The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season IV Signup/OOC Thread

If I did I'd stay as Ra's and pick up Deathstroke.

"You remember what I did to Major Force? Yeah, may not be a good idea, cuz you won't survive so easily?"

I call Jack T. Chance!

"You who are wicked, evil, and mean- I'm the nastiest creep you've ever seen! Yowza!"

Oh, wait. :(

I don't usually bunny another person's character in a fight so extensively, but I feel that MM and Rudy should wrap it up quickly within the next couple posts and then the Parasite can move on to fight Supes.

Looks like we have an awesome Green Lantern Corps forming.

Is anyone playing Guy Gardner or John Stewart? Maybe someone could volunteer to play Salaak as well, the corps wouldn't be the same without him.

Also, my proposal for the Green Lantern Corps includes that the members we choose would be "bonus" characters since they aren't part of the central story line and are mostly just for fun. Though the people who use Green Lanterns (Hal, Kyle) as their main characters would be welcome to weave in and out of the two seperate stories.

I know we're already bending the rules with allowing a second character on a trial basis, so why not try another new idea and see how a Green Lantern Corps would work out as a side story. Something we can all work together on seperate from the main storyline on Earth.

Just throwing out some ideas, but we could do something with the Manhunter androids. The anti-matter Universe of Qward.

And since these are going to be disposable extra characters we could amp up the chances of a character dieing, because really, who is going to miss Ch'p if he dies?

If I were to pick a second character, which I don't think I will, it would be Catwoman or a Flash villian. Or a JSA guy. Or someone else.

What is the status of the JSA? Are they active? Or are they broken up like the JLA and the Titans?

I don't know if I'll be taking a second character, but if a few people want to get together a Justice Society I'll do my part to help out.

If that happens, I wanna play Alan Scott or Captain Marvel.

I've already got my two characters, so me as a Lantern isn't something that's going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

Yeah, no Lantern for me. I never really liked any of them enough to get interested.

There's no reason why the JSA wouldn't be active. We could excuse their absence from the RPG up to this point by saying they've been on a mission or something far away, with the exception of Captain Marvel who made his presence known earlier this season.

Edit: Dinah and Dr. Mid-Nite too :o.

That's the beautiful thing about Green Lanterns. There's 3600 of them, so if you don't like any of the ones from the comics, you can always create your own concept.

Just like the power ring itself, you're only limited by your willpower and imagination.

I don't think you would be allowed to create your own character, even if he was an GL.

That is against the rules, but I am not interested in anything about the GL, so creating one would not get me to play one anyway. I think it is a stupid idea for everyone to play the same type of character like the GL.

So is having two characters, but we pushed that idea through.

And thank you for calling my idea stupid. Next time try and be a little bit more rude towards my creativity.

Who cares if all the characters have the same powers? This side story wouldn't be about who can do what. It'll be about personality not power. How do representatives of 3600 different species interact when united by the guardians of the universe as the Green Lantern corps.

There are thousands of Green Lanterns that have never been represented, many have been shown but have never uttered a word on the comic book page.

You guys need to get your heads out the box. While you're keeping yourselves constricted by the "rules", I'm pushing the envelope to create something unique.

There's always a need for rules, but they should always be open to be changed when a good idea comes rolling around.

Nice try, CNO. You almost pi$$ed me off with your closed mind, but I'm just here for the fun of it. I'll keep petitioning my idea despite it being stupid.

I phrased it wrong, I don't mean the idea of GL is stupid, I mean the idea of everyone playing the same type of character and not wanting to do it is. We have rules for a reason. This is the DC RPG not "Create a Hero RPG". I don't care if I pissed you off or not. Some people do not want to do the idea and that doesn't make me or others close minded.

It does when you call someones idea stupid.

Most of the other people in this rpg are enthusiastic towards this idea. The breadth of Green Lantern mythos could warrant its own rpg, though I'm sure most people don't want to involve themselves in another rpg, so I humbly suggested that the Green Lantern Corps could be a side story running opposite of the main story line with Hal, Sinestro, Kyle, Guy, and John as the thread that connects them.

You don't put this much thought into something and have it be stupid.

A crossover with Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew is a stupid idea. Something that just sort of farted out of my brain while trying to find something to represent what a stupid idea is.

And it's not create a hero if you're fleshing out a minor character.

Argue with me some more, I'm having fun.

Sorry to do this to you guys but I'm gonna have to drop out. I now I keep coming back and forth to this RPG, but I've got too much going on right now to be in more than one RPG. I've got important tests soon and all that jazz so I really don't have time. I'll see if I can make a return a bit later on in the year.

Hey Twy, since I have Wally West, can I get the rest of the Flash family, as it's easier to weave my stories?

What do you mean but 'rest'?

Okay...to clarify, it's not 'against' the rules to have two characters, because we changed the rules. Two characters have been allowed in all the other RPG's except this one and if I had it my way it wouldn't have been allowed on this RPG either. However all the other GM's wanted it so it went to player vote and the players wanted it as well.

Creating a character is against the rules. If you want to flesh out a minor character it would depend on how minor that character is.

We've had no JSA Characters for almost the entire span of the RPG..with the exception of a Dr. Mid-Nite and Dinah *BoP*

So the JSA has been active, but operating on it's own.

You know what, you need to knock this off. I am sorry for calling your idea stupid, and I shouldn't have done that, but that is how I feel if we all have to play GL's to make the story make sense. I don't want a second character, and if I did, it would not be a GL. That does not make me close minded. It just means I have an opinion. I thought about the idea and did not like it. Again, I am sorry for calling it stupid, I didn't mean to upset you, but know your just going to fight with me for the hell of it. If that is what you want to do, please PM me. It is not worth cluttering this thread.

I think this idea would be bad for the RPG. If you want a Green Lantern Corps based part of the RPG, why not start your own? I think trying to work a complete Corps in (and if I'm understanding you, you want to ignore the TWO character rule for people that pick up Corps members) will water down the RPG even more than it is already. Why start trying to form the GLC when the JLA and Titans need so much work on the Earth based issue. I'm not saying its a stupid idea, but it is very poorly timed.

CNO, GL..I don't think he's forcing anyone to pick up a Green Lantern Character as their second character.

No thanks, I want to keep him afflicted while he's holding up the building. If he got back full control of his powers, I think the situation would lose a lot of its danger.

Hey. How about next season everyone gets a Green Lantern corps member? Might be interesting what directions we go in with the different Lanterns, and there's plenty to go around. And just so we don't muck up the amount of characters on Earth, we could make it a rule to keep all the non Earth designated GL's up in space.

Salak,Jack T. Chance, Katma Tui, Tomar Tu, Mogo, Ch'p, G'nort, Green Man, Kilowog..the list goes on and on.

I know everyones gut reaction is going to be to shoot down this idea, but try and give it some thought.

When I said I wasn't interested, he said the create-a-character type thing, and then when I still said no, he called me close minded. That might have been from the "stupid" thing, but still, he makes it sound that he wants everyone to get a GL.

Twy it's this part that got me aggravated:

It sounds like he doesn't even want them counting against the two character limit.

*headache*

Geez...why does this all have to be on the first week of classes?

*bangs head against desk*

Why...why...why...why....

[insert nervous breakdown]
