The Wrestling Thread...NINJA PLEASE! - Part 31

I'm disappointed with the ending. It's obvious Laurenitiis is working against HHH (perhaps for Vince), but I don't see where the money is for Awesome Truth vs. HHH/Punk (and HHH/Punk already beat the crap out of them tonight).

...unless Cena becomes the Corporate Champ. With HHH staying face, who does Punk go up against?

Look, I get that people are saying "it continues story line" ...But...How? Punk once again says he refuses to believe that Triple H wasn't in on this? Or now Punk and Triple H form some kind of alliance because Punk will now see that Triple H ISN'T in on it?

This didn't make sense.. For anyone.

I fully expected Triple H to win... and for storyline progression I wanted him to win... I just don't know how this fits into anything.

I maybe alone but I actually really dug HHH and Punk teaming up for that one brief moment.

People are gonna get mad that Punk lose without realizing Punk would have gained nothing from winning tonight. Build it up to make it more special. Most of the iwc lack patience.

credit where credit is due....Miz is doing a good job of just oozing frustration....getting shoved down to the midcard and buying into Truths "conspiracy"

I'm sure this will keep us talking until RAW. :funny:

I actually almost see them going in a route where Hunter and Punk finally start to respect each other, then team up against Laurinitis, Nash, and Awesome Truth and anyone else going against them.

Then when that's done, HHH turns on Punk for real.

Loved that whole main event. It just had an Attitude Era feel to it with the brawling around the arena, ref bumps, run ins, and surprising moments. Goes to show you can book a really good cluster**** once in a while.

Shocked how strong Punk got to look against HHH, he even kicked out of the pedigree. I like that they kept the finish convoluted so now, when they eventually have their big time feud ending match, it'll feel bigger when they go a whole match uninterrupted with a clean finish.

This is what a ppv is suppose to do. Get your ass to tune in tomorrow night at 8 oclock.

I don't think I'd ever buy a PPV, they all seem like big commercials for Raw. "Tune in tomorrow night for the epic conclusion!" lol.

Johnny Ace made it look way too obvious he was trying to screw HHH.I think at HIAC we're going to Awesome Truth vs. Punk/HHH.Hunter will turn on him then perhaps.

Part of me thinks that Hunter isn't going to turn heel. I really don't... Tonight was the perfect night to do that... now he has no reasoning to do it.. more so since he HAS to know Johnny Ace is trying to screw him over.

This feud could culminate at Wrestlemania. There's several ways they can make it last. I'm not surprised they haven't pulled the trigger on a Triple H heel turn yet.

So they'll leave Del Rio as the top heel? Eh...

I would rather they went this way too. Hunter screwing someone over in the end is so tired, I'd rather they just try something different.

I always give the WWE a chance... but something about tonight didn't feel "right." I guess I'll just have to wait for Raw.

HHH respects Punk more now because he saw how hard it was to beat him and he helped him out against Nash.

Punk looked like a beast tonight. It took three Pedigrees, a jacknife, a miz and truth beatdown, and a Triple H asswhooping to pin him. Guy looked like a beast.

Exactly. If HHH was turning heel it should've been tonight. Otherwise...why would he turn heel (barring some dumb Vince Russo booking)?

He wasn't working with Nash (otherwise he has to explain hitting Nash with a sledgehammer), def not working with Laurenitiis.

I feel like they're going the Vince/Nash/Laurenittis/Old School Business with Awesome Truth as their champions against HHH/Punk/New School.

And that seems like an okay angle, but honestly the real big money is Cena turning heel. Somebody posted it in this thread, have Cena as the appointed Corporate Champion (it's why he gets all the chances in the world, why he gets to take on Mysterio after Mysterio already had a match that night), Rock come back for Wrestlemania (they're going to boo Cena anyway) and eventually have Punk vs. heel Cena as the storyline for next summer post Rock/Cena.

Punk wasn't buried. Honestly, he kicked out of the pedigree, took a beating from two midcarders, and a powerbomb from a 7 foot guy. They protected the hell out of him. Burying him would have been Triple H beating him alone, with no help, and no offense from Punk.

Maybe with Punk getting chants and selling shirts like he is... maybe they'll pull the trigger on a Cena heel turn?

If they were going to do that, I would've thought Summerslam as the best time. Why would Cena turn now?

Maybe it would happen at Survivor Series, turning against the Rock

One thing though is they did protect Punk.It took three Pedigres to keep him down along with a jacknife powerbomb. So he wasn't buried. He took the fight right to Punk.

The problem with turning Cena heel, is who's gonna be THE guy. I think Punk can be a guy but Idk about THE guy.
