By all indications, Punk is gone from the company after the MITB PPV. But that's not to say he will not be back down the road.

In regard to TNA and the X-Division themed PPV Destination X, a lot is riding on the how the PPV buyrate does to determine the future of the Division. It's being said that if the buyrate does well, the company is going to put more focus on the X-Division and will bring in more guys on the roster permanately. However, there's been talk of making the X-Dvision more of a hardcore division and having Abyss rename the title the X-Treme title. If the buyrate does not do well, the company may go with that direction and completely run the previous style into the ground.

TNA is really trying to load up Destination X show to see how much interest there still is in the division. The buyrate will determine the fate of the X-Division

-IF true.....It's not part of a long term storyline like I hoped and Cena will of course win this where everything stays the same except Punk goes home!!

-It's mostly the IWC interested in the X-division&the ppv,I have zero hope that the buyrates will be better than past few ppvs.....RIP X-division and hello new&even more *****ed up hardcore division than WWF!!!!

It just depends on how TNA pushes the show the next two weeks on tv. Their ECW Hardcore Justice PPV was said to have done much better numbers than there regular PPV's were doing at that point. However, the ECW guys screwed themselves by thir behavior backstage and was the reason the EV2.0 stuff got killed off.

But that PPV does show that the stuff that the hardcore internet fans care about can boost a PPV buyrate. TNA isn't doing gangbusters when it comes to PPV buyrates so if they get about a 10,000 bump in viewers that will be a sizable increase for them.

Oh and the way it came across to me, it sounds as though Punk will return to WWE down the line. They were also clear that things can always change at last minute. It's possible WWE could make Punk a good offer he'll accept after the buzz he created last night.

Kurt Angle today praised CM Punk on twitter but did have some words of warning for him:
"CM Punk had classic promo last night. Good for Him. But if U ever say another word about Me again, Ur toast! If U don’t believe Me, try Me!"

Talk all you want Kurt you're still not relevant.

Punk would probably Tweet back:

At least I'm Straight-edge!

Yeah he's only the face of the #2 wrestling promotion in the world, completely irrelevant.....

HULK HOGAN BACKS OFF IMPACT ON THE ROAD STATEMENT, SAYS HE GOT IN TROUBLE FOR YESTERDAY'S TWEET
by Mike Johnson @ 6:42 PM on 6/28/2011

During an appearance on Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show earlier today, Hulk Hogan commented that he got in trouble for Tweeting that Impact would be going on the road every other taping starting in August.

As I reported yesterday in the PWInsider.com Elite section on my audio hotline, there is no deal in place for that to take place, although there have been discussions with SpikeTV about the idea. At the time Hogan made the announcement, nothing had been agreed upon, even in principle, so a lot of people in the TNA office were tearing their hair out as word reached them of Hogan letting the cat out of the bag.

On Bubba, Hogan instead claimed an announcement would be made next week and they would be testing the proposed schedule out.

Martin sent along the following additional notes from the appearance:
Bubba The Love Sponge and Hogan put over Jeff Jarrett, saying he was one of the good guys. Hogan said there were issues with Vince Russo and Jarrett back in the day (Bash at the Beach) but after everything is flushed out, he is one of the good guys.

Hogan put over Sting saying that Sting was on fire after what he did to Hogan.

Bubba suggested getting rid of the Russos and the cancers and run with Hogan, Flair and Hardys, having them storyboard the show.

Hogan said there is a point/counterpoint for Russo/Hardys that he can't get into but Bubba is going in the right direction overall.

Kurt is talking about the stuff Punk has said about him on twitter.

Translation: "LOOK AT ME, NOT HIM! ME!"

Punk would probably Tweet back:

At least I'm Straight-edge!
"What was that? I can't hear you over all those pills you're chewing."

If WWE drops the ball on Punk and lets him go it'll be a major mistake imo. The storyline potential for CM Punk alone right now is incredible. I've been thinking all day of what they could do for CM Punk and if I can come up with such good ideas on my own I would hope the WWE writers could do the same. What Punk proved to me last night is he can single handedly change the direction of the entire company if the WWE allows him to do so.

I think the writers can come up the same ideas we do if not better. It's just a matter of having the people that make the final call listen.

Did anyone else get the image of Kurt Angle as the kid raising his hand in class to answer the question and going "Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Pick Me! Pick Me!"

He is? What company? :oldrazz:

Just kidding...well a little. Is mainstream even that aware of Impact's existence?

They're # 2 at least until ROH gets their tv stuff off the ground.

The face of a company way behind in number 2 as far as national wrestling goes.

I'm curious to what Paul Heyman thought of Punk's promo.

A bit of a repost from earlier but with some new information:

- Sources report that CM Punk's entire promo at the end of RAW this week was improvised by Punk and not scripted. Nobody in the back knew what Punk was going to say until he said it live on RAW.

WWE officials told Punk to go out and say in his own words why he was leaving the company, why he wanted the WWE Title and why he wanted to leave with it in his possession. There was a discussion that when officials felt Punk was going too far, they would pull the plug on the segment and cut his mic.

It's said that Punk was upset months ago when Triple H came back to feud with The Undertaker and while some of his comments on RAW towards Vince McMahon were well thought out to appear not as a shoot to the average viewer, most believe that Punk's comments towards Triple H and John Laurinaitis were strictly a shoot.

Word also is that Punk had some notes for his speech jotted down on his wrist tape.

As far as his contract status, Punk's deal apparently expires the second week of July but he signed an extension to work through Money in the Bank. Still with last night's new storyline development, sources maintain that Punk is leaving at Money in the Bank.

And in my opinion, those sources will continue to "maintain" that Punk is leaving after Money In The Bank.

Not saying he's -not- leaving, but if he does resign, it's not gonna leak.

If that's the case, I commend WWE for not cutting him off sooner. The could have easily done so when he started talking about McMahon, but they waited for him bringing up the bullying campaign before the ended it.

And yet, 95% of the mainstream don't know that promotion exists.

He is? What company? :oldrazz:

Angle is the "face" of TNA? Really?

......Huh.

It doesn't matter if TNA is far behind WWE in the ratings or has the mainstream awareness of WWE or not. The fact of the matter is TNA is the 2nd largest national wrestling promotion with a major network television deal in the US, and several other countries, today. TNA views Angle as their #1 guy in the company.

To say he isn't relevant in the wrestling business is just asinine.

Angle's importance is without question. But Impact for me feels like such an afterthought that calling it the number two wrestling promotion sounds so weird. I'd put ROH over them right now.

Not saying he's -not- leaving, but if he does resign, it's not gonna leak.

True. If he is re-signing, it'll be one of the most wrapped up pieces of information.
