Worst Marvel Comic You Ever Read?

Worst than Austen's ****ty ****e, werewolf mutants, exploding wafers, underage sex infront of the parents,Lorna now a child of magneto, Nightcrawler a son of the devil run????????

Hell 2 da naw!

The entire Thunderstrike series! What was I thinking, talk about being young and dumb.

The Other, Sins Past, Disassembled and Civil War, easily. It the Living Colossus was like a work of art compared to those four pieces of crap.

Civil War is the best thing to happen to marvel in the last 10 years, and im not being sarcastic.

thats like saying Rue Mclanahan was the hottest Golden Girl...you have to realize they were all pretty old and decrepid

Notice how my post had nothing to do with the quality of the book.

Money wise maybe, certainly not quality wise.

I'm sure theres so many more, but of recent memory, Prelude to Planet Hulk. There wasn't a single point to the entire arc that couldn't have been done in HALF an issue. It's pretty damn obvious Marvel knows this, which is why they packaged it with the Offical Hulk Handbook in the TPB. It just proves why Daniel Way has no place in Marvel.

Its fairly easy to see most of what Marvel has put out in recent years is..bad.But from a classical point, the only thing i can really think of as being bad was the cancelation and revamp of the Fantastic Four in 1996 and the recon of Ahab not being a future version of Cable with the X-men.

Claws was terrible

Claremont's latest runs on Uncanny X-men and Excalibur were bad

Sins Past

A lot of the recent Black Panther was horrible

Apocalypse vs Dracula

But which one of those "masterpieces-of-crap" were the WORST, roach? Now THAT'S a challenge. Personally, I'd think Angel and Husks airborne, pederastic whoopie-dance was a definite low point. Course what do you expect from the guy who says the most fasinating fact about Nightcrawler was that he had two penises.

I'm surprised you didn't add the sequel to [blackout]Sins Past[/blackout] to your list, which featured Gwen and Norman's druggie, super-powered, super-aged and technically ten-year old daughter putting the moves on Peter, and an instant nominee for one of the most disturbing covers ever illustrated, especially it light that it's NOT Gwen on the cover:

I vote for What If? Kraven killed Spidey, which apparantly was only written so the writer could include a scene where MJ, Cap, Torch and Daredevil discover Kraven eating Spidey's rotting corpse.

Man, I must be in a stew - just mentioned this on another thread but the worst comic I've read in recent times is Hudlins Black Panther. Total and utter log.

I'd also agree with the X-treme X-men and an Elektra run by Bendis, which at present the name of which eludes me.

you cant single out just one because then you realize that has weaved a massive web of crap that intertwined with everything else....every arc had Nurse Annie Mc****instein trying to get some...lame secondary powers(Angel's healing blood...if your blood can heal as fast as it does then how can you get some on anyone since your blood should be healing your wounds)...Austen's run on X-men made Sins Past, The other and Hudlin's run on Black Panther look like Kingdom Come, Watchmen and Marvels rolled up in one

The issue where Doctor Octopus is resurrected by the hand (well, the issue AFTER that when he fights Spider-man). Just awful, awful trash. I didn't really care if he came back or not, it was just written so horribly.

I take it back, What If? The Other was the ****tiest comic book I have ever written. Seriously absolutly nothing happened, it was pages upon pages of a cocoon, and than the usual What If? "shock ending" to wrap up the book.

You're the one who wrote the piece of crap? Bastard. :oldrazz::D

EDIT: Oh, and it gets worse. PAD mentioned in an interview he's thinking of bringing that Spider-man into "Friendly Neighborhood". Dude, enough with the mystic/time-traveling/alternate reality crap! It's Spider-man, not Doctor Strange meets Star Trek!

I think people have less than a 10 year memory span here.
Worst Event: Onslaught/Heroes Reborn: hands down. They killed EVERYONE who was not either X-Men or Spider-Man. You think those characters are over exposed now...it's far worse when X-Factor puts Fantastics Four's title of "world's greatest comic magazine" on their covers. And then Liefield bringing them back....help me. And Wolverine was made into a friggin ape thing with less intelligence...and bone claws (again). :cmad:

Worst Mini Series: Hercules (most recent). The art and story was atrocious.

Worst Single Issue: Marvel Team Up vol.1 no. 119
MarvelTeam-Up119.jpg

Oh my god this issue sucks. It had decent art, but God it sucks so bad. It features Spidey (who essentially makes a cameo) and Gargoyle. They beat up some roughians. And then the rest of the book is devoted to some romance Gargoyle has with some really old lady. Yeah, if that doesn't give you nightmares, I don't know what will.

also so this one sucks big time

Toss up between Maximum Clonage Saga, and John (may he) Byrne bringing Norman Osborn and Aunt May back to life.
To be fair, while he was behind bringing back May, it was Howard Mackie who was behind bringing back Osborn.
