantee that it won't go exactly as you planned. Can you be able to accept that?

Hmm. I wasn't sure if I was the first person to bring it up.

To be honest I don't have any plans at all. Just some random ideas for team ups and what not. Superman/Sentry, Ultron/Brainiac, Dr.Strange/Dr.Fate, Man-Thing/Swamp-Thing. Maybe make a connection between the Negative and Phantom Zones. The other eye of Agamotto.

We'll have to get creative with this and not let it become another JLA/Avengers.

Maybe this time Batman and Captain America can actually fight one another.

Just so long as the different ideas for it don't turn into a huge fighting match. :)

Though seeing the Sentry and Superman throw down would be awesome, I think I'd try and go the road less traveled and have the Sentry show a great deal of respect to Superman, sort of give a wink and a nod towards the fact that the Sentry is Marvels version of Superman. They could probably learn a lot from eachother.

Ultron and Brainiac, though you would think that two metal maniacs wouldn't get along, I think they would find it both in their best interests to work together. Maybe even combine together to become the most evil A.I. the universes have ever seen.

Dr.Strange and Dr.Fate could be the catalyst for this all. I always thought it was weird that Agamotto only had one eye. Was he a cyclops? Maybe the other eye was yet to be discovered in the DC Universe. The eyes could be Agamottos way of watching over each respective universe.

Just a few ideas I thought I would throw out. Best to get this ball rolling now.

Aw... all the cool people are linked by msn :( No... wait... i'm not, so that's a redundent sentence :p

Guess we're just not cool enough, Sentry.

Maybe we will earn MSN one day.

MSN = Windows Messenger, which almost all PC computers have if you run windows = No excuse.

:o ;)

I don't really care. If they need to talk to me, they'll pm me. If they want my msn, they can ask for it. All I really want is the next season to start so I can have another crack at Guy. :)

I never said we needed to contact you...you made a comment about 'cool' so I was saying it wasn't anything special we were doing. :o

And I'll get the OOC Thread for enxt season up today. I completely forgot yesterday.

Byrd_Man MSNed me about it..:p ;)

No... that comment wasn't directed at you, it was for purple man

Always stealing my spotlight, Twy.

Just cause you're the girl in the comic store doesn't mean everything revolves around you. Maybe people want to talk to me!

This ends now! *pulls out gun*

Pfft, Darkseid's such a little baby now, Thanos would eat him alive. :p

Hey. Sorry about not posting even after the weekend ended, but the things I was taking care of over Saturday and Sunday have spilled out into the week, leaving me without a reliable computer. I finally managed to briefly get ahold of a machine for a short period of time (enough to check on things and maybe get a short post up, which I am doing right now).

Final post for the season is up. Purple go ahead and wrap things up on your side.
