The Amazing Spider-Man Things You Want To See In The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I felt like they could've done more with his reaction to Captain Stacy, though. I mean, imagine living with the weight of an innocent man's death on your hands... and you weren't even in your right mind when it happened.

I'm sure Connors would of been in hysterics at his funeral..

Connors went to mental asylum though.

I thought they did explore the emotions of Connors a bit, when he helped Peter up.

Yeah, but they can't just disregard the emotional side of the villain until the very end when he turns back

Well, did they? He left Gwen go.

I just wish they had addressed it while they were still on the roof. I mean, the man's daughter was Connors' top intern. Before Stacy launched into his speech to Peter, I would've liked to have seen a remorseful Connors ask Stacy for forgiveness. And with a wincing smile, Stacy could've mentioned how much he appreciated the recommendation letter for Gwen. Then, Peter and Stacy could've had their moment alone. Just how I would've done it.

That would of been cool..

..they should of done that.

I have to agree. Who cares if it's similar? Not like people are going to stay home because there's one similar character.

It would be nice to have a female character who can fight.

I gotta agree... Spideys villains are a sausage fest.... His female villains are all D listers and below... Calypso and Shriek are probably the top on that list....

I mean, it's not like you can really show a male character beating on a woman... in fact, the only female CBM villain which springs to mind is Poison Ivy, and she was defeated by Batgirl.

Alot went unsaid in the film, I think a big part of peter not going to Georges funeral was his guilt. If he never gave Connors the formula he would have never became the lizard and caused so much destruction and killed gwens father

Much like also how they alluded to alot of the lizard story from the comics without spelling it out (his wedding ring, the lizards being attracted to his pheromones in the sewer, and the Dr Jekyll/me Hyde dycotomy of how Connors really is a good guy, but the lizard is sorta like Hitler with scales.... Wanting his own master race

Well.... Peter does use his brains and has webs.... He doesn't have to beat her into submission...

I know. I was more just commenting on the state of female supervillains in general. In fact, Peter lets more than a few ladies get away because he refuses to strike them. Why he doesn't just web them up, I'll never know.

Because the concept of "webbing all over the ladies" doesn't exactly strike fancies.

Max Dillon is the head of a team hired by Norman for some secret project. It just happens to involve working with power lines. Circuitry for some big project. A rival to OsCorp has some hired guns sabotage the project, creating Electro in the process.

Electro, as a survivor, could be a liability to Norman. So he hires Allistair Smythe to design bluprints for the Spider-Slayers. To prevent the Slayers from being traced back to OsCorp, he has the international spymaster, Chameleon, stealing resources from OsCorp's competitors to design the Spider-Slayers.

Meanwhile on Peter's side of things he might be trying to busy himself with a career to keep himself from breaking his promise to Captain Stacey. Suspecting OsCorp's involvement with his parent's disappearance, Peter persues a job with OsCorp and a side job as a freelance photographer.

In his mind, Peter would be in a position to investigate OsCorp while working his way up in the Daily Bugle. This way, he could expose OsCorp's possible illicit activities to the world. Of course, he would still be tempted to continue his relationship with Gwen.

Eddie Brock could be introduced as an idealistic photographer who is also interested in getting a position with the Daily Bugle. He and Peter might hit it off at first before they're thrust into competition with one another.

In the aftermath of the proto Spider-Slayers and Electro, Norman sees a chance to tighten his grip on the city by taking the underworld, which could be the plot for part 3.

In Part 3, I see Peter and Eddie becoming more competitive in their freelance work for the Bugle. Eddie could be given some inner demons dealing with his past employment, where he was fired for faking some saucy pics.

Desperation drives Norman Osborn to don the mantle of the Green Goblin to ruin his competitors and restore OsCorp's public image. To that end he launches clandestine attacks against the OsCorp's remaining rival corporations, lifting their gear and leaking it to figures in New York's underworld.

Among his stooges are Herman Shultz, who gets the Shocker outfit/gauntlets. With other B/C-list rogues, the Goblin is able to drive a wedge into the underworld, initiating a city-wide spree of gangland violence. The warring mobsters could be individuals such as Tombstone and Silvermane, for example. He assigns Chameleon the task of implicating Spider-Man in the recent Electro/proto Spider-Slayer rampage (TASM 2). We learn that Chameleon was promised a serum to help his ailing brother, Sergei, in exchange for his services to Osborn.

Meanwhile Norman prompts Allistair Smythe to update the proto Spider-Slayers, then offers the mechs to the NYPD to help them deal with the gangland violence and Spider-Man.

The damages from the showdown between Spider-Man, the proto Spider-Slayers, and Electro would have led the NYPD to reconsider their relationship with Spider-Man.

Peter would be left to deal with the mob wars, as well as the Goblin and his right-hand assassin, the Chameleon.

I'm thinking of tying Peter's parents in with the Symbiote's creation. This idea for a Part 2 and 3 provides a conclusion while leaving open a Kraven's Last Hunt scenario with the symbiote.

-Peter/Spider-Man needs to be more likable. Give something better for a fine actor like Andrew Garfield to work with. With the way the film ended, I assume the whole "seeking vengeance" thing is done and he actually becomes our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. I'm not asking for cheese, but I'm asking for something at least a bit more lighthearted and kind in his personality.

-The villain needs to be less one-dimensional and idiotic than Lizard was. Lizard was a terrible, TERRIBLE villain when he shouldn't have been.

-Better interactions between Peter and Gwen. Again, I didn't dig their "chemistry" in this movie, and I blame that on the script (or lack thereof, considering all the painful stuttering and twitching I saw between them). I don't blame the actors on this one.

-Less focus on the parents. I know that won't happen ... But I don't want this to be dragged on for 2 more movies, to be honest. I know where this plotline is headed, and I really hate the direction it's taking, so less mention of them, the better for me.

-Better character designs. Lizard's was horrible, and Spider-Man's costume was horrible. 'Nuff said.

The Lizard wasn't meant to be that kind of villain. He was a good man driven insane. Unlike the Green Goblin in the Raimi version, this movies' Lizard was actually closer to the comics. The sequel will presumably have real villains, like Norman Osborn.

Actually... I disagree with all of that.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but I don't think Lizard was like the comics at all (especially since his whole backstory was completely ignored) ... In this movie, I thought he was just a boring and hollow version of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

We're still complaining about the costume?

Apparently.

I mean, it does suck after all. Why did they go with that comic-inspired piece of garbage when they could have given us this:

Umm the only back story he ignored was his family... Everything else was there

Problem is, I don't want someone like the Goblin to have emotional resonance. For once, I want a villain I can root against until the very end.

But, isn't that what most critics said The Lizard was?
Just a generic mad scientist villain?
I want GG to have a mental impact on Peter though.
Mess with him psychologically. That would be pretty awesome.

Ok your highness.

I wish they would have done a drastic change like that.
Not necessarily that, but something waaay different.
But then again, I'm not one of this type of people who are bothered by changes made in adaptations. I look at changes as surprises, and it shows that the director has guts. :woot:

More Peter & Aunt May dynamics.
Does May know Peter is Spidey in this? Will she know?

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as MJ
Sorry, had to say this. :o

When and If the Green Goblin is in this franchise...
Give him a damn silicone mask. :cmad:
Before anyone brings in that video of Rami's comic-accurate Goblin, this mask says hi.

Ok your highness.

Dude. Please read the SUBJECT of this thread. It asks for things I want in the next movie, and I WANT less of Peter's parents.

Heaven forbid I have an opinion. Your highness asks for you to chill out. :oldrazz:

Yup, just like people are still complaining about Schumacher's Batman costume and Raimi's Green Goblin costume. lol.
If people really believe that this costume is on the same level as those two, then I pity how narrow-minded they are. There are no spider-nipples. There is no Power Rangers mask. What's the most drastic change? They made the eyes yellow? They put a red stripe down his legs? Horror of all horrors! :whatever:
