No Way Home "There's No Place Like Home" - Andrew Garfield Returns As Webbverse Spider-Man

Did anyone think Garfield's line "There's magic here too" seem like foreshadowing for possibly something to come? I don't recall any magic being in the ASM movies? I feel like this could be his version of Peter trying to seek out the multiverse using magic and coming across Tom Hardy's Venom and/or Spider-Gwen. :ebr:

Or an I just reading to much into that line and he was being sarcastic to Ned about magic being in that universe?

I think he meant "your universe has magic in addition to science?". Since his own universe has only science-based superpowers

I’ve been rewatching the final sequence a bit and you know, they sure focused quite a bit on Andrews Spider-Man. The camera seemed to be on him definitely more then Tobey and almost as much Tom during that final action sequence. He was given much more to work with then Tobey as far as dialogue/quips is concerned and just seemed to add more life to the character with all the little personal touches like sounds when he dodges attacks.

The dude was just all over the place in that fight.

The dude was truly the MVP lol.

I do wish Tobey was given just a lilttle more material to work with though :csad:.

I didn't think that. All the Spider-Men had time to shine. Garfield maybe got the most recognition because people going in thought he'd be ignored.

Oh they definitely all shined. It’s Toms movie after all. But again look at the last battle. I’ve seen it now too many times to count. Andrew was definitely given more to work with then Tobey and he seemed to be more of a focus then Tobey as well even in their cgi’d forms.

Again, I would have liked Tobey to be given just a touch more material to play with at the end.

Never really thought Andrew would get ignored or forgotten under these circumstances either. If anything it was the opposite. I figured under these circumstances he would shine even more because he would be side by side with the competition in a sense

I actually thought he was referring to Shailene Woodley but I guess we'll never know :funny:

Yeah I took it as a reference to the controversy over the casting of Woodley as MJ for TASM2. For anyone who wasn't following that production, basically some "unflattering" pictures of Woodley without make up made their way to the internet, fanboys declared that Woodley wasn't "hot enough" for MJ, terms like "butterface" were used, and...You get the picture. It was ugly.

And then her role got cut out the film.

I think Toby and Andrew had about the same amount of screentime if you really was to count it up. I think what it really comes down to is what parts really stuck with you. That's when you start to wonder if someone had more to do than the other. And Andrew is very vibrant and focus-catching.

You trying to see how much you can get me excited and raise my blood pressure before I just finally croak….that’s got to be your mission with all these updates. My fragile lil heart can’t take this…:csad::csad::csad:

1- Keep Holland in the MCU with another trilogy.

2- Do Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Garfield.

3 - Do a MayDay Parker origin movie with Tobey.

4 - Bring them together for an event movie.

5 - Profit.

Massive profit but sounds too good to be true which means it will never happen…. :csad::argh:

Get Black Cat, Miles and Spider-Gwen in there and then do a massive Sinister 6 showdown.

They still have live action Spiderverse and/or Spider-Geddon on the table. NWH was only the tip of the iceberg. Sony definitely has at least one more event film that can rival anything Marvel has coming.

But they have to take time to build up to that again. Until then I'd like to see ASM3 and a few more MCU Spiderman films with more personal stories and lower stakes.

The Amazing Spider-Man movies were far from my favorite, aside from some aspects here and there. But man I gotta give it to Garfield, I loved every scene with him. He got me a little emotional at times. He was a good Spider-Man.

You know we dealing here with Sony, right? They will do another Spidey multiverse as quick as they can. No chance in hell we get before it two solo movies, one with Toby one with Garfield along planning Holland standalone movie with no MCU involvement.

I actually dug Garfield with the stubble in NWH. It made him look more "lived in" and mature after the events of TASM2.

As much as I'd like to see Andrew headline his own Spider-Man movie again, does anyone really trust Sony to handle that film on their own without making another debacle at his expense?

More Garfield Spidey is better than no Garfield Spidey if you ask me.

And the only MCU Spidey movie I really like is NWH, pretty much because they brought back the Spideys from those debacles, which I prefer to the MCU films.

I prefer the ASM films over HC and FFH. So for me personally, yes I would rather they handle the character.
