The Wrestling Thread Mustache You a Question

Well finally watched Raw, was a touch watch, mostly as I was beyond bored. This is all I can remember from it.

Cena's long drawn out intro was awful as always, why do they give him so long on the mic, he is getting worse and worse.

Punk/Taker was alright, the odd end where it cut back to Taker as he did sweet FA in the ring so the camera just panned around until the break, nice way to break any momentum in that promo.

The Team Hell No vs Ziggler and Big E for the tag belts just seems so odd, is it to give Ziggler some sort of title as we've being waiting so long for something, and a reason to break up Bryan and Kane.

Triple Threat for the IC was an ok match, but as always the heel gets the cheap win, making him look weak, and quite frankly I think I could beat Miz in a fight the frog faced tool.

Brock/HHH was dull as we all know HHH is gonna win. Good on Brock to ask for so much money cos if your gonna job to a broken guy might aswell get good money for it!

One of my problems with Cena in WWE...they seem to try so hard to put over some guys like Del Rio or Sheamus by giving them some room to breath, but that same kind of room hurts guys like Cena who becomes less and less interesting on the mic unless he's really focused on something. When he rambles off, it's not a good thing and that's the same exact problem Dwayne has had ever since his return as well.

i want a heel turn by orton but i fear it could end up with him leading the shield and that would suck hard

Del Rio is not getting over at all, no matter how much Vince wants a Latin star to cash in on that poor market.

Sheamus might be slightly over but the guy is dull, just a pale HHH with not as much charisma.

- There has been some talk of having Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns go over Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show at WrestleMania 29, leading to the long-awaited Orton heel turn.

That's my best guess on what would happen too. Team Big Celtic Viper almost has a win but Orton screws it up for the team and The Shield gets the win.

I just wonder what Show will be doing now after WM 29 if Orton and Sheamus are going to start feuding. Hopefully Big Show doesn't end up being the next Ryback who feuds with Shield to just lose over and over :funny:

- Another big heel turn in the works may be Kofi Kingston.

That's surprising to hear.

Everyone turns heel but no one will answer my prayer of turning Cena, lol.

- The Divas match at WrestleMania 29 may end up being eight-Divas action The Bella Twins, Layla and Tamina Snuka vs. Kaitlyn, Cameron, Naomi and TV personality Maria Menounos.

Well, I know when my pee break will be.

Well...:funny:

It does kinda give a prediction already of who will win, haha.

With a 3 hour show why don't the Divas get anytime to get a story or promos going.
TNA give the Knockouts alot of time.

I feel sorry for my love Kaitlyn since she has being champ she's done nothing, we get the wooden Layla doing this awful in awe of the belt shtick and Tamina somehow getting a shot. Now we have the Bellas back, while looking nice aren't that great.

If your not gonna use your women on the primary show why have them at all, as filler for Smackdown or the other 4 or 5 filler shows.

The only heel Kofi Kingston promo I've ever seen: [YT]tbQcXE59eDk[/YT]

Already have Cesaro doing that.

A Kofi heel turn could work if his gimmick is radically changed. I would imagine a gimmick similar to the Nation of Domination....a Black militant type of character, although I do not know if it would work today. It might stand out though.

Earlier today TNA taped their Hardcore Justice 2 pay-per-view event, which will air later this year. All matches were wrestled under Hardcore rules. Here are the full results.

* Tag Team Ladder match: Christopher Daniels and Kazarian defeated Generation Me.

* LAX defeated The New Church.

* ODB defeated Jackie Moore in a Hardcore Knockouts Match.

* Hardcore Gauntlet Match: Shark Boy wins over Gunner, Crimson, Devon Storm, Little Guido, Funaki, Sam Shaw, Johnny Swinger, and 2 Cold Scorpio.

* James Storm, Magnus and Hardcore Holly defeated the DOC, Wes Brisco and Knox.

* Monster's Ball Match: Joseph Park defeated Judas Mesias. Mesias was escorted to the ring by James Mitchell.

* Tag Team Tables Match: Jeff Hardy and Spike Dudley defeated Team 3D.

This card is weak.

Randy Orton's act has been stale since 2007. A heel turn wont make any difference. The guy is straight boring. Plus, he walks to the ring too slow. :D

Change the music. Create a new finisher or at least the name of Trouble In Paradise and have Alicia Fox be his servant.

I was thinking..

With the whole PG direction and family friendly focus I'm surprised WWE hasn't launched a new cartoon show on a network like Cartoon Network,Kids would eat it up and even though I'm already 27 years old I'd check it out depending on the style.

I really think an animation show based on the WWE Heroes Comics with it's art style or Clone Wars or at least something like Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes would be cool&could work,Rey Mysterio as a super hero when not wrestling/Undertaker&Kane actually being demon sorcerers/Triple H being a Conan the Barbarian type of warrior king/etc is indeed ridiculous and it's their characters turned on full blast But the wrestling aspect is still there and so there would be plenty of wrestling action each episode.

Would likely just last a season or two But still I'd like it given a try,I'm likely one of the very few fans of the comics But still lol

Putting Triple H's career on the line is just him getting his ego stroked for a number of reasons. First of all it builds his career up like something worthy of this kind of match. When he finally comes out triumphant over Lesnar it will look even better. Like he had the guts to put it all on the line and still came out on top over the beast that is Lesnar.

Plus he loves echoing Flair and Michaels. He's spent years copying sh** they did first. He also knows that since they also put their careers on the line and lost some fans out there might think he might actually lose and it gets the match more attention. Its trying to make this match a big deal because his mentor and best friends career threatening matches were seen as big deals.

There's just no way he'd actually retire to Lesnar though. No way.
This actually brings me to an interesting question that I could've sworn I heard debated before by some former wrestlers, but where would people rank Triple H and his career, in regards to the other greats in the past 30 years? Top 10, Top 20, Top 50, etc?

Personally, while I think he was definitely a big piece of the later years of Attitude era, I wouldn't rank him all that high. He may have been the champion for most of that time, but I never saw him as being better than the likes of Undertaker, The Rock or Stone Cold.

I'd say even Foley was more over than Triple H. I respect Triple H but he's just a guy that wasn't as big as those guys.

The following was taped for the TNA One Night Only pay-per-view to crown the best TNA Champion in TNA history from the IMPACT Zone in Orlando, Florida:

1. James Storm defeated Mr. Anderson'

2. Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Hardy

3. Austin Aries defeated Kurt Angle

4. James Storm defeated Bully Ray by disqualification

5. Bobby Roode defeated Sting

6. Samoa Joe defeated Austin Aries

7. Bobby Roode defeated James Storm

8. Bobby Roode defeated Samoa Joe to win the tournament.

I'd say even Foley was more over than Triple H. I respect Triple H but he's just a guy that wasn't as big as those guys.

That's pretty much where I'd put him. He was third tier in the Attitude Era behind Austin and Rock. That's not a bad spot to be in, but when they make him out as some sort of icon, they're overrating him.

- A lot of creative changes went down within WWE around the time of this year's Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Vince McMahon hasn't been happy with the booking of WWE's undercard for a while now, which is the main reason why Eric Pankowski got fired two weeks ago.

- As noted before, the current plan is for Triple H to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The big issue is that WWE officials want Lesnar to headline WrestleMania 30 against The Rock so he shouldn't be doing any jobs now. Regarding Rock vs. Brock, the plan is to do a subtle tease with the two on the RAW the night after WrestleMania this year. The idea is to only do a tease and not push it too hard so fans won't expect it's happening at SummerSlam.

- In an update on Rey Mysterio possibly leaving WWE soon, word now is that he may be looking to be released and WWE is considering granting it if they can keep merchandise rights. Other sources indicate that WWE really wants him to stay and will be doing everything in their power to keep him.

- As noted earlier, Booker T stated on the WWE App last night that his brother from Harlem Heat, Stevie Ray, will be reuniting with him at the WWE Hall of Fame this year. The plan had been to induct Harlem Heat as a team but apparently Stevie didn't get the call to be inducted in the end.

*SPOILERS* WWE SMACKDOWN TAPINGS RESULTS FOR FRIDAY (3/22)

Thanks to David D. for the following results from Cincinnati, Ohio:
-Smackdown opens with Sheamus and Randy Orton on MizTV. They talk about adding Big Show to their team. Both men talk about not being able to trust him, and that prompts Big Show to come out. The Miz says that he would not trust Big Show, since he turned on him when they were a tag team. Show says his opinion doesn’t matter. Show explains why he should be in the match and Sheamus wonders if Show will leave them hanging and turn their backs on them. Randy Orton steps in the way of Sheamus and Show, and then Booker T says that they will see how they can fare in 6 man tag team action later tonight.
1. Mark Henry defeated Zack Ryder. Henry hit multiple World’s Strongest Slams onto Ryder. That brings out Ryback, who stared at him and then he clotheslined Henry. Henry escaped from the ring and walked up the ramp.
- Booker T talks about how Teddy Long helped Vickie make the Wrestlemania match. He is upset at Teddy, and Long says that inducting Booker T in the Hall of Fame changed him. Booker T Hall of Fame video is shown.
2. Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston in an entertaining match. When the match went to the outside, he hit a Fameasser onto Kingston on the outside. He tossed him back into the ring and hit the Zig Zag for the victory. Big E Langston attacked Kingston after the match.
Zeb Colter walks out with Jack Swagger, and Jack talks about his America. They talk about how Ricardo getting his ankle broke was necessary. Zeb continues talking about getting revenge and serving Jack’s America. Swagger says “We, The People.”
3. Jack Swagger defeated Chris Jericho in a great match. At the end of the match, the titantron went out and Fandango’s new set dropped. He distracts Jericho, which begins his downfall. He fought off Swagger shortly after, but the number one contender had Zeb Colter distract the referee so Fandango hit Jericho. Swagger picked up the victory.
-After the match, he hit a legdrop on Jericho from the top rope. He pronounced his name and left.
4. Team Rhodes Scholars vs. Tensai and Brodus Clay end in No Contest. The Bellas came out with Rhodes and Sandow. The women got involved and brawled a little on the outside.
- Matt Striker interviews Sheamus and Randy Orton. They are asked if they can trust Big Show. Sheamus says yes and also says he hopes Big Show trusts them as much as they trust him for tonight.
5. The Miz defeated Antonio Cesaro with the figure four leglock. Wade Barrett was on commentary during the match. After the bout, Miz locked in the hold again and yelled for Barrett to get into the ring. Barrett retreated, holding up his Intercontinental Championship. After the match, Miz locked the figure hour in again and begs Barrett to enter the ring. Barrett held up the belt and walked away.
6. Randy Orton, Sheamus, and The Big Show defeated 3MB. The Big Show hit a Knockout Punch and then Sheamus tagged himself in to hit a Brogue Kick for the victory. The Shield came out when Sheamus and Big Show were arguing. They surrounded the ring, but would retreat when Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show came together.

Also, I know this is probably a topic that gets brought up all the time, but is Vince still hardcore against bringing in War Games? I think that, scaffold matches, and the Jim Crockett Memorial Cup tag tournament were my favorite things about the old NWA/early WCW.

They are releasing a dvd/blu ray about War Games later this year. I'm kind of hoping that this will lead to its eventual return, particularly since Hunter is a fan.
