Anyone think Punk could win the title and bring it to ROH for a bit?

While I have no doubt that it was all worked I wouldn't be suprised if Punk took things a step or two farther than they wanted him to. When he got cut off he was about to tear into the anti bullying campaign.

I was just thinking about the the anti bullying campaign and how bullsh** it is because they make fun of Vickie Guerrero by calling her fat. The GOOD guys call her fat. Way to set an example, WWE.

CM Punk just said what everybody on this forum has wanted to say for about 2 years on live TV infront of millions of people. I dont care that it may have been worked. He spoke for all of us.

I know he said what I've been feeling. Glad its at least all out there for the casual audience to mull over now.

Most of those kids were probably like "Johnny Who?" :funny:

Punk was right, he is the best wrestler in the world right now, on the mic, in the ring, everywhere.

Tonight he showed why he should have been the top villain in the company for the last 2 years instead of a glorified jobber most of the time...even in the midcard.

spoiler for july 4th taping regard cm punk
At the start of the show they had a graphic announcing that Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, and R Truth will be in a Number One Contender Match for the WWE Title at Money In the Bank. They also announced Alex Riley versus Miz.

John Cena comes out for a promo and he mentions that CM Punk has been stripped of his right to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago. He mentions that is why they are going to do the Triple Threat Match to determine a new number one contender. He also says that they are going to treat things as if CM Punk never existed in WWE.

Cena says that he is not happy with the decision and he believes that Punk was saying what he believes in, but he does not agree with Punk. He does agree with Punk’s right to say what he did. Cena says that he wants answers from Vince McMahon and he wants those answers tonight.

I am so looking forward to discussing this on Bad Blood tomorrow night.

Shawn-esque plug! :D

Makes me wonder if he 's REALLY "leaving." It would be awesome if this whole thing is a great work and Punk "leaves" and sells it really well only to still in fact be working for the company on some kind of outsider/rebel storyline.

Even if none of what I said is true (which it probably isn't) its got me anticipating whats next and THAT is what any great wrestling show should do. Bravo, Punk. Well done.

Basically if they want to play this right out, they should announce tomorrow that he's been released, then have him doing run-ins at shows as the fans clamour for him to be reinstated..the only issue is that he stuck with being a heel during the promo and the guy he wants to topple is the companies golden boy.

Agreed. The thing that makes a great promo is if it sounds genuine and EVERYTHING Punk said sounded like he was was being genuine

Exactly! for the audience to care the promo needs to draw them in and feel legit.

Yes. Everything was the truth, from the moment he sat foot in that company he was special and yet Vince shat all over him.

Punk is better than Cena, Orton, Miz, and even a Jericho. I do like the props he showed Steve Austin though.

name dropped :

ROH,
Colt Cabana
NJPW
Brock Lesnar
Paul Heymen
Wrestling :wow:

said the company would be in the gutter after Vince dies because of john laurinaitis, his yes men that surround him,is dumb daughter an his doofus son in law

WOW
Mentioning Wrestling probably was the last straw.

lol; they're not even mentioning the Punk promo in tonight's Raw Results over at WWE.com...so either this was real, or they're trying to create the illusion that it's real (similar to when they were trying to bring back Matt Hardy for the Edge/Lita thing.)

Don't know if they should go that far because now I want to see the Punk vs Cena match more than ever and want to see him there building it up but they definitely need to do something tomorrow. Even if they "suspend" him next week. Maybe ban any mention of what happened next week. That'll make it look like tonight wasn't part of any plan.

Something needs to be done because right now the iron is red hot. People are going to be talkign about this for a while.

That small touch made the whole thing seem SO real. and I agree. Punk never really got his due. he wasn't just another rookie from FCW when he got called up to the main roster. He was good on his first day and WWE has wasted him most of the time with their by the numbers vanilla booking.

Stuff like that will really sell this angle.

Nah, WWE doesn't see any need to pull crazy stunts like that. This will most likely end with Cena winning and Punk leaving on his back.

For those who want to see it again.

I just got home from work, anyone have a link to Punks promo?

edit

Thanks NDX

Listening to this again, I'm still surprised what he got away with. It was such a well delivered promo, and his did it from his seat.

That was absolutely spectacular...just unbelievably good promo from Punk.

It was just magic. I REFUSE to believe that WWE approved all of that.

Probably gonna catch flack for it but that was Punks "austin 3:16" moment.

There are promos that stick out and transcend time.

Austin 3:16.

Cane Dewey.

Armbar.

Joey Styles' shoot.

And CM Punk's big **** YOU to the 'E.
