Making him a transitional champ only for him to be Cena's jobber ***** will KILL his career.

Anybody reckon Rollins could cash in and win the title tonight (with some external interference/help), only to lose it to Cena in a rematch at Battleground?

The last time someone cashed in on Cena, he was able to win with one arm. And the guy who cashed in on him is playing dress up every night

Potential scenario: Cena drops the title to Brock at SummerSlam, Brock keeps the title until Mania and drops it Reigns. I don't see Reigns only having the belt for 2 months or so to drop it to Rollins in a cash-in attempt.

Just one of a few possible scenarios, hence my question.

Seriously, why even entertain that thought? It was bad when happened to Edge and it was bad when it happened to Sandow.

You make it sound as though it's never happened before.

Yep, BS, but not out of the question, is it.

Whoever holds the briefcase can keep it til next year's MITB PPV. There is no pressure to cash in by Wrestlemania.

You go on about how ****** the E's booking is on a nigh constant basis and now you're all dismissive towards me for even entertaining that thought? A thought which has already happened on a few occassions. You should know what they're capable of, by that logic. I don't like it at all, but consdering who this is, and what has come before, it's not completely out of the question.

They're calling this the reality era, and well in that case, what's wrong with pondering on realistic possibilities in regards to the direction, regardless of how absurd they are, things could go.

The only reason many of us aren't upset by Cena as the champ again is because he's just keeping the title warm for Lesnar.

Yep, that's the true saving grace. Unless they decide at the last moment to change their minds. :csad:

I don't think your first title being a transitional reign is necessarily a career killer. Orton's first reign basically just moved the WHC from Benoit to HHH.

I don't want any if these guys to be transitional champs with their first reign, but I don't think it would end them forever.

Yep. Plus with Bryan hurt and Punk gone, going back to Cena for the time being is fine. But yeah, he's just a placeholder.

I've tried blocking that thought out of my mind. Don't tread on my dreams, Van. :csad:

Unless they're fed to Cena...

Oh and HHH has always been the bane of Orton's WWE career.

- As noted earlier, WWE is expected to announce the signing of Japanese superstar KENTA at a press conference during their Japanese tour next month. WWE's Japanese microsite has the press conference listed here, and KENTA's name is actually listed in the file name of the picture on the site, which is kenta-teaser-image.jpg.

- As noted earlier, Triple H announced on Twitter that a former WWE Champion will be returning on tonight's RAW. We mentioned this morning that Ric Flair and The Miz may be returning this week. WWE.com noted that the Superstar returning is a "cross-platform entertainer who has found numerous successes outside of the squared circle."

You and me both, man. :csad: The fact that Trips is high on all three of the Shield boys though, gives me hope that they'll handle them proeprly and not screw up their paths...if they can help it.

I sure am excited to see KENTA and Prince Devitt's bandwagons to start. That'll be fun...

I agree that HHH has been the bane of Orton's career, but I don't think that one month reign was the career killer that it felt like it was going to be ten years ago. In fact, he has turned out to be one of the top guys of the last decade. While they should AIM higher, I feel like the young guys would actually be lucky to have Orton's career (minus the wellness policy issues).
