IMO and mind you this is just a gut feeling but I believe that last night marked the beginning of the end of WWE PG. I means ever since the Rock and Stone Cold have been popping up everything has been pointing in that direction but Punk kind of solidified the nail in the coffin. I'm not saying their going to Attitude Era extreme more like Attitude Era light (WWE PG-13, lol)

I'm sure there were a few people that got that very same feeling the night that Nexus first appeared on Raw.

Chris Jericho recently did an interview with the UK’s Daily Star to promote a Fozzy appearance this weekend. He also noted the following on Christian: “I didn’t watch it but I heard about it, look, it’s probably part of a storyline. People want all the answers and it’s not not supposed to be like that, it makes it fun to not know the full story. When I go see Pirates of the Caribbean I don’t want to know the ending. I’m sure there’s some sort of plan.”

Jericho also tweeted the following last night regarding CM Punk’s promo: “Congrats to @cmpunk and Vince McMahon for doing something tonight that hasn’t been done in awhile…make history.”

HBK tweeted. The following

Gettin ready 2 head home. 2 words 4 @CMPunk- thata boy. Felt like old times. Anywho, back 2 my normal life, tweet u on touchdown:-)

guys we really need to start waking up here, yeah it was great but it's over. we've seen the spoilers the focus is now back on cena, wwe has the hero and come money in the bank this will all be a forgotten memory. when once again cena lifts the belt high

I'm sure the underwhelming spoilers are more due to the fact that the show was shot the same night, so it kind of limited what they had to do. I'm gonna give them a pass.

That said, we've seen these kinds of promos already when Batista was on his way out. And as always, it always ends up with Cena being the hero. Unfortunately, I'm still putting my money on Cena at the moment.

But if Cena wins after this... then I just don't know how much hope I have for anything that Cena is involved in from here on out. Punk's promo last night made it so that Punk winning is the only logical direction to take. Anything less than Punk winning the title at MITB is a waste.

On a side note, I was impressed with Mark Henry last night. Has he been a heel for a while now?

I can't believe I turned off my TV and missed that Promo. :(

I hate that Raw has been so hard to sit through a whole episode that I turned it off before Punk's promo. I watched it on my DVR though, and it was brilliant. I'm glad they're giving Punk a lot of room to work with here. The guy is the best talker they have, so using him this way is great. I just hope that they don't mess it up.

Someone made a Nexus connection, and that's what I fear. Nexus debuted and looked great. They had a cool storyline and a leader who looked to be a really good future star in the making. They then fed them to Cena and Orton, and now they're very irrelevant. I hope they don't do the same with Punk. I was reading a great article about how Cena's character needs a villain to push his character to better heights. Punk could really be that guy if they really wrote their feud well.

Here is the article. It's a really good read.

There are so many great possibilities this angle could take, and yea there's a good chance WWE will blow it but you know what I'm gonna enjoy the ride until they do. The fact is they got people talking about their product last night into today more passionately then they have in a long time. Fact is were all speculating what will happen and that's GREAT! Instead of wondering who Cena will beat after Punk where all going nuts thinking of every possibility.

I so agree with you :applaud

such a waste of oppertunity all so they could sell a few more Cena shirts.

It almost seems like they do that on purpose. Start off something that looks like it can be great so people are talking and excited then give it the same typical ending.

I'm hoping that Punk has some form of creative input on this.... IF he does it could end fairly well. Hell, it could end well regardless. The WWE has just been such a momentum killer lately that we're all cynical about whatever they put out that starts out "hot."

I don't think he has control over the outcome but I think he's been getting some creative input on the road to it. I think someone mentioned before that there are similarities between this and something he did in ROH so he might be using that. At the very least they aren't writing his promos for him.

I'm guessing that WWE told Punk that he can do whatever he wants to make himself look good before jobbing to Cena and leaving...

Regarding the CM Punk promo last night, the company told Punk to go out and talk about the reasons why he was leaving the company. Nothing was scripted and Punk was said to have improvised it. Obviously he was working and not in full shoot mode, but most of what he said was how he really felt. It was said that the company was letting him say what he wanted unless they felt he started to go too far and they would then cut him off. As we saw, WWE did just that after some of Punk's comments about HHH and Vince's bullying campaign and cut off his mic.

A lot of the wrestlers today were cheering Punk's comments about the "Yes men" in the company.

Many felt the shot on Johnny Ace and HHH were true shoot comments by Punk. CM Punk was one of the many guys who was upset at HHH returning around Wrestlemania to take on Undertaker. Punk felt HHH came in and basically buried the locker room by shwoing he was the only one worthy of facing the Taker. It upset people even more when HHH left after Mania and didn't help put anyone over on the roster.

Johnny Ace has a reputation of stringing guys along about their position in the company and he is not well liked by many of the boys.

CM Punk is not going to ROH. That was something done to create buzz.

By all indications, Punk is gone from the company after the MITB PPV. But that's not to say he will not be back down the road.

In regard to TNA and the X-Division themed PPV Destination X, a lot is riding on the how the PPV buyrate does to determine the future of the Division. It's being said that if the buyrate does well, the company is going to put more focus on the X-Division and will bring in more guys on the roster permanately. However, there's been talk of making the X-Dvision more of a hardcore division and having Abyss rename the title the X-Treme title. If the buyrate does not do well, the company may go with that direction and completely run the previous style into the ground.

TNA is really trying to load up Destination X show to see how much interest there still is in the division. The buyrate will determine the fate of the X-Division

It's ironic that Punk started off the night in the ring with HBK tonight. Punk finished the night reminding me of HBK in '97, right after Bad Blood. HBK said he was going to show his victory over Taker in the 1st HIAC, but instead showed the Kliq Curtain Call from MSG. Then he proceeded to cut a promo on Vince about how he "made a fool out of him again". Having witnessed the strict kayfabe of the Family Entertainment/New Generation eras, this was shocking. Punk gave off that same subversive vibe tonight.

That is EXACTLY what I thought of when watching, but I couldn't find the full promo on Youtube. No one has been given that freedom to shoot since Shawn, pretty incredible for an indie guy.

You know what's frustrating? They're just now getting what John Cena versus CM Punk is about. The branded company man against the anti-established rebel. The man who the company gets behind the money machine against the guy who keeps on making it and hooking the fans despite the company not giving him the chances he deserves.

This is where their beef at the beginning of the year should've gone. And this is what the main-event at Wrestlemania this year should have been.

Spot on man, CM Punk vs Cena with this angle would have made Mania even bigger and delivered a match worthy of the marquee.

- JBL also commented on CM Punk’s RAW promo: “CM Punk’s promo-shoot or work? Who cares? When you are so good that you can put that doubt in viewers minds you have done your job very well”

JBL gets it!

I saw HBK before the show started and finally asked him my question.

Were you backstage at Raw?

HBK tweeted. The following

Gettin ready 2 head home. 2 words 4 @CMPunk- thata boy. Felt like old times. Anywho, back 2 my normal life, tweet u on touchdown:-)

I knew Shawn would appreciate some of the rebel spirit. :D

Batista cut an anti-Cena promo but he never trashed Vince and the company and Triple H like that. I'm not sure what is going to happen, either there is a much bigger arc at play here, or for some reason Vince has allowed Punk a free parting shot at the WWE in order to hype the buyrate for a basic monthly PPV.

The difference between this and Nexus is that the Nexus guys were all green as grass, they didn't have the ability to carry the angle through. In Punk they have a guy capable of running with the ball, if they give it to him.

say.............what did happen to HHH? why'd he leave after Wrestlemania?

is he injured or something??

He's been working behind the scenes. He was behind the promotional packages for Sin Cara and Kharma.

- WWE posted the following storyline update this afternoon on CM Punk:

"UPDATE: As of Tuesday, June 28, WWE and CM Punk have reached an agreement that Punk will fulfill his non-televised live event obligations for the remainder of his contract, through July 17. Furthermore, both sides have mutually agreed not to disparage one another."

He's been making the transition from active wrestler to next person that runs the company. A handful of the enjoyable things that have happened over the past few months were his doing behind the scenes.

Sometimes I wonder how these wrestling sites know what they claim to know... Seriously. I'm a fan of wrestlezone but they all say the same thing. I could say that I have an insider and that I know CM Punk is going to IMPACT Wrestling to be the new "face" of the company...

I mean, could he leave? Sure! Is he leaving? Probably.. But I doubt anyone but Punk and the WWE know for sure. Yes, all signs right now point to his leaving... but that could all be part of a bigger angle.

Yeah, I liked what Punk had to say last night... BUT I fully believe Triple H knows whats better for the company than Vince does. I read an article a long time ago in WrestlingObserver and HHH was questioned on what he would change if he ran the company...

He said bigger and better focus on wrestling, less kiddie and Superstars would become Wrestlers again.

So... I do doubt that the WWE would be worse off with Triple H in charge. You'd just have to be his buddy. :awesome:

Can't say much in regards to wrestlezone, although they do come across more like a "NEWZ" site to me at times.

However, PWInsider is legit. I've been following those guys for 12 years, since they were still at 1Wrestling.com. If you sign up for an Elite account, it is well worth it and you'll see that they truly know their stuff. They are easily the most knowledgeable guys on the net. I wish Buck Woodward was still with them too! That guy was awesome

Yeah, PWInsider seems a bit more legit. I don't have an Elite account... probably never will, but I do like them. I used to really, really enjoy WrestleZone... lately though... Eh...
