see nell i'm not like metallo or HR i do agree with you on some points. i enjoyed the dx reunion in the same way i'm enjoying punks current run. for the inside jokes the stuff the other guys watching don't get but it do
the problem with you is its one rule for one not with everyone. to say punk is getting stale for doing the exact same gags( though admit tingly with a more nasty edge) that HHH, Dx, the rock etc have done for years
thats where you come across as hypocritical you sit there and lap up this gimmick when its a favourite of yours but cry foul and stale when its a guy you have admitted to not liking.
you say you watch wrestling for the storys not for the behind the scenes aspects, sorry that impossible both affect the outcome of each other and to take one and ignore the other shows you only pay attention of half the story especially when the storys you crave are doing they're damndest to mix the two and have done so from the "glory days" of the attitude era
no one here is demanding you worship at the alter of punk

but at least remove the blinkers and see that other people have put across valid points or come up with a valid counter argument rather than cry bully
That's all fine and good, but I've already expressed why Rock, Triple H, or Miz' "repetition" works for me, and CM Punk's isn't.
The repetition of those guys was in catchphrases. "I am The Game, and I am that damn good!" "IF YA SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'!!!" "I'm THE MIZ, and I'M AWESOME!!!"
Those are catchphrases... intended to be repetitive, but not the bulk of the promos. Those guys come out with different jokes every week. I'd tune in never knowing what to expect from a guy like The Rock or Triple H. And Miz isn't nearly on that level, but he does just random, spontaneous **** that to me is just hilarious.
CM Punk's repetition isn't catchphrases. It's coming out every week and saying "I break the rules", "I drop pipebombs", dropping a "shoot" name, and saying he wants change. Every promo since this angle with Triple H started has been the same. It was INCREDIBLE at the beginning. And then when I started hearing Punk give the same promo every night, it got stale.
Not only that, but they are Teddy Long booking CM Punk. They want him to be a face, but he is the heel in this angle. He came out and made his demands. He beat CM Punk and left the company with the belt. Triple H took over, and Triple H gave CM Punk all of his demands. He got his contract. He got his merchandise. He got his title shots, and his main events. CM Punk right now is THE GUY. He just main evented last night OVER A JOHN CENA TITLE MATCH. Right now, CM Punk is the guy.
And what's he do? He constantly disrespects Triple H, and Triple H's family... the guy who GAVE him all that stuff. And people say "Oh well Triple H this, Triple H that" and bring up all the stuff from Triple H's past, but none of that involved Punk! In regards to Triple H's involvement with Punk, Triple H has given into every Punk demand, and given Punk everything he wanted. Okay, except ice cream bars. But Punk is still whining, *****ing, and disrespecting him.
People play the "don't you relate to a guy who's frustrated with his boss?" card, but if I go to my boss and tell him I'm dissatisfied, and then my boss turns around and gives me a raise, a promotion, and tons of benefits, then it's hard to play the victim card, right?
That's my beef with Punk. That's why Punk to me is repetitive, while guys like The Rock, Triple H, and Miz aren't repetitive. And that's what I've been explaining time and time again, but that's not good enough to anyone in this thread. They still have to go on and on and on and on about how I'm wrong. OH NOEZ I had the audacity to say something negative about Punk.
All of a sudden, all the great stuff I've said about Punk is meaningless because I said something less positive than "Punk is the greatest in the world!" And then people throw accusations around that I just have Triple H blinders on, because they need to find some kind of way to justify my not liking CM Punk's current direction, which is a load of crap. I cheered with Cena gave the AA to The Rock the Raw before Wrestlemania. Because seeing Cena step up, get a bit edgy, and put Rocky down made the angle more interesting.
And yea there is an element of me just not liking Punk. I can't stand people that think that their way is the only way, and that everyone else has to conform to their line of thinking, otherwise they don't know anything. That's the mentality that Punk exudes to me. And I've never been shy about that. Even when I was loving Punk, I never hid the fact that I'd never fully relate to him because I hate people like that. And that's exactly how Punk comes off.
If CM Punk was more interesting, I've been proclaiming forever that he needs to go over Triple H. But his current direction right now, no, I don't want to see him go over Triple H. He's a whiny brat that got everything that he wanted, and he's still crying about being so held down. So no, I don't want to see him go over Triple H.
And if my reasoning for not liking CM Punk right now isn't good enough for anyone, that's
THEIR problem, not mine.
