So what the hell does Cena do after Night of Champions?

I like the guy, but he's in danger of the fans turning on him due to the super-push. It's been said time and time again...he's not ready for what they're trying to do with him. Maybe he will develop tremendously between now and 'Mania...we'll see.

This is part of the reason I didn't want to see the Shield break up at that point. Primarily because I think they could have done a bit more with them as a unit, but also because I knew they would single out Reigns and push him too soon. They could hide his limitations in the Shield, but in singles matches, his shortcomings are glaringly apparent.

I don't see those shortcomings. The Superman punch and the spear and the wolf-howl and all that are very effective showstoppers. He just wouldn't be credible against Brock. I wouldn't give him a title shot against Lesnar; I'd wait til Cena gets it back, or someone else gets it, before letting Reigns wear it. In the meantime, he should work towards getting the Intercontinental or US belt for some xp.

I do think a Mid card title would benefit him.

Although where the hell does that leave Bray Wyatt if they push Reigns?

Not being credible against Brock is the problem since the vibe is that Reigns is Cena's successor, and is the one lined up end the Lesnar Reign of Terror.

The aforementioned moves are fine but he needs add more moves, ones that he uses before going for the comeback and the five moves of doom
An increase his in-ring psychology would do him some good too.

There have been at times in his matches some deadspots. Granted against someone like Orton that's always a risk. But a stronger wrestle like Daniel Bryan would prevent deadspots and cover them with his energy and moves.

The Taker sit-up spot was awesome and the way he started doing his jumping taunt was a great touch

I think the chances are very high that we'll see Rybaxel vs. The Usos again for the millionth time at Night of Champions.

Although I want to see Slater Gator vs. The Usos.

The only match I can think of similar to this match was 1993. Hogan getting his ass handed to him by Yokozuna.

The Sage pretty much voiced my viewpoint on his moveset. I agree completely, though, that I would like to see him get involved in an extended midcard feud over the I-C or, preferably, US belt.

Hell now that I think about it Punk put up a better fight against Lesnar than Cena did tonight. Punk also almost won that match.

I dunno if Slater Gator will turn out to be a thing. Slater's getting some pop right now for lucking into wins against the heels, but I don't know whether he can turn that into a lasting push as a face. Titus just doesn't click right now, with anybody. I suppose O'Neill could start getting some bookings when Darren Young gets off the DL sometime this fall. Revenge or reconciliation for Young, whichever.

What about Sheamus as a contender for Brock's title? Not a big fan of Fella myself, but he's at least a big enough and tough enough brawler to give Lesnar a legit fight. Have they ever fought before?

They have never fought.

Cena is likely going to focus more on filming those two movies for a bit now that he isn't champ.

It doesn't really sound like his role in the Judd Apatow movie a big one.

I actually thought he would have been a good alternate to Cena for winning the world championship at MITB, and then losing it to Brock at SummerSlam. As a 3-time world champion who rarely loses, he has just enough credibility to appear legit, and I didn't feel that a transitional reign would have damaged him (we knew whoever won it would be a placeholder for Brock). However, Cena was the right way to go, considering how Brock won tonight.

I'm not a Sheamus guy either, but I'd be fine with him as a placeholder feud for Lesnar.
