The Amazing Spider-Man Things You Want To See In The Amazing Spider-Man 2

And you think the general audience is gonna care? They're still gonna call her Catwoman, even if it's accidental.
really, who cares? Black Cat has been compared to Catwoman for decades. It hasnt stopped her from being used

There's a difference between using her in the comics and using her in a movie that could cost Sony millions if it fails.

Black cat alone wouldn't cause a movie to fail...... And DC has done a pretty horrible job at butchering catwoman in the filmed media over the years...

Remember how all the critics came out and said that TASM was a SM1 ripoff? Include Black Cat in a movie, and I guarantee you'll get similar comments as they relate to TDKR. Obviously it's not a perfect parallel, but critics are unforgiving in that way.

May aswell bag on Green Goblin on being both crazy and the CEO on the company. I mean, that's ripping off both Batman AND Superman. Not to mention they all wear green and purple. >.<

And? It's not hurting the film at all. The positive critics are still outweighing the bad by far and the movies making great money

Not a bad opening, but certainly not great. Especially considering 3D and IMAX bumps in ticket price.

Id say 300 mil+ world wide opening week is damn good for any movie. A movie doesn't have to over perform it's predecessors to be a success

XMEN first class made about half that opening week

I want Mary Jane, Harry Osborn, and Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.

And X-Men is nowhere near the box office draw that Spider-Man is.

And your point is? In one week spidey has grossed just about as much as Batman begins entire theatrical run..... The film is already a success. Especially when Sonys main goal was to reboot a franchise. It could have failed hard. It did not.

and it's only the first week!

I doubt they use the Black Cat because they don't want it to be compared to TDKR.

I don't think they care about getting compared to other films as long as their Spidey films make money.

I like money. I'm sure Sony likes money.

I have to agree. Who cares if it's similar? Not like people are going to stay home because there's one similar character.

It would be nice to have a female character who can fight.

I want to see a more "layered" ending. TASM's ending was a simple final fight, but the ending should have story, emotion and action pieces mixed together

I want to see Peter die.

Didn't we kinda get that? The climax was Captain Stacy accepting Peter as Spider-Man.

Kinda. But I want them to really explore emotions of the villains as well.

The Lizard looked cool, was a great challenge for Spidey, but lacked a lot of the emotional resonance that the overall movie has. As a starter villain he worked pretty well, but I can't help but to see the potential

I thought they did explore the emotions of Connors a bit, when he helped Peter up.

Problem is, I don't want someone like the Goblin to have emotional resonance. For once, I want a villain I can root against until the very end.

I felt like they could've done more with his reaction to Captain Stacy, though. I mean, imagine living with the weight of an innocent man's death on your hands... and you weren't even in your right mind when it happened.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.
