TNA is just knocking it out of the park for me lately. Plenty of in-ring action, limited backstage segments, the Bound For Glory series helping to place emphasis on the importance of the world championship, strong heel work from Roode and Bully Ray, the Aces & Eights storyline...all good stuff!

The only thing I haven't liked was the Claire Lynch storyline, and thankfully that is over. (Even that had a slight silver lining with entertaining heel work from Kaz and Daniels)

Overall, I'm a very happy viewer right now!

My reaction to the last match:

I think tonight TNA set up how they were going to make Roode vs. Storm for the TNA title BFG by having Arie's arm cushed by the Aces and 8's.

They can play up an injury angle and force Aries to give up his title due to inactivity

Title goes vacant until BFG,Storm beats Roode for the title and ends his rivalry/feud/storyline with Roode,Aries comes back looking strong as he never lost the title in a match and goes into a feud with Storm for the title,All 3 men remain on top of the company and in the ME scene for a while

I remember the last time Jericho returned as a "savior" he lost steam and had to work his way back as a heel. It seems like this time he returned as heel , lost his momentum , and was starting to work his way back up as a face.

I would blame it on WWE failing to capitalize on him every time he came. Most likely due to HHH's input.

2007 - Could've won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton to make an impact.

2008 - Could've won Money In The Bank to keep interest as a babyface

2012 - Should've won the Royal Rumble

Sadly, Chris Jericho is a lot like Bret Hart. Phenominal in-ring worker who could've been a bigger star had it not been for backstage politics.

I'm one of those people who thought that Jericho could've been a bigger star, but as you said he took the backseat as soon as Triple H beat him for the undisputed title. His peak years were 2000 as a face, and 2008 as a heel, IMO. But yeah, I feel like he should've at least been on the level of Kurt Angle.

It went downhill after Triple H. They had some decent matches but the feud never really caught on for me. I thought the highlight of Jericho's undisputed run was facing Rock at the Royal Rumble. He's still had a good career but should of been on the level of Kurt Angle. That bout with Benoit and Angle at WM 20 was classic.

I think Jericho has done it all but I still would want to see him face Undertaker at Wrestlemania. That's highly unlikely this coming year but maybe WM 30.

Aside from his book's "not so subtle" hints Jericho has spoke about backstage backstabbing on the show Off the Record. I'm sure Triple H was the main culprit. Jericho speaks highly of Stephanie though. I wonder if there's some jealousy there.

Jeezus why the hell isn't NXT on TV some of the stuff I read on NXT is better than what Raw is doing these days.

NXT is my favorite WWE show right now.

Now, that's how you move the Aces and Eights storyline right there!!!

Hulk Hogan returns as Hollywood Hulk Hogan, the Claire Lynch storyline had ended thank goodness, Robbie E pulls off an upset, the latest Gutcheck competitor is clearly not ready for TNA television, Alex Silva is still around so that we don't forget him, we have teacher vs. student with Tara and Tessmacher, and the BFG series continues to impress.

On top of all this is the centerpiece storyline in the Aces and Eights. The beginning and end of Impact was awesome. Austin Aries is injured and his World title reign may be in jeopardy. They may have found a way to have Bobby Roode and James Storm for the title at BFG if they're still going with the plan.

Great edition of Impact that I can watch over and over if I want to.

Who's on the booking/creative team for NXT?

I could be Wrong but I think HHH is the head of it. I heard a while ago that Vince McMahon is keeping his hands off developmental which could be the reason why NXT is doing so well. Maybe a sign for Vince to retire.

And IF Trips is the main one in charge of development shows like FCW&NXT..It's a sign he should taker over a big WWE TV show like at least Smackdown

Where can one watch that NXT match with Punk in that tag match. I remember watching Punk vs Chris Hero and they fought for over 80 min I believe. I'd love to see those two in the same ring again.

The only thing I'm curious about is how they get the title back on Roode, or if they put it up as vacant. I'm also curious what they'll do with Aries, as they obviously are going to want him on the BFG card.

My guess is he competes in some multi-man tag match at BFG to get his revenge on Aces & 8's first. Then he'll move on to getting his title after BFG.

Funny to hear this talk about CM Punk being the "heel".

It's said that the best villain is the one who thinks they're right. However, if that person is telling the truth, are they really the bad guy?

Other heels I agreed with over the years:
Randy Savage turning on Hogan because Hogan was getting a little too friendly with Elizabeth

Whenever Edge and Christian would make fun of the local sports team's misfortunes.

When Luna Vachon was speaking about how Sable only got her spot because of her looks

Kane during his feuds with his brother since it was The Undertaker who burned the house down!

The Rock when he joined the Corporation.

Sting turning on Hogan at Fall Brawl 1999. After everything Hogan did to him, Stinger was justified in his actions.

Stone Cold when he joined the Alliance. He went back to his character's roots.

Paul Heyman when he cut the infamous "shoot" promo on Vince

Kurt Angle in general, but especially in 2001, the night after Survivor Series 2001, he was going to get awarded the WWF title for helping the WWF beat the Alliance only to get booed. When Austin came out he got cheered even though not even 24 hours before that he was trying to put the WWF out of business!

Matt Hardy (or anybody for that matter) when he feuded with Jeff.

Sean O'Haire when he was playing Devil's advocate.

Triple H during his feud with Goldberg (although to be fair, WWE was making Goldberg look bad in almost every way possible for each of his feuds.)

Randy Orton. He got screwed of his first world title and had every right to get back at Triple H for it.

JBL. Every word that came out of his mouth was almost 100% truth.

Chris Jericho when he turned on Shawn Michaels for using questionable tactics. Also calling the fans hypocrites.

In the WWE universe, you're the bad guy if you try to have good morals. See: Bret Hart, Molly Holly, and Right To Censor.

What says you?

I think a lot of what makes a heel of face work nowadays is that backstage information is so easy to come by more than it did back in the 80's. That's why I'm still baffled that John Cena hasn't had a heel turn yet. A lot of people despise him, I say run with it.

Lord knows I hated the Claire storyline, but wrestling fans truly are in a class of their own when it comes to being slime.

WHY THE CLAIRE LYNCH STORYLINE WAS DROPPED BY TNA
by Mike Johnson @ 9:10 AM on 8/24/2012

As we discussed yesterday on the No Name Show, TNA ended up wrapping up the AJ Styles-Claire Lynch storyline on last night's Impact Wrestling.

Why? Well, the short version of the story is that the actor playing Claire Lynch, quit the company.

The longer version of the story is why she bolted. A number of TNA sources over the last several days confirmed that she gave immediate notice she was quitting after fans online figured out her real name (we are witholding that name for reasons that will be clear as you continue to read) and began bombarding her professional website, LinkedIn.com and Youtube.com accounts with derogatory and hateful messages about her acting, her character's actions and her character's appearance.

Disgusted by the situation because as a working actor (I do not believe she was signed to a contract by the company) who was still going out on auditions for other roles, she didn't want potential employers and casting directors researching her to come across the hateful scorn, which was described to me as "some of the most classless garbage you'd expect to see, just low rent message board loser stuff." So, she quit the company and immediately turned off all her professional accounts in an attempt to deflect the hatred.

So, the long form answer is that fans who didn't like the storyline harassed her into quitting the promotion.
