I think the idea has merit, but the rules state that the player must choose a pre-existing DCU character as their character. I'd say it'd be interesting if Purp played Hector in this story, and show (from Hall's POV) how he deals with the new Fate.

BUT, of course, I'm not a GM anymore. So my opinion means Nightwing.

Though if he gets accepted, I will play both sides of the story equally. Possibly the Dr.Fate side a little bit more because he will have more interaction while Hector is in a sort of exile. Hector will reunite with Nabu before the end of the season but it will be a long road.

That's more akin to playing two characters, one of which is a created one, so that won't work unless most of it (like 95%) is Hector. This is still all just speculation, the GMs might veto it outright anyway, I'm just trying to help you do your story in this game, while still following the rules.

Ok, not to be rude, but I think it a little funny that you, Purp, think that a force of Nature is controling you acceptance. The GM's have apparently spoke and said no. Sumbit your idea to the UDRPG and get it accepted there.

Yeah it is pretty funny isn't it?

A lot of people think Grant Morrison is pretty funny too, and he's my inspiration for this whole Dr.Fate thing.

At this point I don't care if my application gets denied and my idea gets banished to the furthest depths of the eighth page. I'm just the guy waving the flag saying to give something different a chance.

I joined this rpg to test the limits of my imaginations. No rules, no status quo are going to deny me of sharing my thoughts with you all. I believe it has merit and it would be an insult to us all if i just scrapped the idea and not gave it the chance to grab someones imagination.

I am not mad or uptight or even unrelaxed. IT IS A GREAT IDEA! It is really good. I just don't see why he doesn't post it in the Ultimate RPG where it fits in with the rules. You can still have Dr. Fate be the past Hector hall and everything. Here, it is a waste of an idea since it doesn't fit in this RPG.

I forget what you ideas are exactly besides having someone new take up the mantle. But perhaps you could play Hector and change things here and there and in the long run do the same plans as him?
