The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season IV Signup/OOC Thread

I'll have Wally's return up sometime today, hopefully sooner rather than later. I had the entire post almost done, but I was typing it directly in the Hype's post box and the power went out, so I lost everything. I'm working on another draft (in Word first this time, saving every 2 minutes) but it's kind of hard reconstructing what I did before and hitting all the points I wanted to. Sorry for the delay.

Corpy, get on AIM. You, me, and HV need to plan out how this fight's gonna end.

I can't, I'm at work right now. You guys could hammer out ideas and PM me or something, though. I should have some time to check the boards now and then.

Yeah, I gotta go to work tonight myself. But hey, we could always postpone the fight and piss everybody off. :D

ya that would piss some ppl off, like me for one! I wanna see how this turns out, so hurry up and start posting you three!:)

Hey just to let you guys know Marvel has finished his business in DC, and is on his way to Keystone City. If you want him to stay out say so and I can come up with something to get him to stop in Metropolis instead.

More help is fine by me. Johnny Blaze is handling the attack on Keystone itself as Mirror Master, so you may want to check with him.

Hey MST3K, I don't think a bill could be defeated that easily. Remember, people are still distrustful over the Unity Crisis, so I don't think that Newsome would have lost so easily.

Possibly...think of it as this...the rats are deserting the sinking ship. Newsome with his connections to Luthor so blantly exposed is now damaged goods. With his connections to Luthor not many people want to be near him Right Now.

However that does not mean that it will not come up again. This is far from the end of the line...someone else other than Newsome could come along and have fun with this bill...or Luthor could get someone else in his pockets to take care of things.

Another possible way for this thing to come back: all it takes is one person to say Senator Lyman was biased towards Captain Marvel for saving her neice. This would re-open everything once again.

hey guys what happened with the fight? You can't just stop in the middle like that! I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS DANGIT! and yes, in case you were wondering, I'm likeing the climatic battle quite a bit.

I'm working on a post to put Wally in the fight now, but Hyper Venom's at work. I don't know when he'll be back.

That's actually a really cool idea. That last one, I mean. Fits much more into the whole vicious political rivalry thing that goes on in Washington.

Oh, don't worry Infinity, me and Corp are cooking something up. This fight isn't halfway over yet.

great, because your guys's fight right now is kicking major ass. It's been a pretty good few hours for the rpg right now what with maskedmans post pulling at your heartstrings and then your guys's with the adreniline pumping action. I do have a question though, I never read any flash before, so is zoom really powerful enough to whoop up superman in the comics?

Superman is slower than the Flash. Zoom is as fast as the Flash, if not a tiny iota faster. The Flash can go lightspeed, and even faster.

If you want to get a good idea of where Flash's power is, check out JLA: New World Order by Grant Morrison. Therein, you'll find a little power Flash has called the Infinite Mass Punch...

Zoom is a lot more than just an iota faster than Flash. He's a blur even to Wally's eyes.

Someone said that Savage bumped Wally up to be about as fast as Zoom on his own in the RPG.

I wouldn't say a "blur"... Zoom's fatser cuz he can slow down time...

I'd say "blur" for the comics. Wally has a top speed--it's when he starts merging with the Speed Force, although it's unclear exactly where his top speed is in relation to the speed of light.

Zoom, on the other hand, theoretically has no top speed. Reduce a fraction of a second and you just get a smaller fraction of a second. Continue ad infinitum and you'd still keep getting smaller fractions of a second. Ergo, Zoom can slow time down incrementally to the point where he'd be even faster than Wally's top speed.

But Lex is a hero in the public's eye right now, having almost single handedly brought the US out of the depression caused by the Parasite, plus Lex was majorly victimized by being replaced by Rudy (plus some of the stuff I mentioned in my last post, whose credit goes mainly to you, MST3K). Being associated with Luthor at the moment wouldn't really be such a bad thing for a man's reputation. Quite the opposite, I'd think.

Savage gave Wally teleporting powers at one point. That was probably my only gripe about his portrayal of Wally. Taking away the theme of running kinda ruins the Flash for me.

In "Blitz," when Wally took Jesse Quick's speed, ontop of Jay and Bart's, Zoom and Flash met "between the ticks of a second." I always thought that that meant they were literally standing still in time, showing us what Zoom's top speed is, i.e: the top speed imaginable.

The only reason I don't think Zoom has the power to stop time around himself completely is that he hasn't done it even though it would have certainly come in handy a lot of the time. He would logically never lose a fight. That fight with Wonder Woman that he got his ass kicked so hard in? He would've had a relative lifetime to think of every conceivable move Wonder Woman could make and counter them. Of course the comic Zoom is nuttier than a Snickers bar, so he may have the power and just never use it for some weird, psycho reason.

I think it was Hyper Venom himself who told me that Wally was faster in the RPG, so I'm going with that. If the guy playing Zoom is ok with Wally's being fast enough to fight him on equal footing (no pun intended), I'm ok with it. He also mentioned something about Wally's accelerated metabolism becoming a full-blown healing factor with minor regeneration or something.

Well, that fight with WW makes no sense no matter how you look at it, even if Zoom couldn't stand still in time. He's still oodles faster than her and plenty fast enough to dodge her damn rope (it even looked as if he actually walked into the lasso).

But, yeah, that single moment in Blitz might not have been truly stopping time, but just figuratively being stated for dramatic effect. Plus there are the modifications made to Wally through the course of the RPG.

If there is one thing I have learned over the years (being a part of the media)...politicans hate having their past sins brought to light again. In the heat of the moment some people lose sight of the here & now (like Lex's turn to justice) when faced with past sins depending upon how grevious they were. Not too mention Newsome was not expecting to be blindsided by Marvel once that happened it was all over for him. *A lot of what you & LT mentioned will come into play later*

Now is this the end for the Super-Hero Registration act...far from it. I needed to have a way for Marvel to able to help out without just saying he left and just dropping the storyline that's why I told LT the different ways it could be brought back into play. Right now he is feeling pretty good about himself...but as a friend of mine once said, "Behind every silver lining there's an ominous black cloud."

OH MY GOSH...you guy's....I love you.

*cries*

I've just made the single biggest mistake in my RPG life and it's horrible and wrong, but I'm kinda glad I did and now to come here and have everything work so well...:(

*hugs all around*
