Things You Don't Understand

I thought it was a line from The Simpsons. The Sherry Bobbins/Mary Poppins episode.

The poor bastard never had a chance. He should've befriended an oldbie quickly. Once you do that, you're untouchable in the Hype.

I don't understand what constitutes an "oldbie".

I don't understand why people think most superhero costumes from the comics won't work on the big screen. Why always go for the more reaslistic angle, it's a movie based off of a comic book. Just have fun with it like they do in the pages

(obviously this is aimed at Bats and Xmen). It worked with Iron Man and Spiderman, why couldn't it work for them? Me thinks it very well could

well mainly because its been proven that bright yellow and bright red looks like **** on film

honestly though? Do you think Wolverine's or Cyclopse's suit couldn't be done properly in live action? Hell, most of the X Men for that matter

I very much think it could be pulled off, same with Bats

I mean, I can see where most are skeptic, but I refuse to believe they flat out can't

Gold/bright yellow just doesn't translate well on film....as for Batman, you could probably do the blue and grey costume, but Ive liked the ones they've used in the films

I mean with Batman people say the suits from the comics don't provide enough armor for reality, but honestly, it's a comic book film. Just have him slap a bullet proof vest (maybe one enhanced by Wayne Enterprises) underneath the shirt or whatever and have some fun. Don't take it so seriously, the comics don't, so why should the films?

my last thoughts on the subject, just something I never understood

because the general audience doesn't know that...and you have to make changes for the non-fans

Well, the films have started to take Batman seriously... and they are generating more money than ever before.

and prototype, if you are referring to that god awful Dead End fan film where "batman" is wearing a tshirt, I have nothing more to say to you

7 minutes of my life im not getting back...EVER

but is that because it's more realistic or because the films are just that damn well written, acted, and just flat out made?

you don't think a superhero film can be just as successful taking the fantasy (or more comic book) approach if it's as well made as Nolan's films?

well obviously that was a horrible made fan film.

and I agree, I don't watch fan films, waste of time IMHO

but that's not to say it couldn't be done right by professionals

Bah, you didn't need those seven minutes. You were probably gonna spend it saying something dumb anyway.

I could have spent it writing a fanfic about kyle rayner getting violated by Major Force....and liking it

The "Dead End" fan film wasn't bad for what it was. It's not like they had a huge budget to work with. That's why it was a fan film. Fans getting together to just do their own thing. In the world of fan films it's pretty good. There isn't much you can do on a budget of a few hundred dollars.

it was ****...too bad you can't sue someone for brain diarrhea, because that's what that was

lol..........brain diarrhea

I dont understand this whole GI Joe thing

Im not one of those guys who cried about they ruined my childhood by making a new GI joe movie. I saw a couple episodes as a kid had a few toys but I wasnt the biggest fan. But after I saw the trailer (the accelerator suits, god awful CGI) and was immediately uninterested in the film

Now with the movie finally being released I saw the tomatoemeter was HIGH 91%. But the thing is look at the reviews and most of them sum the movie up being stupid, having bad CGI but still being good

And that got me thinking wasnt that what fans of ROTF were saying for weeks. That even tho the movie is stupid it still was an enjoyable summer film. THey got crucified for comments like that but now it seems thats what everybody is saying about GI Joe and their getting a pass for it

I dont understand it
