Theories and Speculation

We're now at the point in the film-following process where images and information will start surfacing more frequently. But how do they fit together? What will be some of the plot points of the film? It's highly unlikely that we'll know for sure until we see the film ourselves.

But we can take the material we're given as well as our knowledge of the source material, and speculate about what may happen in the film.

Pretty much every thread in a spoiler forum contains speculation, yes, but this thread is more for the discussion of our theories. So, if you have a logical theory that can be backed up by some level of evidence, feel free to post them here.

Bamfer's Theory on How Goku, Bulma and Roshi Meet:

Following Grandpa Gohan's death, Goku goes in search of Master Roshi while Bulma tracks down a signal of Roshi's Dragonball. Both Goku and Bulma (who, at this point, have never met) end up in Roshi's house. Bulma notices an approaching signal, and, fearing that it may be dangerous (as she may have faced a threat to the Dragonballs previously [possibly Mai or Piccolo]), she jumps out in front of the other signal (Goku) with gun-in-hand. A bit of a conflict may ensue, and Master Roshi discovers both of them.

2. There was a leaked set image where Bulma is shown pointing her gun at presumably Jackson Spidell as Goku. The set appears to be the same and Spidell and Rossum are wearing the same outfits as seen in the above photo.[/CENTER]

Adam's theory is pretty interesting. I worry that it'd make the scene too busy, though, if it does take place when Goku first meets Roshi.

I had that same thought about that being Mai disguised as Goku. Only because I don't like the idea of Goku and Bulma meeting at Roshi's place.

I had that same thought about that being Mai disguised as Goku. Only because I don't like the idea of Goku and Bulma meeting at Roshi's place.

It's a great idea; it saves time and is also feasible.

If Mai were to disguise herself as Goku, chances are she'd be wearing whatever Goku is.

Well, he's wearing it in the shot with Master Roshi. It's the black jacket, underneath that is the purple button down shirt, and underneath that is the argyle shirt.

It wouldn't be that busy. Though one could assume that if there is a scene were Bulma hits Goku with a vehicle, it would be before this. Thus she could be worried about the man she just killed being a live.

Now seriously, based on that Bulma and Goku pic in Banfers post this is my theory

Gohan has died the day before, Goku goes to school one more day to say good bye to his friends, he's confronted by Carey Fuller, and this time Goku flattens him with his finger , he gets thrown out only to go back home and sense an intruder. Bulma has used her Dragonball Locator and tracked the signal to Goku's house. This will be when they first meet. If you look in the background, the bowstaff looks like it was wrapped, perhaps as a gift to Goku for his 18th?

I hope this film has easter eggs. IMO, they add to the excitement and enjoyment of the film. So each time you watch it you see and notice something new.
