Things you notice when the older

I'm close to 30...at this point in my life, I've realized that I have absolutely no patience for certain aspects of people's character. The chief among them being self-obsessed, narcissistic behavior which in my mind, is the genesis of most problems people face. I can't stand people who do nothing but talk about themselves and consider themselves to be superior to others, especially when their means of comparison is no better than those they claim to be of lesser quality, and use this as an excuse to do/say what they want regardless of the effects.

I've always been a very laid back guy and have tried to be equally accepting and empathetic to people's unspoken issues and how it affects their actions, but this is an area where my patience and empathy are steadily dwindling.

I guess it's safe to say that the older a lot of us got, the more we began to hate people.

The older I get, the less I care about keeping certain people in my life. If they don't want to make time for me, I'm not going to make an effort to spend time with them. Pointless and tiresome. I've also gotten closer to my family, and I value them a lot more than I used to. Because when no one else is there, family will always be there for you. Those are the people that genuinely care about you, miss you when you're not there and wonder how you're doing. You grow with them and see them change throughout life. There is no stronger bond than family for me. It's best to give as much love to your family members as possible, because you never know when they'll leave this earth.

Not to get in a debate, but the Hulk's strength increases with his rage while the Thing has a limit. Hulk would win that fight. :cwink:

see we dont start hating ALL people as we get older! Hehe

As I get older I see how marriage is more and more just a motion people go through. With a +- 50% divorce rate, really doesn't make me too enthused to jump head first into it.

The divorce rate is what it is because most people are narcissistic asshats unwilling to compromise, which is the cornerstone of modern marriage.

There wasn't as much divorce many years ago because of the societal stigma they used to have for divorced people. Also women were basically cattle and had to do whatever their hubby said.....if anything, the higher divorce rate shows progress. We no longer have to sit around taking s**t from asshats anymore. :awesome:

If anything, I feel as though the high divorce rate indicates that those other 50% were truly ready for marriage. Many people, regardless of age, aren't ready for it. If a couple was married for ten years and got divorced, then (with the exceptions like cheating) they truly weren't ready. That's what I see at least.

There is honestly no shame in domestic partnership.

I don't know if I would say that I've grown to hate people as I've gotten older, but something close to it. Lately I've been noticing that I've just grown tired of putting up with the behaviour of people I've basically known all my life. I just find myself having less and less patience with behaviour or personalities I find annoying. When I was younger, these things didn't bother me, but now it's basically "I'm getting real tired of your ****, man" on a daily basis.

I'm realizing now that as I get older the less I want people speaking to me.

I mean if it's something, or someone, that interests me then I don't mind having a conversation; but if you just want to talk about something stupid then don't even bother, I don't have time for that.

Several things sound familiar :word:

I have to agree on noisy kids. But teens can be annoying too. When travelling by train or bus, there always seem to be a bunch of young people who like to have a good time. They talk with loud voices, and when teen girls laugh, it's always a loud and hysterical laughter.
Screaming like maniacs? Sometimes :woot:

More and more the comforts and fun in things are going away as other people get involved or act out.

Flying used to be fun. It's not now.
The internet was like the wild west. It's much calmer in a lot of ways.
The list goes on.
