The Wrestling Thread...NINJA PLEASE! - Part 31

I personally liked the idea someone had that Triple H is innocent but dealing with everyone's shenanigans and conspiracies with Punk on top of it drives him over the edge.

Think that was me. It would make sense with what's happened so far, and leads to the same Punk going over conclusion.

I would just like to avoid the whole ''IT WAS ME ALLLL ALONG!'' thing. He already did that when Rikishi ran Stone Cold over. And before that Vince did it with the Undertaker.

I think they booked John Cena to win to make it up to the fans for Mark Henry winning. Shame it killed all of Del Rio's crediblity by doing so.

I am curious about the inclusion of Johnny Ace into this. Perhaps he's Vince's puppet. What if Ace's purpose is to make HHH look incompetent so the board will fire him and bring Vince back?

Either that or Laurinaitus wants to be the CEO.

WWE Night of Champions Notes: Fans Upset at Beth's Loss, Signs Taken Away and More
By Marc Middleton
Sep 19, 2011 - 8:38:25 AM

- Some of the Buffalo Bills players were in attendance at last night's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view in Buffalo, NY. On a related note, former WWE announcer Todd Grisham was in attendance for the Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles game in Atlanta.

- WWE referred John Laurinaitis as Mr. Future Endeavors for the first time last night at Night of Champions.

- Several fans noted that security was taking away a lot of signs last night at the pay-per-view in Buffalo.

- After Beth Phoenix lost to Kelly Kelly in her hometown, there was a huge "********" chant from the crowd for over a minute. WWE had Beth penciled in to win the Divas Title for weeks but obviously changed plans.

As far as Beth losing last night in the words of Sting (when HE had to deal with some bullsh** in a title match) "I agree! I agree!"

Kevin Nash Hurt in the Main Event at WWE's Night of Champions PPV?
By Marc Middleton
Sep 19, 2011 - 8:42:53 AM

- After Triple H decked Kevin Nash with a sledgehammer in the main event at Night of Champions, Michael Cole, who had lost his voice, was seen writing something on a piece of paper and showing it to Jerry Lawler. Lawler then showed the paper to members of the WWE crew who then ran to the backstage area.

After the main event, Nash stayed on the floor until someone came from the back to tend to him. The "X" symbol was thrown up and other officials came to check on Nash, even Jerry Lawler. Nash finally staggered to his feet and was helped to the back by officials.

To give him credit the big fella lasted a little longer going injury free than I expected.

Backstage News on Angle vs. Roode at BFG, Bischoff Good with Spike, Impact
By Marc Middleton
Sep 19, 2011 - 8:51:56 AM

- Stan sent word that there was 39 minutes and 4 seconds of in-ring action on this past Thursday's episode of Impact Wrestling.

- Eric Bischoff has reportedly gained more power within TNA as of late as his relationship with Spike TV is said to be better than ever.

- The decision has been made to push Kurt Angle vs. Robert Roode big time as the top Bound For Glory main event. There were some within the company upset with TNA pulling the Sting vs. Hulk Hogan match that has been teased for well over a year now.

There's still no word yet on what kind of match Sting and Hogan will participate in or who the third person in a three-way might be. For what it's worth, some still believe that Hogan will end up wrestling the singles match against Sting.

Partial source: PWInsider
Interesting. If Hogan leaves does that mean Bischoff might stay?

As for Sting vs Hogan TNA was stupid to waste everybodies time hyping a match that had little chance of happening.

At least Flair took an awesome bump against Sting. Red'n'Yellow Leather's not even going to leave his feet if he wrestles at BFG.

I guess Triple H is rusty with the sledgehammer.

"You're damn right it was me, Shawn"

:hehe:

Either that or Laurinaitus wants to be the CEO.

That would be where this plot would intuitively go, except that Laurinaitus has zero charisma and stage presence. If I didn't know better, I'd find it difficult to believe he was a worker; he looks more out of place in a scenario than Bobby Lashley.

Johnny Ace is replacing Batista as the official ladies man of the WWE.

I wonder why the WWE changed there mind and had Beth lose to Kelly Kelly

As Kevin Smith would put it, "HOW MANY ***** DID YOU SUCK?''

I bet you Cena loses the title at HIAC.I mean just one more title reign out of the hundreds we've had this year.

Probably because Beth refused to sleep with Johnny Ace and Kelly Kelly was more than willing to do that.
I figured since Beth is CM Punk's lady this would be a breeze, I guess they aren't as high on Beth as they are with Punk; unless this is leading to something big.

The WWE Championship is basically John Cena's belt which the WWE lets other wrestlers hold on to every now and again.

I feel next to no jeopardy when Cena wrestles for that belt.

ADR makes swagger title reign look legendary

ADR was a waste Of The Royal Rumble and Money in The Bank

was booked weak before Mania losing to christian several times and lost to edge cleanly at mania

was booked weak before MITB cash in at Summer Slam even loosing to cm punk cleanly on raw

he cashes in and is still not treated like a real champ and loses title at the next ppv cleanly LOL

:csad: Del Rio had so much promise.

But booking ruined that by rushing him to this "destiny" instead of building him up to the next Wrestlemania. That's when he should have cashed in.

Now he's like the Ultimate Warrior. After winning the WWE title he's peaked and with no place to go.

I feel he needs to be sent back to SD! and rebuilt in the mid-card. Take some time to establish him as a credible threat. Put him in a feud with Big Zeke, Ted Dibiase on a quest for the IC belt.

I'm writing this without reading any posts, I missed the opening tag match but the rest of the PPV was excellent.

The IC title match was a solid bout that was probably the best Ted has had since his matches with Daniel Bryan. Sadly the crowd didn't give a crap.

The US title 4 way was an exciting highspot match with some great work from JoMo and Swagger in particular. Ziggler got a little mixed up at one point though when he was yelling at Vickie about stopping A pin fall that would have cost him the match. :funny:

I'm sure Kelly's victory was crapped on heavy here but it was a good match and IMO Kelly is now a really solid babyface worker, her and Beth have good ring chemistry and given the small roster that can actually work I don't mind them drawing Beth's win out for two more weeks.

Th Christian/Sheamus mic segment was ok, Sheamus as a face still doesn't work for me when he's on the mic.

Orton vs Henry was exactly the match it needed to be, Orton is not a classic face like Cena so working from underneath is not natural for him, but the match told a good story and I was shocked when Big Mark got the clean win, but happy.

Cena vs Del Rio was easily the best match Del Rio has had so far, they gelled really well and I like how they protected his Jugitame. I know most will hate the result but I'm gonna hold off to see if there is a bigger picture.

Punk vs Triple H was an epic brawl, and unlike Russorific run ins, the run ins here added to the match and left everyone confused over who to trust. The match was give and take, Punk was heavily protected in his loss, and Triple H won which was the right result for the angle.

No he wasn't and the fact that you think that shows how damaged that matches concept has become.

The point of the Royal Rumble should be that ANYBODY can win and it shouldn't be viewed as a guaranteed title win.

rumble winner should be a top star or upcoming star to ascend to the main event scene

whats the point if you are gonna lose

its like having mitb winner lose his cash in

Except when I said so and I got blasted for it.

Just saw this, just stop Nell, you got blasted for the stuff you were saying about Punk when all your favs do the same, and it finally came out that it was your "IWC" hatred in full effect, which baffles me since YOU are part of the IWC.

EVERYONE agreed from the moment the match was made that Triple H had to win to keep the angle going.

Eh, there's an argument either side, but the thing that hurt it was the fact his title match went on first, the Rumble winner was the event's curtain jerker.

Mark Henry getting the title with the way he's been pushed as an unstoppable beast is a smart move and good to see it happen.

Gotta wonder how Orton felt on a night he did a clean job for Mark Henry, watching Triple H give and take so much with Punk in the kind of wild brawl they should have had at Wrestlemania 25, and how Punk was protected so heavily in comparison to him.
