Well I agree, it would come off as campy in this version of Batman. But, people give their cars names all the time. Women name their breasts. There's no reason Bruce can't refer to it as the "batmobile" in jest, or even if he's proud owning a badass set of wheels.

Those bats are EVERYWHERE, and presumably since they're still alive they must EAT, and so presumably they relieve themselves all over the batcave.

I like to think of it as the Tumbler Batmobile. Just like there's the 60's tv show Batmobile and Burton's, etc, etc. The fact is it is officially the Batmobile. All the merchandise say it.

Actually, i'm fairly certain the word Tumbler is only used once in the entire film. I think Batman himself would probably refer to it as "the car", like most people do. Although, for merchandising purposes, it's best to just refer to it as the batmobile.

- actually when I went to go see Begins the Carmike theater gave out a little promo book that told a little about the movie, Batman's history, the actors etc. There was a secontion that talked about all of Batman's gadget - Battoilet Paper and Batpod were included
