"There should've been an animated series..."

Treasure Planet, was supposed to have one with Silver and the boy traveling through space
Star Trek 2009
Indiana Jones
Star Wars prequels between TPM and AOTC with Anakin and Obi-Wan as master and apprentice
Ice Age
The Patakis, a spin off of Hey Arnold
Finding Nemo
The Lion King, not based on Timon and Pumba
The Goonies
Explorers
Pirates of the Caribbean
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
The Iron Giant
Titan A.E.
Cloverfield
Watchmen
The Last Starfighter
Tron
The Dark Knight
Troll in Central Park, long overdue

some of these i think you're just throwing out random crap

it's either that, or 8wid is trying to be funny with some of the selections. can't tell.

Not a movie, but i still want Buffy the Animated Series to happen, dammit. :cmad:

The only reason I want to see that is just to see how differently things are with Dawn inserted into those years. Other than that, I think they did just about everything they could do with the high school years.

Indiana Jones goddammit. Just think of the possibilities.

I would agree. I've seen so much great fan art over the years that I'm convinced that an Indy cartoon would've owned all.

Indiana Jones (aformentioned bruce timm style)
The Boondock Saints (anime style)
Evil Dead/Army of Darkness (Tex Avery style)
Sin City (done exactly like the Frank Miller art)

That would kick ass.

Kick. Ass.

Sure, in theory all the cast could reprise their roles in live-action if it was set about 30 years or so after RotJ, but if there was a direct continuation after the events of Rotj, animation is the only way to go to cover up the ageing.

I don't know about Harrison Ford, but Mark Hamill would probably do it.

Some other animated series ideas:

Army of Darkness-
Ash gets spit out in different time periods and dimensions, fighting all sorts of demons and monsters.

Highlander-
I know there already was one, but it was kinda lame. There's also an anime, but I have't seen that yet. My idea is that it would be set in a different time period each episode, with Connor Macleod battling the Kurgan throughout the centuries.

Aliens vs Predator-
If they did this in the 90's, it would be like the old arcade game with Dutch Schaefer teaming up with the Predator against the Alien invasion.

Here are a couple of weird ideas:

Star Trek-
Animated adaptation of the original series' episodes using the show's soundtrack.

Inspector Gadget-
An edgier, not-too-cartoony updated version. Still a bit humorous, but more emphasis on action and adventure. Something like the 2003-2009 Ninja Turtles cartoon.

Tron
Labyrinth
Gremlins
Small Soldiers
Roger Rabbit/Toon Town

With the stuff Disney did in the 90's (Aladdin, Hercules etc) I'm surprised nothing has ever been done with,

The Incredibles
Toy Story
Monsters Inc

And thinking about it, with it being the money spinner it is, I'm also a little bit surprised something hasn't been attempted with Harry Potter..
They could do a series for each book and rather than focus on the main plots like the films do, they could focus more on the general happenings throughout the school year.. the different classes.. explore new characters..

There WAS a "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" series, but it was cel-animated (or whatever passes for it now) and was set in the story continuity of the Buzz Lightyear toy itself, so it was space adventures and constant battles with Zurg.

They already did that.

And it's for that reason I'd rather see an animated series set in the new timeline (preferably produced by Adelaide, though I know it's Columbia/TriStar-owned), with space sequences animated in the same manner as those in "Futurama".

Indiana Jones: An Indiana Jones animated done by Bruce Timm, similar to his BTAS style would blow my ****ing mind. It just seems so perfect for an animated series to me.

While not animated, they did have a live-action Young Indiana Jones show. It wasn't too bad. Had some decent things going for it.

They already did that.

I know about the 70's cartoon, but they did their own stories. What I meant was adapting the actual Star Trek episodes, and using the dialogue track from those shows. It would be animated in a modern style incorporating the look of the new movies. Could be a way to get younger people to check out the original series if they don't feel like watching an old 60's TV show.

Oh, well, I think that would be a waste. Just do new storylines with the visuals updated to the modern cast, and more action filled stuff that probably drew most of the younger audience to the reboot. I don't see any reason to adapt the full episodes over again, even with the exact same dialogue track. And, really, TOS kind of sucked anyway.

What the hell:huh::huh:

I'd love an Indiana Jones cartoon, but not Bruce Timm style. I'd preffer a more realistic animation was used, and I'd hope it wouldn't be taken down to kid's levels.

Serenity is another one I'd love to see, infact kill to see...kill...

Yes to the Indiana Jones: the animated series
http://www.joblo.com/animated-indy (not really about an animated Indy)
