Acting abilities should always come first in a movie, before the look of the character. Look at it this way. Katie Holmes is definitely more attractive than Maggie Gyllenhaal who kinda looks like she got hit in the face with something. However, Maggie was much better as Rachel Dawes than Katie.

Meryl Streep is a good actress should she play Wonder Woman? and Holmes was better than Gyllenhaal

I dont understand why The Wire, Rescue Me, Psych never been nominated for a Globe or Emmy but friggin Two and a Half Men gets recognition

The trifecta of "I Spy", "Showtime", and "Pluto Nash" The latter especially effectively killed his drawing power, studios dont trust him anymore

I thought the Rachel Dawes character was annoying no matter who played her. Highly idealistic characters often are, especially when they're preachy. She was basically Dudlette DooRight. I was glad when she bought the farm. However, Gyllenhall was at least believable as an assistant DA where as Holmes could never be.

Why so many praised the Soprano's. It's basically the montage of every mob movie stretched out to 6 or 7 seasons, there's a reason all that was set to a Rolling Stones song, that's the only way to make those parts of a mobsters life interesting.

Sopranos was actually different than The Godfather and Goodfellas. Sure they did have references to the films but just because they were all in the gangster genre I dont think they were all that similar. Interesting characters, nice black comedy, terrific acting

Thats why I praise it so much, Im not sure about others
