Non-Powered said:I'm nominating Uncanny X-Men 147, featuring "Rogue Storm" in a misleading (and poorly drawn) "dark phoenix" style stance (only 10 issues after the original death of Jean Grey). The cover caption reads, "Dare we do it again?" In the issue, Storm goes a little nutty due to her claustrophibia, but it's nothing remotely comparable to becoming Dark Phoenix. Lots of comics have so-so art, but this cover was also needlessly sensational (and not in a fun way like some of those Silver Age Superman or Flash "It was all just a dream" covers), and in poor taste given the importance of X-Men 137 to the comics world at the time.
